  • $PM_{2.5}$ black carbon (BC) concentrations were measured to investigate the filter spot loading effect in raw BC data at 5-minute time-based resolution using a single-wavelength aethalometer at a Gwangju site. Also the elemental carbon (EC) concentrations from 24-hr integrated filter-based measurements of $PM_{2.5}$ particles were determined to compare with the loading compensated BC values. Close examination of the time-series BC data showed clearly the "gaps" when the filter tape advances, suggesting the correction of raw BC data. Therefore, we calculated the average BC concentration in each range of attenuation (ATN) to decide if there was (or was not) an effect on the aethalometer data according to the loading of the filter spot. A consistent decrease of average BC concentration was found with increasing ATN values for every month, suggesting there was a consistent "spot loading effect" in the raw BC data. The loading compensated BC concentration according to a simple compensation model with loading effect was 1.01~1.15 times greater than the raw BC data. The 24-hr average concentration of EC observed during summer sampling period was about 3% higher than the original 24-hr average BC value and 2% lower than the loading compensated BC concentration.

  • This paper describes a contact atomic force microscope (AFM) that can be used for high-speed precision measurements of microstructured surfaces. The AFM is composed of an air-bearing X stage, an air-bearing spindle with the axis of rotation in the Z direction, and an AFM probe unit. The traversing distance and maximum speed of the X stage are 300 mm and 400 mm/s, respectively. The spindle has the ability to hold a sample in a vacuum chuck with a maximum diameter of 130 mm and has a maximum rotation speed of 300 rpm. The bandwidth of the AFM probe unit in an open loop control circuit is more than 40 kHz. To achieve precision measurements of microstructured surfaces with slopes, a scanning strategy combining constant height measurements with a slope compensation technique is proposed. In this scanning strategy, the Z direction PZT actuator of the AFM probe unit is employed to compensate for the slope of the sample surface while the microstructures are scanned by the AFM probe at a constant height. The precision of such a scanning strategy is demonstrated by obtaining profile measurements of a microstructure surface at a series of scanning speeds ranging from 0.1 to 20.0 mm/s.

  • A series of density log data were obtained from the standoff experiments made in the four physical model boreholes of different densities, and the properties of spine and rib curves have been derived by the analysis of the gamma-gamma data. Particularly, the shape of gamma ray propagation path between source and detector, the geometrical property of spine and rib curves, the influence of borehole density and the detector combination on the properties of the curves, and the adequate detector combination for standoff compensation could be discussed. It was also confirmed that spine and rib slopes can be expressed as proportional to source-to-detector distance ratio between far and near detectors. The result of this experiment was also effectively applied for understanding the basic concept of spine and rib slopes.

  • In the case of damages caused by personal information infringement accidents caused by information infringer such as hackers, the information subject will usually claim damages to the information controller rather than the information infringer who is the perpetrator, and the information controller who has been claimed will claim damages again to the information security enterprise that has entrusted the information protection business. These series of claims for damages, which are expected to be carried out between the information subject, the information controller and the information security enterprise, are nothing but quarrels for transferring of liability among themselves who are also victims of infringement. So the problem of damage compensation should be discussed from the perspective of multi-faceted rational distribution of the damages among the subjects who make up the information security industry ecosystem rather than the conventional approach. In addition, due to the nature of personal information infringement accidents, if a large amount of personal information infringement occurs, the amount of compensation can be large enough to affect the survival of the company and so this study insist that a concrete and realistic alternatives for society to share damages is needed.

  • This paper suggested the sulfur lamp power supply using Fuzzy Gain Scheduling(FGS), which was designed and confirmed the performance through manufacturing. it was based on Series Resonant Half Bridge Inverter(SRHBI), so that was applied Pulse Frequency Modulation(PFM), Zero Voltage Switching(ZVS), soft switching and soft start for input power variation and output power compensation. In order to get the lengthened life time of magnetron and stabilized output or power, power ratter and efficiency were improved by fuzzy gain algorism. It also made it possible to get not the existing foxed output power but continuous variable output power$(900\~1250[W])$. The manufactured power supply showed good results in input power $220[V]{\pm}15[\%]$ with stabilized output of power, luminous efficiency 97[1m/W] and power factor $96[\%]$.

  • In wireless power transfer (WPT) system, the conventional compensation topologies only can provide a constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) output under their resonant conditions. It is difficult to meet the CC and CV hybrid charging requirements without any other schemes. In this study, a switching hybrid topology (SHT) is proposed for CC and CV electric vehicle (EV) battery charging. By utilizing an additional capacitor and two AC switches (ACSs), a double-side LCC (DS-LCC) and an inductor and double capacitors-series (LCC-S) topologies are combined. According to the specified CC and CV charging profile, the CC and CV charging modes can be flexibly converted by the two additional ACSs. In addition, zero phase angle (ZPA) also can be achieved in both charging modes. In this method, because the operating frequency is fixed, without using PWM control, and only a small number of devices are added, it has the benefits of low-cost, easy-controllability and high efficiency. A 3.3-kW experimental prototype is configured to verify the proposed switching hybrid charger. The maximum DC efficiencies (at 3.3-kW) of the proposed SHT is 92.58%.

  • This paper focuses on prototype management models of location conflict concerned with crematory facilities in Korea. Using causal loops and stock-flow diagrams, it examines behavioral patterns of key variables, which would contribute to developing objective evaluation criteria. After a series of simulation works, the paper finds that the top priority should be given to how to improve neighboring residents' perception, ahead of specific compensation issues. Otherwise, they are open to vicious cycles or impasse. Juxtaposing individual cases together, Pusan and Cheongju examples which experienced the extreme confrontation in the initial stage could succeed in resolving crematory location conflict, especially between local residents and the public authorities, as the latter has repeatedly guaranteed to the former higher standards of participation. The opposite was almost true for Seoul and Ulsan cases, both of which were drawn into a crematory location whirlpool, incrementally losing resident's participation base. These results imply that the proposed management models would enhance mutual understanding among major stake-holders in relatively a shorter time, not to mention the overall cost.

  • A technology based on thyristors will be used to manufacture the super-conducting coil AC/DC converters because of the low ratio of cost over installed power compared to a design based on GTO or similar technology. But phase-controlled converter suffers from fundamental disadvantage. They inject current harmonics into the input ac mains due to their nonlinear characteristics, thereby distort the supply voltage waveform, and demand reactive power from the associated ac power system at retarded angles. To overcome this disadvantage, in the case of two series converters at the DC side, connected to the same step-down transformer, apply for the sequence control. It is the most simple and efficient way to reduce the reactive power consumption at low cost. Analytical sequence control algorithm is suggested, the validity of the proposed scheme has been verified by experimental results with the small-scaled International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Power Supply to minimize reactive power consumption.

  • Linearization of the biped dynamic equations and design of linear controller for the linearized equations are studied in this paper. The biped robot with inverted pendulum type trunk, used to stabilize the dynamic balancing of the biped robot during dynamic walking period, is modelled with 14 DOF and simulated. Despite of well defined linear control theories so far, the linear control methods was limited to the applications for a walking robot, because they have been inherently strong nonlinear properties, such as a modeling parameter uncertainties, external forces as noise, inertial and Coriolis terms by three dimensional modeling and so on. To linearize the nonlinear equations of motion of biped robot on MIMO and time varying linear equations of motion, 1st order Taylor series is used to formulate the linear equation. And a 2nd order numerical perturbation method Is used to approximate partial differential equations. Using the linearized equations of motion, a linear controller is designed by pole placement method with feed forward compensation. Using the obtained linearized equations and linear controller, the continuous walking simulation is performed.
