환경교육에서 과학적 지식과 윤리적 가치의 관계 (Thre Relationaship of Scientific Knowledge and Ethical Value in Environmental Education)

  • The objective of this study was to review the meaning and problems of Scientific Knowledge and Ethical Value in Environmental Education. The ultimate goal of environmental education is shaping proenvironmental human behavior. The factors of human behavioral decision making are ideology, value, attitude and behavioral intentions. Ideology is a kind of belief system used by social groups to interpret their social world. The main elements of belief system are knowledge and value. The traditional thinking in education has been that we can change behavior by making human beings more knowledgeable and more valuable. In environmental education, the aim of scientific inquiry is to analysis cause-effect relation of human beings behavior and environmental phenomenon, and ethical education is to change the mind of human beings from zero-sum to positive-sum about the relations between human beings and natural environments. But, there are many problems of knowledge education and value education in environmental education. For example scientific knowledge without ethical value is dangerous to environment protection, and ethical value without scientific knowledge is vague. Therefore, we must recognize that the relationship of ethical value and scientific knowledge is not substitutional but complementary. The teaching-learning methods which can integrate knowledge and value in environmental education are rational decision making model. For this model, we can construct teaching contents with inquiry materials. To earn the benefits of specialization among several subjects in environmental education, social studies can focus on social science knowledge and decision making, science education can focus on pure natural science knowledge and scientific investigation, moral education can focus on problems of ethical value system, home economics can focus on practical action and environmental education(Environments in middle school, Ecology and Environments in high school) can integrate social-national science knowledge and ethical value in broad perspective about human beings and ecosystem. That is the method to protect from law of diminishing marginal utility of learning in environmental education.

블록형 코딩프로그램을 활용한 지구과학 수업에서 학생들의 컴퓨팅 사고력에 대한 인식 및 과학적 태도 변화 연구 (A Study on the Change of the Perception of Students' Computational Thinking and Scientific Attitudes in Earth Science Classes Using a Block-based Coding)

  • 이 연구에서는 창의교육의 일환으로 컴퓨팅 사고력을 개발할 수 있는 블록형 코딩프로그램을 활용해 지구과학 교수 학습에 적용하여 컴퓨팅 사고력에 대한 인식과 과학적 태도가 어떻게 변화되는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 결론을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학생들에게 적용할 수 있는 블록형 코딩프로그램을 활용한 지구과학 교육프로그램을 개발하였다. 총 12차시로 구성된 프로그램은 학생 활동중심의 문제를 제공하여 다양한 사고를 학생들이 유도할 수 있도록 탐구활동을 설계하였다. 둘째, 블록형 코딩프로그램을 활용한 지구과학 교육프로그램을 통해 컴퓨터 프로그램 활용에 대한 자신감, 컴퓨터 활용통합학습, 컴퓨팅 사고력에 대한 자신감 및 컴퓨팅 사고력을 활용한 문제해결 요인에서 유의미한 결과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 블록형 코딩프로그램을 활용한 지구과학 교육프로그램은 호기심, 비판성, 협동성, 끈기, 창의성 항목에서 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 이것은 학생들이 문제를 접했을 때 의문을 갖고 이를 해결하는 과정에서 효과를 나타낸 것이라고 판단할 수 있다.

가설-연역적 수업 프로그램이 창의적 사고와 비판적 사고 및 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Hypothetico-deductive Teaching Programs on Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking and Scientific Attitude)

  • 이 연구는 가설-연역적 방법론에 따른 수업 모형의 개발과 그에 따라 고안된 수업 프로그램의 현장 적용이 창의적 사고, 비판적 사고 및 과학적 태도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위한 목적으로 실시되었다. 먼저, 가설-연역적 방법론에 따른 수업 모형을 개발하였고, 개발한 모형을 직접 활용할 수 있도록 수업 프로그램을 고안하여 학교 현장에 적용하였다. 연구 결과 수업 프로그램의 적용은 창의적 사고력 및 비판적 사고력을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가설-연역적 수업 프로그램은 과학적 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 수업 프로그램에 참여한 학생들을 대상으로 가설-연역적 수업 프로그램에 대한 의견을 설문 조사한 결과, 학생들은 수업 프로그램을 진행하는 과정에서 과학적인 생각, 새로운 생각, 비판적인 생각을 계속 해야 하는 것에 어려움을 느끼고 부담스러워했으나, 수업 프로그램이 종료된 후에는 스스로 생각하는 능력이 생겼다고 진술하였다.

중학교 과학 영재 학생의 과학 관련 태도에 관한 연구 (Study on Attitude of Science Gifted and Talented Middle School Students toward Science)

  • 본 연구는 중학교 과학영재 학생들의 과학관련 태도에 대하여 조사하였다. 조사 도구는 TOSRA를 우리나라 중학교 학생에 맞게 수정 보완하여 사용하였으며, 1999년도 서울대학교 과학영재 센터의 제 2기 입학생 131명을 연구 대상으로 하여 조사하였다. 서울대학교 과학영재교육센터의 입학생은 수학, 물리, 화학, 생물 및 지구과학 등 5개 분과로 구성되어 있다. 중학교 과학영재들의 과학관련 태도 수준은 전체적으로 남녀 학생간에 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, '과학에 대한 직업적 관심' 영역에서만 과학영재 남학생들이 여학생들에 비해 높은 수준을 갖는 것으로 조사되었다. 과학관련 태도 각 영역에 대한 비교에서는 과학 영재 학생들이 '과학에 대한 취미적 관심' 영역에서 가장 높은 태도 점수를 나타낸 반면에, '과학자의 평범성' 영역에서는 가장 낮은 수준을 나타내었다. 과학 영재들의 분과에 따른 비교에서는 화학 분과를 제외하고는 다른 분과간에는 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, 특히 화학 분과 영재들은 수학 분과에 비해서'과학적 태도의 수용' 영역에서 매우 높게 나타났다. 과학 영재들의 과학적 특성을 파악하고 유지시켜 줄 수 있는 연구와 과학 영재 학생을 위한 과학 영재 자신의 자아실현을 위함과 국가의 과학적 발전에 기여할 수 있는 특수한 교육 프로그램의 개발은 물론 사회적 및 국가적 지원이 있어야 할 것이다.

의대생들의 한의학 진단 및 치료에 대한 인식 조사 (Attitude and Recognition of Medical School Students on Korean Traditional Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment)

  • Objectives : This study was aimed to facilitate mutual comprehension between Western and Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM) by analyzing recognition of medical school students on traditional medical prescription and treatment such as herbal medicines and acupuncture. Methods : We conducted a survey targeting medical school students of four medical schools from April through May 2009, and analyzed 208 cases responded. Results : Survey results revealed that medical school students took knowledge of traditional medicine from TV programs and on the Web in general. They thought they had considerable traditional medical knowledge but did not almost understand for professional contents. Regardless of some positive recognition for traditional herbal medicine, negative perspectives were more common and its safety and efficacy on the drug reference were considered as a major reason. On the other hand, recognition on acupuncture was comparatively positive. Scientific data for both herbal medicine and acupuncture are lacking in reality but the attitude only for acupuncture was different. Of the survey respondents, 57.8% had negative attitude against diagnostic methods of TKM and 59.1% opposed to the usage of modern medical equipments by TKM doctors. With regard to the future position of TKM, they tacitly approved that TKM would be absorbed into the complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) and importance of TKM objectification, followed by Government's support. Conclusions : Medical school students neither affirm nor deny TKM as a whole but the state of awareness for each item was similar to the physician. In terms of TKM its internal and external innovation would be required to continuously establish objectification of TKM prescription and scientific research on treatment technology.

대체의료에 대한 한의사들의 인식도 (Attitude and Recognition of Oriental Medical Doctors on Alternative Medicine)

  • This study was carried out to examine the attitude and recognition of oriental medical doctors on alternative medicine, which is increasingly used across the country. The data were collected from 264 oriental medical doctors who were working in oriental medical clinics in Daegu City, Gyeongbuk Province, using self-administered questionnaire from 1 March to 15 April 2007. Generally, the respondents have some positive attitude and recognition on alternative medicine including knowledge, interest and usefulness, efficacy of alternative medicine. However, they have some negative view on the expense of alternative medicine. And they also thought that introducing alternative medicine in their clinics was needed for better treatment and actually about 70% of the respondents recommended or applied alternative medicine to their patients. Around 40% of the respondents did not have the chance of education on alternative medicine officially. About 60% of the respondents thought that the oriental medical school was the best institute to provide the education of alternative medicine, followed by the oriental medical doctors's association. For the development of alternative medicine, they thought that the scientific research on alternative medicine by oriental medical doctors and professionals was highly needed.

Antecedents Affecting Purchase Intention of Green Skincare Products: A Case Study in Vietnam

  • The study aims to investigate the antecedents affecting purchase intention in the category of green skincare products. Many studies have used the theory of planned behavior to investigate factors affecting intention to purchase products in general. This paper not only retests the influences of attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control on the intention to buy eco-friendly skincare products but also suggests a new antecedent - environment knowledge of purchase intention. More importantly, this study is the first to propose the moderating effect of country of origin and product knowledge on the relationship between attitude and purchase intention. This study employs a sample of 350 female customers from 18 to 39 years old in Ho Chi Minh City. The research applies the Multiple Linear Regression to analyze the proposed hypotheses in the conceptual framework and results in significant outcomes. The result shows that attitude is the most influential factor then, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and environmental knowledge. Most importantly, the findings of this study suggest that product knowledge is found to moderate the effect of attitude on purchase intention. The finding of moderating effect is a new contribution to the literature and future research can be carried out to validate this result.

The Core Values that Support Health, Safety, and Well-being at Work

  • Background: Health, safety, and well-being (HSW) at work represent important values in themselves. It seems, however, that other values can contribute to HSW. This is to some extent reflected in the scientific literature in the attention paid to values like trust or justice. However, an overview of what values are important for HSW was not available. Our central research question was: what organizational values are supportive of health, safety, and well-being at work? Methods: The literature was explored via the snowball approach to identify values and value-laden factors that support HSW. Twenty-nine factors were identified as relevant, including synonyms. In the next step, these were clustered around seven core values. Finally, these core values were structured into three main clusters. Results: The first value cluster is characterized by a positive attitude toward people and their "being"; it comprises the core values of interconnectedness, participation, and trust. The second value cluster is relevant for the organizational and individual "doing", for actions planned or undertaken, and comprises justice and responsibility. The third value cluster is relevant for "becoming" and is characterized by the alignment of personal and organizational development; it comprises the values of growth and resilience. Conclusion: The three clusters of core values identified can be regarded as "basic value assumptions" that underlie both organizational culture and prevention culture. The core values identified form a natural and perhaps necessary aspect of a prevention culture, complementary to the focus on rational and informed behavior when dealing with HSW risks.

SATIS 14-16 생물영역 단원의 학습목표 분석 (An Analysis of Learning Objectives of Biology Contents in SATIS 14-16)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze learning objectives of biology contents in SATIS 14-16. Modified the 5th NAEP three dimentional science assessment framework was used to analyze learning objectives of SATIS 14-16. This study will be a basic data for the development of STS programs in KOREA. The following results were obtained. 1. In a content dimension, 'structures and functions of organism'(63.9%) was the most frequently found, followed by 'the nature and our Iives'(22.1%), 'a continuity of Iife'(9.4%) and 'our surrounding Iives'(4.7%). 2. In a cognitive dimension, an understanding of scientific knowledge(32.7%) was the most frequently found, followed by an improvement of inquiry ability(25.6%), attitude(24.7%), and scientific knowledge and its application(17.0%). 3. In a context dimension, a personal context(32.8%) was the most frequently found, followed by a social context(27.3%), a scientific context(20.0%) and a technological context(20.0%). 4. There were some differences in behavior when each content was compared. In 'surrounding lives' and 'a continuity of life', an understanding of scientific knowledge was the most frequently found. In 'structures and functions of organism' and 'the nature and our lives', proportions of four behavioral catagories were relatively even. 5. There were some differences in context when each content was compared. In 'surrounding lives', scientific context was the most frequently found, whereas in 'structures and functions of lives', individual context was found the most frequently. In 'a continuity of life', scientific and social context were found more frequently than others. In 'the nature and our lives', social context was the most frequent one.

교사와 학생의 상호작용이 강조된 온-오프라인 혼합형 학습이 학습 환경에 대한 인식과 과학 관련 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of On-Off Line Blended Learning in Emphasizing the Interaction Between Teacher and Students on the Perception about Learning Environment and Science-Related Attitude)

  • 학교 교육은 디지털 시대로의 교육환경의 변화 및 학습자 중심의 교육에 대한 강조와 그에 따른 교사 역할의 변화 등을 받아들이면서 변화하고 있다. 이런 변화에서 e-learning은 적절한 학습 환경으로 각광받아왔으나, 학습에서 중요한 요소인 상호작용의 부재로 인한 문제점이 드러났다. 그리하여 이 연구에서는 학생들에게 학교 홈페이지를 활용한 학습에 대한 설문 조사를 토대로, 교사와 학생 간 상호작용을 강조한 수업 환경 조성을 위해 가상 공간과 물리적 공간을 오가며 학습하는 혼합형 학습을 실시하였다. 연구를 위해 G중학교 2학년에서 비교집단 1개 반(40명)과 실험집단 1개 반(40명)을 선정하였다. 비교집단에서는 강의 및 토의식 수업을 실시하였고, 실험집단에서는 교사와 학생의 상호작용이 강조된 혼합형 학습 수업을 실시하였다. 실험처치는 '물질의 특성' 단원 중 8차시에 걸쳐 진행되었다. 혼합형 학습에 대한 인식과 효과를 알아보기 위하여 사전 사후에 설문조사와 과학 관련 태도 검사를 실시하였다. 검사 결과, 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 과학적 사고와 태도가 자극되어 과학 학습에 대한 흥미와 자신감을 가지게 되었다. 이러한 검사 결과는 비교집단에 비해 실험집단은 혼합형 학습을 통해 교사의 안내 및 피드백을 더 쉽게 제공 받음으로써 교사와 학생 간 상호작용의 기회를 더욱 부여받을 수 있었기 때문이다. 혼합형 학습은 학생들로 하여금 시간과 공간의 제약 없이 자신의 경험을 표현할 수 있게 하고, 교사와 학생의 학습 관련 상호작용을 촉진시키므로 학생들의 과학 관련 태도 향상에 도움이 되는 학습 방법으로 제안될 수 있다.
