신뢰성 있는 H 제어 : 선형 행렬 부등식 방법 (Reliable H Control : A Linlear Matrix Inequality Approach)

  • In this paper we address reliable output feedback control problem for a class of linear systems with actuator/sensor failures. An output feedback control method is proposed which stabilizes the plant and guarantees $H_\inftyt$-norm constraint against all admissible actuator/sensor failures. The controller can be obtainer by solving some LMls that cover all failure cases. Effectiveness of this controller is validated via a numerical example.   • A new three-dimensional thin shell element for the structure containing an integrated distributed piezoelectric sensor and actuator is proposed. A finite element formulation for the static response of the shell with piezoelectric sensor/actuator is derived. The assumed strain formulation and the bubble function improves the performance of the shell element. The verification through the calculation of the static response for the piezoelectic bimorph beam shows that the results agree with those from the theoretical analysis very well.

  • 최근 분산제어시스템 설계시 CAN(Controller Area Network)을 적용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 분산제어에 필요한 각종 입출력 데이터를 CAN버스 상에서 송수신할 수 있는 Smart Sensor/Actuator Node를 직접 개발하고, 이를 이용한 실험용 Network를 구축하였다. Sensor Node에서 획득된 외부의 Analog신호를 CAN Bus를 통해 전송한 후, 원격지의 Actuator Node에서 출력하는 Data 송수신 실험을 통해서 설계된 Network와 각 Node의 효율성을 입증하였다.

  • Fault diagnosis problem is currently the subject of extensive research and numerous survey paper can be found. Although several works are studied on the fault detection and isolation observers and the residual generators, those are concerned with only the detection of actuator failures or sensor failures. So, the perfect detection and isolation is strongly required for practical applications. In this paper, a, strategy of fault diagnosis using multiple proportional integral (PI) observers including the magnitude of actuator failures is provided. It is shown that actuator failures are detected and isolated perfectly by monitoring the integrated error between actual output and estimated output by a PI observer. Also in presence of complex actuator and sensor failures, these failures are detected and isolated by multiple PI observers.

  • This paper presents an approach to define an optimal piezoactuator length to actively control structural vibration. The optimal ratio of the piezoactuator length against beam length when a pair of piezoceramic actuator and accelerometer is used to suppress unwanted vibration with direct velocity feedback (DVFB) control strategy is not clearly defined so far. It is well known that direct velocity feedback (DVFB) control can be very useful when a pair of sensor and actuator is collocated on structures with a high gain and excellent stability. It is considered that three different collocated pairs of piezoelectric actuators (20, 50 and 100 mm) and accelerometers installed on three identical clamped-clamped beams (300 * 20 * 1 mm). The response of each sensor-actuator pair requires strictly positive real (SPR) property to apply a high feedback gain. However the length of the piezoactuator affects SPR property of the sensor-actuator response. Intensive simulation and experiment shows the effect of the actuator length variation is strongly related with the frequency range of SPR property. A shorter actuator gave a wider SPR frequency range as a longer one had a narrower range. The shorter actuator showed limited control performance in spite of a higher gain was applied because the actuation force was relatively small. Thus an optimal length ratio (actuator length/beam length) was suggested to obtain relevant performance with good stability with DVFB strategy. The result of this investigation could give important information in the design of active control system to suppress unwanted vibration of smart structures with piezoelectric actuators and accelerometers.

  • In this paper, vibration reduction techniques of a voice coil motor (VCM) actuator are presented for AFM imaging system. The damping coefficient of the actuator driven by VCM with a flexure hinge is quite low and it cause the about 30dB peak amplitude response at the resonance frequency. To decrease this peak response, we design and apply elliptical band-stop filters to xy and z axis VCM actuator. Frequency response of each actuator with filter is measured to verify the effect of the filters. As a sensor, capacitive sensor is used. Vibration reduction rate of the xy actuator with the filter is also measured while real AFM scanning condition. As another method, closed loop control with the capacitive sensor is applied to the xy axis actuator to add an electrical damping effect and vibration reduction rate measured. These vibration reduction rates with each method are compared. In the case of z axis actuator, the frequency response of force (gap) control loop is measured. For comparison, the frequency response using a conventional PID controller is also obtained. Finally, the AFM image of a standard grid sample is measured with the designed controller to analyze the effect in the AFM imaging.

Failure Detection Filter for the Sensor and Actuator Failure in the Auto-Pilot System

  • Auto-Pilot System uses heading angle information via the position sensor and the rudder device to control the ship's direction. Most of the control logics are composed of the state estimation and control algorithms assuming that the measurement device and the actuator have no fault except the measurement noise. But such asumptions could bring the danger in real situation. For example, if the heading angle measuring device is out of order the control action based on those false position information could bring serious safety problem. In this study, the control system including improved method for processing the position information is applied to the Auto-Pilot System. To show the difference between general state estimator and F.D.F., BJDFs for the sensor and the actuator failure detection are designed and the performance are tested. And it is shown that bias error in sensor could be detected by state-augmented estimator. So the residual confined in the 2-dimension in the presence of the sensor failure could be unidirectional in output space and bias sensor error is much easier to be detected.

신경회로망을 이용한 항공기 센서 및 구동장치 고장보완 제어시스템 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fault Tolerant Control System for Aircraft Sensor and Actuator Failures via Neural Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 항공기 센서와 구동장치 고장시 신경회로망을 이용하여 이를 대처하는 고장보완시스템에 대해서 고려한다. 센서 고장의 경우에는 비행동역학적 관계식을 적절히 이용하여 신경회로망으로 센서고장을 진단/규명하고 고장난 센서를 대체할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 또한 구동장치의 고장이나 조종면의 일부 파손시 이를 진단/규명하고 보완하여 새로운 트림상태로 안정화시키는 제어시스템을 제안한다. 설계된 두 보완시스템을 하나의 가격함수로 통합하여 운용하는 알고리즘을 제안하며 이의 검증을 위해 센서와 구동장치의 고장을 가상적으로 설정하여 시뮬레이션함으로써 보완시스템의 성능을 확인한다.

  • 인공위성에 사용되는 센서들의 장착 방향은 보통 방향코사인행렬로 구현되어 있다. 이 방향코사인행렬의 극성검증을 위해서는 센서에 알고 있는 외부 자극을 인가하여 출력되는 응답을 확인하는 방법이 사용된다. 그러나 자이로 센서의 경우에는 인위적인 외부 자극 없이 지구 자전에 의한 회전각속도가 방향코사인행렬의 극성검증을 위한 입력으로 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 인공위성의 조립 및 시험 단계에서 여러 번 수행되는 자이로 센서의 상태점검 시험결과를 이용하여 자이로 센서의 방향코사인행렬 극성검증을 수행하였다.

형상기억합금 액추에이터를 이용한 강건한 진동제어 (Robust Control of Vibration Using shape memory alloy actuator)

  • The use of the shape memory alloy, Nitinol wire, is investigated as an actuator for enhancing the damping in structural vibration systems. The first-order mathematical model of the Nitinol wire is obtained from the experimental data for an actuator. Finite element method is utilized for the strain gage sensor model, which is installed at the root of cantilever beam. A simple system, cantilever beam, is built as a flexible structural system to implement a control law with the Nitinol wire actuator. The system model including sensor and actuator is derived, which agrees with the experimental results. The actuator dynamics is augmented with the system so as to design PI controller and the one of robust controllers, LQG/LTR controller, and the control laws are implemented experimentally. The experimental study shows the feasibility of utilizing the Nitinol wire as an actuator for the purpose of vibration control.
