  • Recently, consumers are tend to purchase the user-centered designed product using interface enginnering and human factors techniques. Therefore, it is important that the designer's requirements should be analyzed focused on the human machine interface. This paper described the interface usability evaluation technique(suvjective evaluation) for the interface between user and product. This methodology is the integrated interface usbility evaluation method AHP and Conjoint Analysis. AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is a multicriteria decision model to give priority after expressing hierarchically for decision making problem. Conjoint Analysis enduavors to unravel the value, or partworths, that consumers place on the product or service's attributes from experimental subjects' evluation of profiles based on hypothetical products or services. A new usability test methodology proposed by this paper includes techniques jointed both consistency test by AHP and experimental subjective evaluation of profiles by Conjoint Analysis for evaluating the user's emotion and impression.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate a usability of using fashion and beauty service and suggest better user experience on Instagram's newly released mobile video platform, IGTV. The study expects to be a resource of improving the usability on fashion and beauty contents on IGTV and encourage further research for suggesting better guidelines. As a research method, it will experiment current mobile video service first with literature review. Afterwards, the research conducted tasks and in-depth interview with eight Instagram users to evaluate a usability of using fashion and beauty service on IGTV. As a result, it is able to derive two plans that needed improvement. Firstly, IGTV is required to have high accessibility for user's to use service longer and intuitive user experience. Secondly, unlike previous service that Instagram have offered, IGTV need to differentiate to share and get information of fashion and beauty trends.

  • The development and generalization of the Internet increased the popularity of food delivery service applications in Korea. The food delivery market based on online-to-offline service is growing rapidly. This study compares the usability of Korean food delivery service application between that of Chinese food delivery service application. This study suggests improvement points for Korean food delivery service applications. To conduct this study, we explore the status of various food delivery service applications and conduct interviews and surveys based on the honeycomb model developed by Peter Morville. This study obtained the following results. First, all restaurants participating in the Korean food delivery service must be able to accept order through the application. Second, the shopping cart function must be able to accept order of all restaurants simultaneously. Third, when users look for menu recommendation, their purchase history and shopping cart functions should appear at the first page of the website. Users should be able to perceive the improved usability of the website using those functions. Fourth, when the search window is fixed on the top of each page, users should be able to find the information they need. Fifth, the application must allow users to find the exact location of the delivery person and the estimated delivery time. Finally, the restaurants'address should be disclosed and fast delivery time should be confirmed to enhance users'trust on the application. This study contributes to academia and industry by suggesting useful insight into food delivery service applications and improving the point of food delivery service application in Korea.

  • Due to the recent surge of wireless Internet and concurrent development of the end user terminal devices having standardized graphical user interface(GUI) and unified operation mechanism for better interactivity in information representation and ease of use, various efforts on the improvement of GUI is widely recognized as one of the key factors that will usher in the next stages of the wireless Internet for the users. Especially, improved usability along with unique visual effect are considered to be the key elements for GUI considering the rapid improvement of the resolution and color on the end user handset devices; thus, the study and research on the subject of GUI is expected to increase along with the wireless Internet using smart phones. User interface of the wires Internet end user handsets will have a definite and significant effect on the user interaction as well as productivity. Domestically, wireless Internet service providers and GUI design companies are making various efforts in producing a common GUI models for standardized operation scheme and improved graphical display capabilities of the hand phones, PDAs and smart phones. In the study, Nokia 3650 model and Microsoft Orange SPV model were chosen as test devices for usability comparison and data collection to collect directional benchmark data in developing next generation smart phone user interface integrating PDAs and phones. The mail purpose of this study is to achieve the most efficient user accessibility to WAP menu through intensive focus on developing WIPI WAP menu having most effective usability for the users in their twenties and thirties. The result of this study can also be used as the base research materials for WAP service development, VM browser development and PDA browser development. The result of this study along with the evaluation model is expected to provide effective analysis materials on the subject of user interface to the developers of the wireless Internet user devices, GUI designers and service planners while short listing key factors to consider in developing smart phones therefore serving as the GUI guideline of WIPI phones.

  • This study investigates the relationship between the digital music service acceptance factors on the Perceived value, and Customer Satisfaction. Remarkable points of this study are as follows. First, according to the result of the analysis of relationship between digital music service acceptance factors and perceived value, diversity of digital music products and quality of digital music system affects significantly on the perceived value. but, usability of digital music service use does not have an effect on the perceived value. Second, as the result of analysis of the relationship between digital music service acceptance factors and customer satisfaction, diversity of digital music products, usability of digital music service and quality of digital music system affects significantly on the perceived value. These finding should assist digital music marketers and academics in their understanding of building loyalty on digital music service.

  • After the beginning of Web2.0 era, newly developed interaction design patterns based on Ajax(Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) have been tried in various Web2.0 services. These new interaction design patterns enable web service to provide rich experience for users. However, it is very hard to find organized task based guideline about Web2.0 interaction design even though there are a lot of complicated interaction design techniques and patterns. It is essential to have Web2.0 interaction guide based on Ajax because it can guide designers to use appropriate interaction design patterns and to keep usability for ordinary users. Therefore, this research aims to establish task based interaction design guideline for Web2.0 service based on Ajax. The reason why this research focused on Ajax is that Ajax is most widely used language for Web2.0 service. First, primary five interaction design patterns were defined through analysis of various interaction design patterns from Web2.0 services. Second, detail interaction design tasks from five major patterns were analyzed based on the study of major Web2.0 services such as Gmail, Twitter, YouTube and Google maps. Third, general design guidelines such as heuristic guidelines for web service are studied through literature review. After all, this study proposed task based interaction design guide for Web2.0 service with Ajax. With this guide, designers and developers can choose appropriate Web2.0 interaction patterns and apply to their service and provide service to users with enhanced usability and satisfaction.

Which Online Shopping Platforms and Payment Options are Favored by Korean Online Seller?: Focusing on Online Shopping Platforms' and Payment Options' Characteristics (온라인 쇼핑 플랫폼 및 간편결제서비스 선택 시 판매자가 고려하는 요인에 대한 실증적 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to verify the sellers' preference of online shopping platform and simple payment service among the Korean domestic online shopping platforms and analyze which factors they consider depending upon their preferred platform and service. The result of this study shows that the reputation, ease of payment, and ease to navigate of online shopping platform should be considered seriously in choosing the online shopping platform. Also, the usability, ease of payment and service fee of simple payment service are influencing factors to select simple payment service for sellers. Meanwhile, the result confirms that the degree of reputation, ease to navigate, service fee, and ease of payment differs on each selected online shopping platform. Also, the degree of usability and security in simple payment service is different between each chosen simple payment services.

Emerging Image Cue CAPTCHA Resisting Automated and Human-Solver-Based Attacks (자동화 공격과 릴레이 공격에 저항하는 Emerging Image Cue CAPTCHA 연구)

  • CAPTCHA is a verification scheme whether or not a human user has made a service request. Most CAPTCHAs that are based on text, image, or simple game suffer from vulnerability that can be compromised by automated attacks and stream relay attacks. To resist such attacks, CAPTCHA that utilizes human recognition as been suggested but it show poor usability for deploying in the Internet. We propose an Emerging Image Cue CAPTCHA that offers improved usability and resists stream relay attacks, as well. We also examine the usability of the proposed CAPTCHA and investigate the attack resistance by conducting user study and experiments on simulated network environment.

A Case Study on the Hospital Information Systems Usability (병원정보시스템 사용성에 대한 실증연구)

  • This study is a development of quality scale and a measurement of quality levels for the Hospital Information System(HIS) used in the hospital industry. This study is to provide decision-making guidelines for hospital managers, system analysts, and software designers, and to provide feedback for the users' information needs. The target people of the study were medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and clerical staff. The service contexts of usability were diagnosis/treatment, nursing, medicine preparation, and treatment fee receipt/claim. The quality factors were the efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction of IS09241-11. This study shows that the current domestic HISs are mostly based on patient diagnosis/treatment and treatment fee accounting, and that other quality scales are necessary according to different job categories, specializations, positions, and service domains. Especially, the low quality of HIS was found in the abnormal service processing, information sharing by outside institutions, and standardization. It may be added that the HIS should be improved and developed in these respects.

Analysis of usability factors for Educational Mobile application (모바일 교육 콘텐츠의 사용성 평가요인 분석: 사이버대학을 중심으로)

  • Mobile learning, which provides educational services with a mobile platform, has been greatly expanding with the increasing spread of digital devices. The transition from PC-based online education to mobile-based education enables users to access online education anytime and anywhere. Despite this expansion of mobile learning, there is a lack of user-oriented content design. Therefore, this study intends to derive a measure to evaluate usefulness of the content design. We conducted a literature survey to reflect characteristics of existing measures, which evaluate usefulness and content of mobile learning. As educational mobile applications have both educational service and mobile device features, they can be representative of pedagogical usability criterion and can be divided into system and content areas to further develop effectiveness of learning. We conducted questionnaires on the use of these applications on 15 experts using the del phi technique. The analysis suggests the ease of use, learning efficiency, aesthetics, and ease of learning to be criteria of pedagogical usability. This study expects to serve as a basis to improve the usability of mobile learning users.
