Effect of Action Observation Physical Training for Chronic Stroke Patients on the Stairs Walking Ability and Self-Efficacy

  • Purpose: This study examined the impacts of action observational physical training related to stair walking on the stair walking ability and self-efficacy of chronic stroke patients. Methods: This study was conducted on 24 chronic stroke patients, who were assigned randomly to an action observational physical training group (12 persons) and a landscape observation physical training group (12 persons). To the action-observational physical training group, five videos related to stair walking were presented, and after observing them, physical training was carried out. The landscape observation physical training group observed the videos consisting of landscape, where there were no humans and animals, and then underwent physical training. This study measured the rectus femoris, biceps femoris, tibialis anterior, and gastrocnemius to examine the muscle activity of the lower limb. A timed up and go and step test was performed to examine the balance ability, and a timed stair test was conducted to examine their stair walking ability. A self-efficacy scale was measured to examine the degree of their confidence of performing stair walking. The assessment was conducted three times in total: pre-, post-, and follow-up surveys. Results: As a result of this study, the action observational physical training group significant improvement after the intervention than in the landscape observation physical training group. Moreover, the follow-up study four weeks after the intervention showed significant improvements in the action observational physical training group (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results show that the action observational physical training had a positive impact on the stair walking ability and self-efficacy of chronic stroke patients.

간호 대학생의 응급실 관찰 경험 (The Study about Nursing Students' Experience on Emergency Room Environment Observation)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 종합병원 응급실 임상실습을 경험한 간호 대학생의 경험의 의미를 이해하고 서술함으로써 간호교육에서 효과적인 임상교육 전략을 개발하고 임상실습의 질을 향상하기 위함이다. 4학년 간호 대학생 30명에게 응급실 임상실습 동안 응급실의 상황에 대한 관찰경험을 서술하도록 한 후 서술 내용을 분석하여 의미를 도출하고 실행학습을 통하여 성찰학습의 의미로 분석하였다. 간호 대학생들의 응급실 임상실습 참여관찰 경험의 내용을 분석한 결과 도출된 주제는 '역동적인 간호사', '응급상황에 맞는 의사소통', '응급실 간호사는 교통정리 담당자'라는 긍정적인 주제와 '임시방편적인 사고', '환자보호자와 간호사의 갈등', '기계적인 움직임' 등의 부정적인 주제가 도출되었다. 연구의 활용과 관련하여 간호 대학생들의 응급실 관찰경험은 간호학생 측면에서는 자신의 미래 모습을 구체적으로 생각해보고 올바른 간호중재법에 대해 생각해보는 계기를 마련할 수 있으며, 간호교육측면에서는 효과적인 임상실무교육 전략 개발에 도움이 되는 기초적인 자료가 될 것이다.

In-situ Crack Propagation Observation of a Particle Reinforced Polymer Composite Using the Double Cleavage Drilled Compression Specimens

  • In this study, we investigate the feasibility of in-situ crack propagation by using a double cleavage drilled compression (DCDC) specimen showing a slow crack velocity down to 0.03 mm/s under 0.01 mm/s of displacement control. Finite element analysis predicted that the DCDC specimens would show at least 4.3 fold delayed crack initiation time than conventional tensile fracture specimens under a constant loading speed. Using DCDC specimens, we were able to observe the in-situ crack propagation process in a particle reinforced transparent polymer composite. Our results confirmed that the DCDC specimen would be a good candidate for the in-situ observation of the behavior of particle reinforced composites with slow crack velocity, such as the self-healing process of micro-particle reinforced composites.

과학영재 학생을 위한 RSM 기반 천체관측 프로그램이 천문학적 공간개념과 자기주도적 학습능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of RSM-Based Astronomical Observation Program on Astronomical Spatial Concept and Self-Directed Learning for the Scientific Gifted Students)

  • 본 연구는 과학영재를 위한 울산과학관을 활용한 RSM(Regional Science Educational Resource Map; 지역 과학교육 자원지도) 기반 천체관측 프로그램을 개발하여 과학영재를 대상으로 체험학습 프로그램을 운영함으로써 그 효과성을 검증하고자 계획되었다. 이를 위하여 울산과학관에 설치되어 있는 천체투영실, 별보미 천체관측실 및 주관측실 등의 첨단 시설 및 기자재를 활용하여 RSM 기반 천체관측 프로그램(10차시)을 개발하였고, 이를 과학영재학생을 대상으로 운영한 후 이들의 천문학적 공간개념과 자기주도적 학습능력에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. 본 연구에서 개발한 RSM 기반 천체관측 프로그램은 준비단계(2차시), 관측단계(6차시), 정리단계(2 차시) 등 3단계로 구성하였으며, 관측단계에서는 천체투영실을 활용한 3D 시뮬레이션 별자리 관측(2차시), 밤 하늘의 별자리 안시 관측(2차시), 천체망원경을 활용한 망원경 관측(2차시) 등으로 구성하여 지역 과학교육 자원을 많이 활용할 수 있도록 구성하였다. RSM 기반 천체관측 프로그램이 과학영재의 천문학적 공간개념 및 자기주도적 학습능력에 미치는 효과를 살펴보기 위해 연구 대상은 울산과학관에서 운영하고 있는 우주과학 영재교실(초 5학년) 20명을 선정하였다. 검사도구는 천문학적 공간개념 및 자기주도적 학습능력 검사지를 사용하였고, 연구의 결과 분석은 종속표본 t검증으로 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 울산과학관을 활용한 천체관측 프로그램은 과학영재의 천문학적 공간개념(t=3.371, p=.003) 형성에 긍정적인 효과가 있었고(p<.05), 과학 영재의 자기주도적 학습능력(t=2.371, p=.028)에도 긍정적인 효과가 있었다(p<.05). 본 연구를 통해 RSM 기반 천체관측 프로그램은 과학영재들의 천문학적 공간개념 형성과 자기주도적 학습능력 신장에 도움이 된다는 것을 알 수 있었고, 특히 각 지역의 초, 중등 영재학급의 심화학습의 기회로써 RSM 기반 천체관측 프로그램을 활용할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

  • In every reciprocal crosses of self pollination, interspecific pollination through ordinary stigma pollination of L. longiflorum and $L.{\;}{\times}{\;}elegans$, pollen vigorously germinated in stigma, and pollen tube was growing. But, 5 days after pollination, pollen tube stopping their growth in the same style as was observed in the cross of self pollination and interspecific pollination. Intrastylar pollination of $L.{\;}{\times}{\;}elegans$ and L. longiflorum passed stylar cannal through the basal part of styles. But, pollen tube that was growing to the ovule of the ovary was extremely small. In morphogical observation of ovary 10 days after pollination, it was observed, that every reciprocal crosses of L. longiflorum ${\times}$ L. ${\times}$ elegans was fertilized through intrastylar pollination, so that this technique was used to overcome cross incompatibilities.lities.

수학 교사의 수업실천역량 향상을 위한 수업관찰도구의 역할 (The Role of Classroom Observation Instruments in Supporting Mathematics Teachers' Instructional Change)

  • Classroom observation instruments are often used to evaluate teachers' instructional practices and provide feedback to inform interventions or research studies, or professional development efforts. While designed as research tools, many classroom observation instruments can provide important information to support teachers' learning and instructional change by providing a focus for formative assessment or self-evaluation of practice. In this paper, we review two classroom observation tools and the protocols for their use with an implementation example for one of the tools. These tools are more foreign to the field compared to others but have features that might serve as affordances in relation to the purposes of a specific investigation.

  • 일변량 자료의 경우 대표관찰치는 사분위수 등에 기초하여 자료의 분포와 변이를 함축적으로 표현하기 위한 목적으로 사용되는 소수 개의 관찰치이다. Jones와 Rice(1992)는 다변량 자료에 대한 대표관찰치를 선택하기 위해 주성분분석에 근거한 방법을 제시한 바 있다. 이 연구에서는 주성분의 자기일치성을 이용하여 대표관찰치를 선택하고, 이를 표현하는 방안을 고찰한다. 기존의 방법에 의한 대표관찰치가 자료의 표본변이에 민감한 한편, 여기에서 제안되는 방법의 결과는 자기일치성을 가진다.

참여학습과 관찰학습의 실습만족도 및 임상수기술 (Satisfaction of Practice and Clinical Skill in Participation Learning and Observation Learning)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare satisfaction of practice and clinical skill in different participation learning and observation learning, and to offer the basic data to promote quality of nursing education. Method: The study used a quasi-experimental, nonequivalent control group post-test design. The subjects were 62 nursing students of K college in Jeonbuk, and the period of data gathering was limited from 19 Nov. 2006 to 30 Nov. 2006. Experience group was taught by hand-on education and control group was taught by conventional education. The instrument tools included self-efficacy, satisfaction of practice and clinical skill. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS-PC programme. Result: The results of this study were as follows: There was statistically a significance difference between the two group about satisfaction of practice(t=2.011 p=.043), and clinical skill(t=11.997, p=.000). Self-efficacy showed a significantly positive correlation with satisfaction of practice(r=.476, p=.000) and clinical skill(r=.178, p=.014). Also, satisfaction of practice showed a significantly positive correlation with clinical skill(r=.l82, p=.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, this study suggests that hand-on education is an effective learning method to nursing students. By utilizing hand-on education, makes nursing students plan self-directed nursing performance and improve their clinical skills.

관찰-추천제는 어떤 특성의 영재를 선발하는가?: 선발시험 vs. 교사관찰추천으로 본 영재들의 지능, 진로유형, 자기조절 학습능력 (Who are Identified through the Teacher Observation-recommendation System in the Aspects of Intelligence, Career Pattern, and Self-regulated Learning Ability?)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 다단계 선발방법에 의해 선발된 영재들과 새로운 전형인 관찰추천제도로 선발된 영재아동의 지능, 자기조절 학습능력, 진로유형 등 다양한 측면에서의 특성비교를 통하여 영재 선발 방식의 대안으로서 교사 추천 방식의 가능성과 한계에 대하여 탐색하고자 하였다. 결과를 살펴보면, 지능은 기존의 3단계 전형에 의해 선발된 영재(IQ=129.82)들과 관찰 추천제에 의해 선발된 영재들(IQ=130.54)은 유의한 차이가 없었다. 하지만 영역별로 살펴보면, 어휘적용력이나 이해력, 도식화 능력 등은 교사관찰추천제로 선발된 영재들이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 진로유형의 경우는 선발제도에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었는데, 기존 선발전형의 영재들은 탐구형(72%)이 월등히 많은 반면, 교사관찰추천제로 선발된 영재들은 탐구형을 포함하여 기업형, 사회형, 실제형, 관습형 등의 유형분포가 기존의 선발시험제도 영재들 보다 넓게 나타났다. 자기조절 학습능력에서는 과제인식, 학습신념의 통제가 기존 선발시험제도로 선발된 영재들이 유의한 차이로 높았으며, 시험불안, 시연, 정교화, 조직화, 동료학습에서는 교사관찰추천제로 선발된 영재들이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다.

초등과학영재학생의 자기주도성과 과학창의성의 관계 (The Relationship between Self-Directedness and Scientific Creativity of Science-Gifted Elementary Students)

  • This study analyzed the relationship between self-directedness of science-gifted elementary students and their expression of scientific creativity in science-gifted class. A science-gifted program on the topic of Hydraulic Machine was implemented to 34 fifth-graders in the Science-Gifted Education Center of an education office in Seoul, Korea for four weeks. The self-directedness of the gifted students was divided into three types of 'General, Scientific, and Topic-Related Self-Directedness'. The products of the students' activities were assessed by using a scientific creativity assessment formula. Qualitative research, such as analysis of observations and interviews, was also conducted in order to identify characteristics that were not apparently revealed by quantitative data. The main results of this study are as follows: First, science-gifted elementary students' general self-directedness and their scientific creativity were significantly correlated (r=.373). Second, the students' scientific self-directedness and scientific creativity did not have a significant correlation (r=.294). Third, there was a positive correlation between the students' topic-related self-directedness and their expression of scientific creativity. Their self-rated scores (r=.420) for the topic-related self-directedness and the number of activity types associated with the topic had a positive correlation (r=.350). Fourth, the students were categorized into four groups according to the levels of their self-directedness and scientific creativity, and the result showed that Type HH (high self-directedness and high scientific creativity) was the most common type (15 students, 38.5%), followed by Type LL (low self-directedness and low scientific creativity) (11 students, 28.2%). Eight (20.5%) and five students (12.8 %) belonged to Type LH (low self-directedness and high scientific creativity) and Type HL (high self-directedness and low scientific creativity) respectively. Fifth, the classroom observation of the students in groups revealed that groups with more number of Type HH demonstrated better cooperation and performance. Sixth, the analysis results of the observation were almost matched to the results of the self-directedness and scientific creativity tests. The students with higher self-directedness demonstrated active class participation and good cooperative skills. The students with higher scientific creativity had a tendency to generate creative ideas more frequently in given situations. Seventh, dynamic activities were perceived as enjoyable and exciting by 76.9% of the students, but static activities that require creativity were regarded as interesting only by 23.1% of the students. Among the students who were satisfied with both the creative and static activities, Type HH accounted for the largest proportion (55.6%). In conclusion, factors such as students' interests, initiatives, and attitudes displayed through voluntary participations originated from their own daily life can predict the degree of scientific creativity associated with the topic. Also, when students were categorized into four types according to the level of self-directedness and scientific creativity, there was a tendency of active behavior in class, cooperative skill, and activity satisfaction. This suggested that we should consider self-directedness and scientific creativity in selecting the gifted, grouping them in class, and designing and executing programs for science-gifted elementary students.
