Comparison of Recombination Methods ad Cooling Factors in Genetic Algorithms Applied to Folding of Protein Model System

  • We varied recombination method of fenetic algorithm (GA), i.e., crossover step, to compare efficiency of these methods, and to find more optimum GA method. In one method (A), we select two conformations(parents) to be recombined by systematic combination of lowest energy conformations, and in the other (B), we select them in a ratio proportional to the energy of the conformation. Second variation lies in how to select crossover point. First, we select it randomly(1). Second, we select range of residues where internal energy of the molecule does not vary for more than two residues, select randomly among such regions, and we select either thr first (2a) or the second residue (2b) from the N-terminal side, or the first (2c) or the second residue (2d) from the C-terminal side in the selected region for crossover point. Third, we select longest such hregion, and select such residue(as cases 2) (3a, 3b, 3c or 3d) of the region. These methods were tested in a 2-dimensionl lattice system for 8 different sequences (the same ones used by Unger and Moult., 1993). Results show that compared to Unger and Moult's result(UM) which corresponds to B-1 case, our B-1 case performed similarly in overall. There are many cases where our new methods performed better than UM for some different sequences. When cooling factor affecting higher energy conformation to be accepted in Monte Carlo step was reduced, our B-1 and other cases performed better than UM; we found lower energy conformers, and found same energy conformers in a smaller steps. We discuss importance of cooling factor variation in Monte Carlo simulations of protein folding for different proteins. (A) method tends to find the minimum conformer faster than (B) method, and (3) method is superior or at least equal to (1) method.

  • Amenity landscapes in rural areas are becoming increasingly important as a resources to vitalize the rural areas. Befitting the times, The objectives of this study were 1) Extracting Landscape Evaluation photos: research preferences of 93 Photos taken from 15 site and analyze the possibility of Classification. select 12 photos for Image survey. 2)Adjectives select: Preliminary investigation into the 45 selected adjectives and adjectives by taking expert group of 21 adjectives were selected. Through reliability analysis, 19 adjective pairs were used to survey and factor analysis of images of landscape photographs. 3)Psychological characteristics of agricultural landscape survey and analysis: Psychological research on landscape photos and factor analysis, the agricultural production landscape to explain the 4 factors were extracted. And, each factor was discussed in relation to agricultural landscape.

소비가치에 따른 베이커리 선택속성이 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Consumption Values and Bakery Select Properties on Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구에서는 소비가치가 선택속성과 만족도에 미치는 영향요인들과 그 요인을 이용한 앞으로의 활용방안을 제시하고자 한다. 총 320부의 설문지를 배포하여 불성실하게 응답한 20부의 설문지를 제외한 나머지 300부의 유효한 설문지를 실증연구에 사용되었다. 조사 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 통계프로그램 SPSS 18.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 요인분석 및 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과를 보면 소비가치에 대한 측정항목의 탐색적 요인분석 결과, 3개 요인으로 KMO 값은 0.841, 총분산비율 72.937%, 선택속성에 대한 요인분석은 총분산비율 64.917%, KMO 값은 0.756로 나타났다. 만족도에 대한 요인분석은 총분산설명력 76.944%, KMO 값은 0.719로 나타났다. 변수들 간의 상관관계가 다른 변수에 의해 설명되는 정도가 좋게 분석되었고, 유의확률이 0.000으로 나타나 전반적으로 변수들 간의 상관관계는 유의적이다. 따라서 소비가치에 따른 선택속성과 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 가설은 부분채택되었다.

  • We have developed a new model selection criteria, the partial intrinsic Bayes factor, which is designed for cases when we select a model among a small number of candidate models. For example, we can choose only a few candidate models after exploring scatter plots. By simulation study, we have showed that PIBF performs better than AIC, BIC and GCV.

  • The BTL project, 4 years since its operation. has benchmarked the PFI Project in Japan and has been introduced. Given the evaluation step to select a preferred bidder, in a technological factor, the basic plans are corrected and complemented, whereas in a price factor, the low price bidding system is being enforced. There is concern that how to select preferred bidders and how to operate project costs during operation and management period may be problematic. Thus, in this study, using the Analytic Hierarchy Process, the method of deciding the priority to select preferred bidders in an early stage of the project and the evaluation model to evaluate the validity of BTL project expenses in process of project enforcement are established. Targeting the group composed of experts who have experiences in the BTL project. Then, the levelling of evaluation factors and grouping have been carried out as following : LCC analysis and disbursement for government including two more detailed factors.

  • This paper analyzes how to calculate the three phase short-circuit currents for ac electrical system and select the high & low voltage circuit breaker based on IEC60609, IEC60056 and IEC60947-2 standards. We proposed the multiplying factor considering system time constant and circuit breaker rating to select circuit breaker accurately.

미용성형 환자의 병원 선택 요인과 만족도 (Hospital Selection Factors and Degree of Satisfaction of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Patients)

  • Recently hospitals are trying to meet requests of patients by reflecting regular survey results of patients into hospital's management in order to increase patients' satisfaction and the rate of return visit. In this paper, degree of patients' satisfaction and the rate of return visit were analyzed using surveys of hospital selection factors and the characteristics of aesthetic plastic surgery. This analysis results can be used as data for setting up efficient management direction of aesthetic plastic surgery hospitals. In the main results, facilities and medical trust factor was the primary cause for aesthetic plastic surgery patients to select hospitals and the results showed that hospitals have to consider carefully not only aesthetic plastic surgery patients but also guardians such as parents or friends because patients are acquiring surgery information from them. The results also showed approachableness to hospitals was not important factor to select a hospital.

산업제품의 표준치 설정을 위한 체형특성의 인간공학적 연구 (An Analysis of Body Feature to the Optimal Size of Industrial Products)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the method to select optimal size for the industrial products which are closely related to human's body size. For this purpose, human factors such as body characteristics, body features, and preference in product selection which needs to be considered in setting standards were analyzed. This analysis is to select optimal size to minimize losses caused by the difference of size between demand by the customers and supply from the manufacturers. Using loss function, repetitive calculation process algorithm by using bisearch method was applied in selecting the sizes of demand and supply which minimize the total expected losses. For cumulative normal distribution probability, IMSL routine DNORDF was used. In case study, comparison has been made between the result which was calculated using presented algorithm and the results calculated by the process currently used by KS and ISO by measuring aged women's body size in human factors side and sorting them through the factor analysis and cluster analysis for feature factor extraction. Thus, they can be used as a basis for establishing industrial product standards.

전자제품용 컴프레서의 가속열화시험에 관한 연구 (An Accelerated Degradation Test of a Electronics Appliance Compressor)

  • In this paper, an accelerated degradation test procedure for an electronic appliance compressor is proposed. We investigate the amount of wear of the compressor and consider several factors as accelerating factors. Finally we select the operating pressure as a main accelerating factor. The test condition of accelerated degradation test is determined. The modified accelerating test reduces the test time in design phase by using the suggested accelerating factor.

천공상태에 따른 오피스 창호의 적정 투과율 선정 (Selection to the Optimal Windows Transmittance of Office Building on Sky Conditions)

  • The purpose of this study is to select the optimal and minimum transmittance for visual amenity in office buildings. This study progressed as follows. The first, we select 5 films with various transmittance based on the current film makers whose films being used on the windows of office building nowadays and the case study of construction. And then we choose 6 kinds of transmittance as evaluation object including plain glass. The second, we made a mock-up models having different transmittance on the southern windows with model of real scale office building. The third, we select 17 pairs of adjectives for the evaluation of visual comfort on interior or exterior conditions with transmittance factor. The fourth, subjective evaluation experiment was done using selected evaluation adjectives and the result was analyzed. The results are as follows : the minimum transmittance appropriate for the office building is 30%∼40% and the optimal transmittance range is 40%∼60%.
