  • The purpose of this study is the assessment of changes in the leisure patterns of users of the Eulsook-do before and after the estuary dike construction. The following survey research method was conducted to implement the study, sampling by age was carried out selectively and randomly alike. A total of 319 persons were chosen for final analysis, excluding questionnaires answered found to be inappropriate. To measure the image of the lower Nakdong River around the Eulsook-do, with advice sought from experts, researchers, through several pilot tests, developed a 24-item semantic differential scale(SDS) that has two bi-polar adjectives at each end Study of the pre- and post- construction images of the Eulsook-do located on the coast of Busan suggests the dike construction has brought about negative changes in the Eulsook-do's overall image. There can be two alternatives for improving the negative image: restoration and development.

  • In the Semantic Web, storage models are required to efficiently store and retrieve metadata and ontology represented using OWL that can provide expressive power and reasoning support. In this paper, we propose an OWL storage model that can store and retrieve many restrictions and semantic relations defined on ontology with metadata. In addition, we propose some methods and rules to improve query processing efficiency of the proposed storage model. The proposed storage model can store and process large amounts of ontology and metadata because it consists of tables based on the relational database. And the proposed model can quickly provide more accurate results to users because of performing two different types of ontology reasoning and using the prime number labeling scheme to easily identify hierarchy relationships between classes or properties. The comparative evaluation results show that our storage model provides better performance than the existing storage model.

  • Increasing product variety based on product family and product platform provides a company with a competitive advantage over its competitors. As products become more complex, short-life cycled and customized, the design efforts require more knowledge-intensive, collaborative and coordinating efforts for information sharing. By sharing knowledge, information, component and process across different families of products, the product realization process will be more efficient, cost-effective and quick-responsive. Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is used for analyzing data and forming semantic structures that are formal abstractions of concepts of human thoughts. A Web Ontology Language (OWL) is designed for applications that need to process the content of information instead of simply presenting information to humans. OWL also captures the evolution of different components of the product family. The purpose of this paper is to develop product variety modeling to increase the usefulness of common platform. In constructing and analyzing product ontology, FCA is adopted for conceptual knowledge processing. For the selected product family, product variety Ontology is constructed and implemented using prot$\'{e}$g$\'{e}$-2000.

  • Similarity searching is a basic issue in information processing because of the large size of formal contexts and their complicated derivation operators. Recently, some researchers have focused on knowledge reduction methods by using granular computing. In this process, suitable information granules are vital to characterizing the quantities of attributes and objects. To address this problem, a novel approach to obtain an entropy-weighted concept lattice with inclusion degree and similarity distance (ECLisd) has been proposed. The approach aims to compute the combined weights by merging the inclusion degree and entropy degree between two concepts. In addition, another method is utilized to measure the hierarchical distance by considering the different degrees of importance of each attribute. Finally, the rationality of the ECLisd is validated via a comparative analysis.

  • Procedures play a key role in ensuring safe operation at nuclear power plants (NPPs). Development and maintenance of a large number of procedures reflecting the best knowledge available in all relevant areas is a complex job. This paper introduces a newly developed methodology and the implemented software, called iExtractor, for the extraction of syntactic and semantic information from NPP procedures utilizing natural language processing (NLP)-based technologies. The steps of the iExtractor integrated with sets of rules and an ontology for NPPs are described in detail with examples. Case study results of the iExtractor applied to selected procedures of a U.S. commercial NPP are also introduced. It is shown that the iExtractor can provide overall comprehension of the analyzed procedures and indicate parts of procedures that need improvement. The rich information extracted from procedures could be further utilized as a basis for their enhanced management.

  • This study presents the problems of data imbalance, varying difficulties across target objects, and small objects in construction object segmentation for far-field monitoring and utilize compound loss functions to address it. Construction site scenes of assembling scaffolds were analyzed to test the effectiveness of compound loss functions for five construction object classes---workers, hardhats, harnesses, straps, hooks. The challenging problem was mitigated by employing a focal and Jaccard loss terms in the original loss function of LinkNet segmentation model. The findings indicates the importance of the loss function design for model performance on construction site scenes for far-field monitoring.

  • This study suggests IFC-based bridge information modeling methods and its application model in BIM environment. Data model extension for bridge structure was achieved using user-defined property sets based on IFC framework. First, identification information was added. Bridge members are identified through physical and spatial semantic information added as property sets. Instances for semantic information were assigned according to standardized rules. Second, CO2 related factors were added for application information model. It can play a role to calculate and manage the quantity of CO2 emission. Third, properties for temporary structure to estimate and manage the construction cost were added. Finally, we investigated proposed methods through implementing the application information model of bridges.

  • Research is being made for users' convenient access to services such as personalized data and contents services. The use of information and the fusion of services in various devices and terminals suggest the necessity to know what personalization mechanism is used to provide high quality contents at a time and place desired by users. Existing mechanisms are not easy to be handled by other service providers because each service provider has different preference and personal information, and are very inconvenient because service users have to set up and manage by themselves. Thus, the present paper proposes a Semantic User Profiles Manager based on OSGi, middleware for the provision and extension of semantic services, in order to manage users' profiles dynamically regardless of service provider. In addition, this paper defines a personalized semantic profile that enables user profiling, ontological domain modeling and semantic reasoning. In order to test the validity of this paper, we implemented semantic profiles into a bundle running based on OSGi. When users enter the range of the service area and use various devices, the semantic service matches in correspondence with semantic user profiles. The proposed system can easily extend the matching of services to user profiles and matching between user profiles or between services.

  • BIM models allow building spaces to be instantiated and recognized as unique objects independently of model elements. These instantiated spaces provide the required semantics that can be leveraged for building code checking, energy analysis, and evacuation route analysis. However, theses spaces or rooms need to be designated manually, which in practice, lead to errors and omissions. Thus, most BIM models today does not guarantee the semantic integrity of space designations, limiting their potential applicability. Recent studies have explored ways to automate space allocation in BIM models using artificial intelligence algorithms, but they are limited in their scope and relatively low classification accuracy. This study explored the use of Graph Convolutional Networks, an algorithm exclusively tailored for graph data structures. The goal was to utilize not only geometry information but also the semantic relational data between spaces and elements in the BIM model. Results of the study confirmed that the accuracy was improved by about 8% compared to algorithms that only used geometric distinctions of the individual spaces.

  • According to the development of information & web technology and the amount of information increases, there have been numerous problems exposed. Although, software engineers try to overcome the limitations by using software agent and web service, there hasn't been satisfactory result in the paradigm of current software agent being a provider to the user's demand. Moreover, the latest configuration of software development is based on CBD (Component Based Development). However, to construct new component using CBD costs great deal of expenses and therefore, a new model which can acquirecomponent information on the web promptly and accurately with low expenses is required. In this paper, the repository management system which acquires and manages on the Semantic web is designed and compare them to the existing component repository management and present its analysis result. In addition, to overcome the limitations of existing component repository system; low accuracy of search result, restrictive search vocabulary and faulty information, the specific plan is presented to perform a knowledge search for the component.
