Implementation of the Mass Flow Controller using Adaptive PID (적응 PID를 이용한 질량 유량 제어기 구현)

  • The MFC(Mass Flow Controller) is an equipment that measures and controls mass flow rates of fluid. Most of the HFC system is still using the PID algorithm. The PID algorithm shows superior performance on the MFC system. But the PID algorithm in the MFC system has a few problems as followed. The characteristic of the MFC system is changed according to the operating environment. And, when the piezo valve that uses the control valve is assembled in the MFC system, a coupling error is generated. Therefore, it is very difficult to find out the exact parameters of MFC system. In this paper, we propose adaptive PID algorithm in order to compensate these problems of a traditional PID algorithm. The adaptive PID algorithm estimates the parameters of MFC system using LMS(Least Mean Square) algorithm and calculates the coefficients of PID controller. Besides, adaptive PID algorithm shows better transient response because adaptive PID algorithm includes a feedforward. And we implement MFC system using proposed adaptive PID algorithm with self-tuning and Ziegler and Nickels's method. Finally, comparative analysis of the proposed adaptive PID and the traditional PID is shown.

  • This paper presents a generalized minimum-variance self-tuning controller with a PID structure using neural network which adapts to the changing parameters of the nonlinear system with nonminimum phase behavior and time delays. The neural network is used to estimate the controller parameters, and the control output is obtained through estimated controller parameter. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the computer simulation is done to adapt the nonlinear nonminimum phase system with time delays and changed system parameter after a constant time. The proposed method compared with direct adaptive controller using neural network.

  • In this paper, a speed controller using a microcomputer is implemented and applied to a DC Servo Motor. Adaptive control is applied to a system for which a priori knowledge to its mathematical model is insufficient, on the basis of input and output data an apropriate controller is constructed through which the system input is synthesized. The pole-placement PID self tuning control algorithms as a control algorithm is used to compare the performance of the controller with that of the classical PID controller through computer simulations and experiments.

  • This paper concerned about a study on the position control of KED-1 robot manipulator using PID self-tuning controller. For two joint manipulator KED-1, KED-1 manipulator is translated into kinematics to control each joints in joint space seheme. Angle displacements of joint coordinate are transformed into reference angle velocity of each subsystem through trajectory planning. Also, time sharing technique is used to control KED-1 manipulator. A series of simulation and experiment are performed for each joint in show the valid of proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, we applied self-tuning controller with I-PD type to process with time delay's. Process parameters are estimated by the recursive least squares algorithm, and optimal gains are obtained. This paper shows self-tuning controller with I-PD type performs better than that of general PID type for the nonlinear system with sudden change of set-points.

  • In this paper, we proposed two types of adaptive control mechanism which is named HIA(Humoral Immune Algorithm) PID and CMIA(Cell-Mediated Immune Algorithm) controller based on biological immune system under engineering point of view. The HIA PID which has real time control scheme is focused on the humoral immunity and the latter which has the self-tuning mechanism is focused on the T-cell regulated immune response. To verify the performance of the proposed controller, some experiments for the control of AGV which is used for the port automation to carry container without human are performed. The experimental results for the control of steering and speed of an AGV system illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. Moreover, in that results, proposed controllers have better performance than other conventional PID controller and intelligent control method which is the NN(neural network) PID controller.

  • The parameters of PID controller should be readjusted whenever system character change. In spite of a rapid development of control theory, this work needs much time and effort of expert. In this paper, to resolve this defect, after the sample of parameters in the changeable limits of system character is obtained, these parametrs are used as desired values of back propagation learning algorithm, also neural network auto tuner for PID controller is proposed by determing the optimum structure of neural network. Simulation results demonstrate that auto-tuning proper to system character can work well.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the tension control in a web transport system. Direct self-tuning regulator method was applied to tension controller and variable-gain PID control algorithm was applied to web speed controller. The designed controllers compensated for the time-varying parameters and tracked reference tension in process speed changing. The simulation shows that direct STR tension controller improves tension control performance in comparison with other controllers.

  • This paper suggests that the immune algorithm can effectively be used in tuning of a PID controller. The artificial immune network always has a new parallel decentralized processing mechanism for various situations, since antibodies communicate to each other among different species of antibodies/B-cells through the stimulation and suppression chains among antibodies that form a large-scaled network. In addition to that, the structure of the network is not fixed, but varies continuously.   • In this paper, supposed to solve these problem to PID parameters controller algorithm using ANN. In the proposed algorithm, the parameters of the controller were adjusted to reduce by on-line system the error of the speed of IM. In this process, EBPANN was constituted to an output error value of an IM and conspired an input and output. The performance of the self-tuning controller is compared with that of the PID controller tuned by conventional method (Ziehler-Nichols). The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified thought the Matlab Simulink and experimental results.
