The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of parental rearing attitudes on smartphone addiction and mediation effect of children's aggression and impulse between them. The randomly chosen 390 subjects of the 4th and 5th elementary school students (boy: 199, girl: 191) of J City participated in this research. The main scales were EMBU-Shot, Smartphone Addiction Scale and NEO-PAS. Spss 22.0 was used for its statistical analysis, that is correlation analysis and regression analysis. The main results are as follows. First, parental rearing attitude, smartphone addiction, and aggression and impulse were statistically significantly correlated. Second, it is testified that rejective parental rearing attitudes statistically significantly increasingly influenced smartphone addiction with partial mediation of aggression and impulse. Also overprotective parental rearing attitudes statistically significantly increasingly influenced smartphone addiction with full mediation of them. It suggested the importance of intervention for aggression and impulse of the children with smartphone addiction as well as parental rearing attitude changes in intervening and counseling them. This study tried to supply evidence-based and basic data for the developing preventive education and counseling programs for them. The limit and future tasks were discussed.
This case study aimed to investigate changes in self-expression following participation in a rap making program with adolescent survivors of childhood cancer. The rap making program was constructed based on the contextual support music therapy model. Three adolescent survivors of childhood cancer participated in six 80-minute individual sessions. During the sessions, each participant engaged in the following tasks: song discussion, lyric creation, and rapping over a selected beat. At pre and posttest, the Self-Expression Scale was completed by participants. Their verbal expressions lyrics were observed during the sessions, and individual interviews with the participants were conducted at the completion of the program. The results demonstrated that the mean rating of the Self-Expression Scale increased after the rap making intervention. Analysis of the participants' verbal expressions and lyrics demonstrated that participants were experiencing difficulties adjusting to school that they wanted to resolve. Furthermore, the analysis of the interviews at posttest found that participants experienced positive changes in self-perception, self-expression, and expectations for their future, compared to the pretest when the participants expressed negative self-perceptions due to difficulties in interpersonal relationships at school and physical limitations. This indicates that rap making can be an effective resource for providing this population with the means to recognize positive attributes about themselves and improve self-expression.
In this study, the various effects of Salicornia herbacea, including antioxidative function, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory effect, and the effect of sebiparous reduction due to intervention of the DHT hormone were investigated using. The result of this study Based on this analysis, the serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, and WBC were found to be significantly decreased and SOD, Ca, K, and Zn were shown to be significantly increased significantly in the group that received the SH pill group after trial fora 12 week trials. Testosterone and DHT were increased in the SH pill group, but it was not statistically significant. In the case of the skin condition measurements, the number of blackhead pores, skin oiliness, keratin and, MIC were significantly decreased, and the pH was decreased to normal pH in the SH pill group. Therefore, it was confirmed that overall skin condition was improved due to Salicornia herbacea diet. The results of this research result can contribute so demonstrate the potential of actively using that the Salicornia herbacea can be actively developed as a health supplement, and a medication.
Background: Elderly patients with gastrointestinal (GI) and cardiovascular (CV) risk factors may be more easily exposed to NSAID-related side effects (SEs). Based on the ACG guideline of year 2009, the aim of the study is to evaluate proper use of NSAIDs and gastroprotective drugs according to the degree of GI and CV risk strengths in the patients. Methods: Retrospectively surveyed 410 elderly patients with NSAIDs for more than 30 days at a general hospital in Korea. GI risk factor includes age, ulcer history, high-dose NSIADs, concurrent aspirin use, steroids or anticoagulants. CV risk factor includes angina, myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction, atrial fibrillation or coronary intervention requiring low-dose aspirin. These factors were classified as high/low cardiovascular groups and high/moderate/low GI groups. Results: There were 14 patients in high CV risk group and high GI risk group. The group was recommended not to use NSAIDs as it is not adequate. There were 101 patients in high CV risk group and moderate GI risk group. This group was recommended to use naproxen and PPI/misoprostol. But all patients except one were not adequate. There were 9 patients in low CV risk group and high GI risk group. This group was recommended to use selective COX-2 inhibitor and PPI/misoprostol. 5 cases were proper while 4 cases did not. There were 285 patients in low CV risk and moderate GI risk group who were recommended to use non selective NSAIDs and PPI/misoprostol or selective COX-2 inhibitor only. 103 patients were proper while 182 patients not adequate. Overall, the SEs were higher in those cases for inadequate use of drugs comparing to the adequate. CV SEs were statistically significant. However, SEs for each risk groups were different. For the case of low CV risk group and high/moderate GI risk group, the inadequate use of drugs makes the SE high and the other groups are not. Also, it was not statistically significant. Conclusions: In elderly patients, the inappropriate use of NSAIDs can increase the risk of the disease. Therefore, GI and CV risk must be considered simultaneously, and the proper use of NSAIDs and gastroprotective drugs for each risk groups should be reconsidered.
Epistemological development process of the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus is considered in a history of mathematical notions and the genetic process of the Fundamental Theorem is arranged by the order of geometric, algebraic and formalization steps. Based on this, we studied students' episte- mological obstacles and error and analyzed the content of textbooks related the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Then, We developed the "Folding Back Model" of the fundamental theorem of calculus for students to lead meaningful faithfully. The Folding Back Model consists of "the Framework of thou- ght"(figure V-1) and "the Model of genetic understanding of concept"(figure V-2). The framework of thought in the Folding Back Model is included steps of pedagogical intervention which is used "the Monitoring working questions"(table V-3) by the mathematics teacher. The Folding Back Model is applied the Pirie-Kieren Theory(1991), history of mathematical notions and students' epistemological obstacles to practical use of instructional design. The Folding Back Model will contribute the professional development of mathematics teachers and improvement of thinking skills of students when they learn the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus.
Objective : This study intends to identify the effects of the Doin Gigong Exercise on the shoulder-arm pain in Women. Methods : The study was performed with nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A total of 45 subjects were divided into 25 persons in experimental groups and 20 persons in contrastive group by convenience sampling. The data were collected by using questionnaires and measured values from June, 2004, to August, 2004. Results : The results of the study are as follows: 1. The homogeneity testing revealed that most study variables were equally distributed between experimental and control groups. 2. The first hypothesis: The experimental group who performed the Doin Gigong Exercise and who decreased on the subjective symptom scale was supported(t=10.245, p=.000). 3. The scond hypothesis : The experimental group who received Doin Gigong Exercise and who decreased on the subjective pain(VAS) was supported(t=6.816, p=.000). 4. The third hypothesis: The experimental group who received Doin Gigong Exercise and who decreased on the muscular stiffness measured techniques(UNIQUE) was supported (t=7.114, p.000). Conclusions : Based on the results described above, it is considered that the Doin Gigon Exercise is clearly effective in all an values of the 5 measured. Therefore, the Doin Gigong Exercise can be thought of as effective nursing intervention for the reduction of shoulder-arm pain in women.

Image quality of computed tomography (CT) is very vulnerable to metal artifacts. Recently, the thickness and background normalization techniques have been introduced. Since they provide flat sinograms, it is easy to determine metal traces and a simple linear interpolation would be enough to describe the missing data in sinograms. In this study, we have developed a theory describing two normalization methods and compared two methods with respect to various sizes and numbers of metal inserts by using simple numerical simulations. The developed theory showed that the background normalization provide flatter sinograms than the thickness normalization, which was validated with the simulation results. Numerical simulation results with respect to various sizes and numbers of metal inserts showed that the background normalization was better than the thickness normalization for metal artifact corrections. Although the residual artifacts still existed, we have showed that the background normalization without the segmentation procedure was better than the thickness normalization for metal artifact corrections. Since the background normalization without the segmentation procedure is simple and it does not require any users' intervention, it can be readily installed in conventional CT systems.

Objectives: Reduced glucose utilization in the main parts of the brain involved in memory is a major cause of Alzheimer's disease, in which ketone bodies are used as the only and effective alternative energy source of glucose. This study examined the effects of a low-carbohydrate and high-fat (LCHF) diet supplemented with a ketogenic nutrition drink on cognitive function and physical activity in the elderly at high risk for dementia. Methods: The participants of this study were 28 healthy elderly aged 60-91 years showing a high risk factor of dementia or whose Korean Mini-Mental State Examination (K-MMSE) score was less than 24 points. Over 3 weeks, the case group was given an LCHF diet with nutrition drinks consisting of a ketone/non-ketone ratio of 1.73:1, whereas the control group consumed well-balanced nutrition drinks while maintaining a normal diet. After 3 weeks, K-MMSE, body composition, urine ketone bodies, and physical ability were all evaluated. Results: Urine ketone bodies of all case group subjects were positive, and K-MMSE score was significantly elevated in the case group only (p=0.021). Weight and BMI were elevated in the control group only (p<0.05). Grip strength was elevated in all subjects (p<0.01), and measurements of gait speed and one leg balance were improved only in the case group (p<0.05). Conclusions: We suggest that adherence to the LCHF diet supplemented with a ketogenic drink could possibly influence cognitive and physical function in the elderly with a high risk factor for dementia. Further, we confirmed the applicability of this dietary intervention in the elderly based on its lack of any side effects or changes in nutritional status.

This study is based on the theory of salutogenesis, and investigates factors affecting the health status of radiologists who experience high stress and health problems in the rapidly changing medical environment. The study enrolled 379 radiologists working at hospitals in Daegu. A health structure model was established by applying the theory of salutogenesis. Sense of coherence had a direct effect on the health status of radiologists. Psychological stress, social support, and drinking were also influential factors, due to their mediating effect on the sense of coherence. Moreover, social support was also found to be lower when job stresses were higher. Hence, increased psychological stress resulted in lower levels of sense of coherence, social support and exercise. Taken together, results of this study indicate that effects on the sense of coherence have maximum influence on the health status of radiologists, and social support among general resistance resources is an important factor for enhancing sense of coherence. In addition to social support and health behaviors, researches involving various resources and the development of organizational strategies and health promotion intervention programs are required in future, to enable radiologists to cope with their stresses and improve health.

Background: Several epidemiologic studies have suggested that the urine sodium excretion (USE) can be estimated in lieu of performing 24-hour urine collection. However, this method has not been verified in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or in an interventional study. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of estimating USE in a prospective low-salt diet education cohort (ESPECIAL). Methods: A new formula was developed on the basis of morning fasting urine samples from 228 CKD patients in the ESPECIAL cohort. This formula was compared to the previous four formulas in the prediction of 24-hour USE after treatment with olmesartan and low-salt diet education. Results: Most previously reported formulas had low predictability of the measured USE based on the ESPECIAL cohort. Only the Tanaka formula showed a small but significant bias (9.8 mEq/day, P < 0.05) with a low correlation (r = 0.34). In contrast, a new formula showed improved bias (-0.1 mEq/day) and correlation (r = 0.569) at baseline. This formula demonstrated no significant bias (-1.2 mEq/day) with the same correlation (r = 0.571) after 8 weeks of treatment with olmesartan. Intensive low-salt diet education elicited a significant decrease in the measured USE. However, none of the formulas predicted this change in the measured urine sodium after diet adjustment. Conclusion: We developed a more reliable formula for estimating the USE in CKD patients. Although estimating USE is applicable in an interventional study, it may be unsuitable for estimating the change of individual sodium intake in a low-salt intervention study.
