The present study aimed to examine the relationships between work-related support factors and attitude towards teleworking and explore the moderating effect of self-identity on that relationship. The present study collected data from 343 IT professionals in South Korea through a survey method and used hierarchical multiple regression analyses. In the results, first, the more supervisory or work-related supports participants perceive in teleworking platforms, the more favorable their attitudes towards teleworking. Second, the positive relationship between supervisory support and attitude towards teleworking is stronger for participants high rather than low in interdependent self-view. However, interdependent self-view was found to have no significance on the relationship between work colleague support and attitude towards teleworking. This study is the first to examine the integral model of work-related support factors of attitude towards teleworking and explore the moderating effect of self-identity in the teleworking process.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing professional self-concept among nursing students. A descriptive survey design was used with convenience sample of 250 nursing students studying in 1 nursing college. The data were obtained from November 17 to 30, 2012 by self-reported questionnaire. The collected date were analyzed using SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The mean score for professional self-concept, self-esteem and, self-efficacy were at the intermediate level, with the value of 3.27, 3.14 and 3.78. There were moderate positive correlation between the professional self-concept and self-esteem(r=0.580, p<.001), the professional self-concept and self-efficacy (r=0.645, p<.001) and there were moderate positive correlation between self-esteem and self-efficacy(r=0.611, p<.001). The influencing factors in professional self-concept of nursing students were self esteem, self efficacy, and motivation of nursing(Adj $R^2=.479$). In order to encourage nursing college students professional self-concept, the nursing college should make efforts to develop a curriculum and program for improving self-esteem and self-efficacy.
Purpose: This study examined the influencing factors from the Transtheoretical Model on the stage of change in the self-management behaviors, i.e. regular physical activity and diet, among community-residing adults with hypertension in a rural area. Methods: With a cross-sectional descriptive design, 134 adults who had registered and received a prescription for hypertension medication from a public health center in W city were recruited using convenient sampling. The instrument was an interviewer-administered questionnaire on the stage of change, process of change, self-efficacy, and decisional balance of physical activity and diet. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, 2-sample t-test, ${\chi}^2$ test, and logistic regression. Results: The results revealed significant differences in the process of change, self-efficacy, and decisional balance of physical activity and diet between those who were in the pre-execution stage (precontemplation, contemplation, preparation) and those who were in the execution stage (action and maintenance). Logistic regression showed that consciousness raising and self-efficacy were significant predictors of the execution stage in physical activity, and self-reevaluation, social liberation and self-efficacy were significant predictors in the diet. Conclusion: The relevant processes of change, differentiated according to the stage of change, along with self-efficacy, should be addressed to enhance the execution of self-management behaviors among hypertensive adults residing in the community.
The purpose of this empirical study is to investigate the factors of self-leadership depending on individual characteristics, job characteristics, and qualities of leader-member exchange. Additionally, this study aims to discover the effect of self-leadership's outcome factors on organizational citizenship behavior and innovative activities. In order to verify research model and hypothesis, questionnaires were collected from department members working at general hospitals, hospitals, and clinics in metropolitan area of Seoul, which were 85 departments and 344 respondents. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS ver. 19.0 and Amos ver. 18.0 statistical package using Structural Equation Model. The results of the analysis showed that both individual characteristics and job characteristics have significant positive effect on self-leadership. Also, self-leadership had significant positive relationship on innovative action and organizational citizenship behavior. The implications of this study are as follow. First, this study empirically explained how self-leadership is applied in healthcare organizations. Second, it verified the relationship between causal factors and outcome factors of self-leadership. Also, prior researches of self-leadership have been conducted on business companies, but this study explored self-leadership at healthcare organizations, which increased external validity. Nowadays, many people are interested in the effect of leadership in order to overcome issues coming from enlarged organizations and to improve performance. Self-leadership will contribute to maximizing voluntary efforts of human resources and performance in a rapidly changing healthcare industry.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the workshop on the nurses' knowledge about urinary incontinence (UI) self-management, attitudes toward UI, and self-efficacy to plan and implement a UI self-help group program for their clients. Methods: A one-group pretest and posttest design was used to examine changes in knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy following a one-day training workshop. Twenty-seven community health nurses completed a questionnaire before and after the workshop. Before participating in the workshop, the participants were required to take a UI online continuing education program developed by the researchers. During the workshop, the participants took four sessions which consisted of an introduction of a self-help group program, demonstration of a 5-week UI self-management program contents, pelvic floor muscle training and biofeedback practice, and group discussions to plan the implementation in their workplaces. Results: A significant improvement in knowledge of and attitudes toward UI were found (t=3.53, p=.002; t=2.83, p=.009, respectively) after the workshop. Participants also demonstrated improvement in their self-efficacy to plan and operate a UI self-help group program (Z=-2.64, p=.008). Conclusion: The one-day workshop for community health nurses is a feasible strategy to increase their abilities and confidence in operating a UI self-help group program.
Objectives: Previous studies have reported that self-neglect, which may be a sign of elder abuse, can result in suicide among older adults. The signs of self-neglect and its impact on the risk of suicide may differ by gender. Thus, this study explored the association between self-neglect and suicide risk in older Korean adults and examined the potential moderating effect of gender on this relationship. Methods: Data were collected from 356 Korean adults aged 65 or older through an online survey. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the research hypothesis. First, the associations between 4 sub-dimensions of self-neglect (i.e., daily life management issues, personal hygiene issues, financial management issues, and relational issues) and suicidal ideation were examined. Then, the moderating effect of gender on these relationships was investigated by including interaction terms. Results: Self-neglect was significantly associated with suicidal ideation in older adults. Aspects of self-neglect related to daily life management and relational factors were key predictors of suicidal ideation. Gender significantly moderated the effect of the relational dimension of self-neglect on suicidal ideation. The relational dimension of self-neglect was more strongly associated with suicidal ideation in older women than in older men. Conclusions: The findings suggest the importance of screening older adults with signs of self-neglect for suicide risk. Special attention should be paid to older women who experience relational issues as a high-risk group for suicidal ideation. Public programs and support systems should be established to improve daily life management and promote social relationships among older adults.

These days, the business environment such as Information Technology (IT) is rapidly changing, and organizations are consistently trying to change themselves for the survival and success under the changing environment. In this situation, change management is very important because it draws the change behaviors of organization members for the success of organizational change. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the organization members' psychological factors on the performance of the acquisition of new IT, which is one of the most important organizational change. Based on previous studies in the area of organizational change, organization members' resistance to change, self-congruity theory, change activities and organizational performance, the research model is developed for validating the effect of organization members' self-congruity on the performance of the acquisition of new IT. Statistical analyses show that self-congruity has a significant effect on the change activities. In particular, private self-congruity has more impact on the change activities than public self-congruity. In addition, self-leadership, rewards and recognitions, and the diffusion of change activities have significant effects on job satisfaction. Self-leadership has a significant effect on organizational commitment.
Purpose : This study was aimed at examining the relationships of university students' self-efficacy to creative disposition and creative thinking ability. Method : A descriptive study was conducted with a sample of 320 students enrolled 4-year-undergraduate academic programs major in nursing as well as elderly care management in one University located in Pusan, Korea. This study used: (a) 24 items of Self-Efficacy Scale originally developed by Kim & Cha(1996), and (b) 39 items of creative thinking ability and 16 items of creative attitudes in a Self-Report Form of Integrative Creativity Scale developed by Bak & Kang(2006). The data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation and hierarchical multiple regression methods. Result : University students' self-efficacy has significantly positive impact on creative thinking ability(p<.001) with 26.4% of the variance and creative disposition(p<.001) with 48.9%. Creative thinking ability as well as the disposition related to creativity that university students possessed were significantly influenced by efficacy on self-control and efficacy on taking difficult tasks. Conclusion : This result supports Social Cognitive Theory and Investment Theory of Creativity in terms that self-efficacy is the factor affecting fostering creative ability and demonstration of creativity potential to the real. This also implies that healthcare educational programs reinforcing students' self-efficacy would contribute to breed them to healthcare professionals with creative competency.
Purpose: This research delves into the relationship between self-leadership and procrastination behavior in banking distribution networks. Based on the self-determination theory, the study explores how organizational commitment mediates the relationship between these variables. Moreover, the research considers the vital role that intrinsic motivation plays in enhancing and reinforcing these connections. Research design and methodology: Using data from 384 bank employees and partial least squares structural equation modeling, the research found evidence to support the theory. This methodological approach enabled the investigation to uncover the intricate links between self-leadership, procrastination behavior, organizational commitment, and intrinsic motivation. Results: The findings strongly support the hypotheses, indicating a negative association between self-leadership and procrastination behavior at the workplace; conversely, a positive correlation was found between self-leadership and organizational commitment. The discovery further strengthens the results that intrinsic motivation amplifies the positive relationship between self-leadership and organizational commitment. Conclusions: This research underscores the importance of cultivating a culture of self-leadership among banking distribution network employees. By doing so, procrastination can be substantially reduced, enhancing both productivity and overall performance. The study's insights are particularly valuable for organizational leaders in the banking sector, as they provide actionable pathways to foster a more committed, motivated, and efficient workforce.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self-leadership on self-efficacy and customer orientation and to verify whether there is a mediating effect of self-efficy on the relationship between self-leadership and customer orientation. Methods: To verify these research problems, the subjects of this study were a total of 300 Korean cabin crew members working for domestic and foreign airlines who received distributed questionnaires and 247 copies wee analysed using the SPSS 20.0 program. Results: First, it can be seen that the self-leadership of airline cabin crew has a significant positive (+) effect on self-efficacy, indicating that self-leadership has a positive effect on the self-efficacy of the members of the organization. Second, it was found that self-efficacy had a positive (+) effect on the customer orientation of airline cabin crew, and it was analyzed that self-efficacy played a partial mediating role in the relationship between self-leadership and customer orientation. Third, it was found that self-leadership had a positive (+) effect on customer orientation, and it was proved that behavior-oriented strategy, constructive accident pattern, and natural compensation strategy, which are three sub-factors of self-leadership of cabin crew, have an influence on customer orientation. Conclusion: based on these findings, the theoretical and practical implications of this study and directions for future research were presented.
