  • QR Code is a two-dimensional code in the form of a matrix that contains data in a square-shaped black-and-white grid pattern, and has recently been used in various fields. In particular, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the usage increased rapidly by identifying the movement path in the form of a QR code that anyone can easily and conveniently use. As such, Qshing attacks and damages using QR codes are increasing in proportion to the usage of QR codes. Therefore, in this paper, a system was implemented to block movement to harmful sites and installation of malicious codes when scanning QR codes.

  • SIn this paper, we introduce our experience for designing and implementing new concept of a global XML-based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) engine to support various P2P applications, and interconnection among PC, Web and mobile computing environments. The proposed P2P engine can support to heterogeneous data exchanges and web interconnection by facilitating with the text-base XML while message exchange are necessary. It is also to provide multi-level security functions as well as to apply different types of security algorithms. The system consist of four modules; a message dispatcher to scheduling and filtering the message, a SecureNet to providing security services and data transmission, a Discovery Manager to constructing peer-to-peer networking, and a Repository Manager to processing data management including XML documents. As a feasibility test, we implement various P2P services such as chatting as a communication service, white-board as an authoring tool set during collaborative working, and a file system as a file sharing service. We also compared the proposed system to a Gnutella in order to measure performance of the systems.

  • More and more problems for public security have occurred due to the limited solutions for drone detection especially for micro-drone in long range conditions. This paper aims at dealing with drones detection using a radar system. The radio frequency (RF) signals emitted by a controller can be acquired using the radar, which are usually too weak to extract. To detect the drone successfully, the static clutters and linear trend terms are suppressed based on the background estimation algorithm and linear trend suppression. The principal component analysis technique is used to classify the noises and effective RF signals. The automatic gain control technique is used to enhance the signal to noise ratios (SNR) of RF signals. Meanwhile, the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based wavelet transform (WT) is developed to decrease the influences of the Gaussian white noises. Then, both the azimuth information between the drone and radar and the bandwidth of the RF signals are acquired based on the statistical analysis algorithm developed in this paper. Meanwhile, the proposed accumulation algorithm can also provide the bandwidth estimation, which can be used to make a decision accurately whether there are drones or not in the detection environments based on the probability theory. The detection performance is validated with several experiments conducted outdoors with strong interferences.

  • Sharing cross-site resources has been adopted by many recent websites in the forms of service-mashup and social network services. In this change, exploitation of the new vulnerabilities increases, which includes inserting malicious codes into the interaction points between clients and services instead of attacking the websites directly. In this paper, we present a system model to identify malicious script codes in the web contents by means of a remote verification while the web contents downloaded from multiple trusted origins are executed in a client's browser space. Our system classifies verification items according to the origin of request based on the information on the service code implementation and stores the verification results into three databases composed of white, gray, and black lists. Through the experimental evaluations, we have confirmed that our system provides clients with increased security by effectively detecting malicious scripts in the mashup web environment.

  • In recent years, the Television White Space (TVWS) has attracted the interest of many researchers due to its propagation characteristics obtainable between 470MHz and 790MHz spectrum bands. The plenty of unused channels in the TV spectrum allows the secondary users (SUs) to use the channels for broadband services especially in rural areas. However, when the number of SUs increases in the TVWS wireless network the aggregate interference also increases. Aggregate interferences are the combined harmful interferences that can include both co-channel and adjacent interferences. The aggregate interference on the side of Primary Users (PUs) has been extensively scrutinized. Therefore, resource allocation (power and spectrum) is crucial when designing the TVWS network to avoid interferences from Secondary Users (SUs) to PUs and among SUs themselves. This paper proposes a model to improve the resource allocation for reducing the aggregate interface among SUs for broadband services in rural areas. The proposed model uses joint power and spectrum hybrid Firefly algorithm (FA), Genetic algorithm (GA), and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO) which is considered the Co-channel interference (CCI) and Adjacent Channel Interference (ACI). The algorithm is integrated with the admission control algorithm so that; there is a possibility to remove some of the SUs in the TVWS network whenever the SINR threshold for SUs and PU are not met. We considered the infeasible system whereby all SUs and PU may not be supported simultaneously. Therefore, we proposed a joint spectrum and power allocation with an admission control algorithm whose better complexity and performance than the ones which have been proposed in the existing algorithms in the literature. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared using the metrics such as sum throughput, PU SINR, algorithm running time and SU SINR less than threshold and the results show that the PSOFAGA with ELGR admission control algorithm has best performance compared to GA, PSO, FA, and FAGAPSO algorithms.

  • Blacklist-based tools are most commonly used to effectively detect suspected malicious processes. The blacklist-based tool compares the malicious code extracted from the existing malicious code with the malicious code. Therefore, it is most effective to detect known malicious codes, but there is a limit to detecting malicious code variants. In order to solve this problem, the necessity of a white list-based tool, which is the opposite of black list, has emerged. Whitelist-based tools do not extract features of malicious code processes, but rather collect reliable processes and verify that the process that checks them is a trusted process. In other words, if malicious code is created using a new vulnerability or if variant malicious code appears, it is not in the list of trusted processes, so it can effectively detect malicious code. In this paper, we propose a method for effectively building a whitelist through research that collects reliable processes in the macOS operating system.

  • While various phishing attacks are getting to be increased in constant, their response methods still stay on the stage of responding after identifying an attack. To detect a phishing site ahead of an attack, a method has been suggested with utilizing the Referer header field of HTTP. However, it has a limitation to implement a traffic gathering system for each of prospective target hosts. This paper presents a unknown phishing site detection method in the Interior network environment. Whenever a user try to connect a phishing site, its traffic is pre-processed with considering of the characteristics of HTTP protocol and phishing site. The phishing site detection phase detects a suspicious site under phishing with analysing HTTP content. To validate the proposed method, some evaluations were conducted with 100 phishing URLs along with 100 normal URLs. The experimental results show that our method achieves higher phishing site detection rate than that of existing detection methods, as 66% detection rate for the phishing URLs, and 0% false negative rate for the normal URLs.

  • Accessing unauthorized rogue APs in WiFi environments is a very dangerous behavior which may lead WiFi users to be exposed to the various cyber attacks such as sniffing, phishing, and pharming attacks. Therefore, prompt and precise detection of rogue APs and properly alarming to the corresponding users has become one of most essential requirements for the WiFi security. This paper proposes a new rogue AP detection method which is mainly using the installation information of authorized APs and the DHCP snooping information of the corresponding switches. The proposed method detects rogue APs promptly and precisely, and notify in realtime to the corresponding users. Since the proposed method is simple and does not require any special devices, it is very cost-effective comparing to the wireless intrusion prevention systems which are normally based on a number of detection sensors and servers. And it is highly precise and prompt in rogue AP detection and flexible in deployment comparing to the existing rogue AP detection methods based on the timing information, location information, and white list information.
