Although the e-learning system is being introduced in elementary and secondary education, incorporating it into the regular curriculum is difficult. Other problems include the lack of sessions and connection to regular courses in realistically applying project-based learning in the regular school curriculum. Therefore. this study established, applied, and analyzed the blended learning strategy to resolve such issues. Specifically, a theoretical investigation on the concept of blended learning and IT-oriented, project-based learning was conducted. The theme for learning based on integrated courses was also selected, and the 5-stage project-based teaching and learning strategy, concretized. The concretization strategy involved discussion, role division, and alternative evaluation strategy. The class progressed in formats of on-class online, on-class offline and off-class online. As a result, students experienced inconvenience since the project only lasted for a short period of time. Nonetheless, they responded positively to the effect of project-based learning in general. This study was able to suggest the possibility of applying e learning in regular school curriculum and propose the direction for digital and learner oriented teaching.

Natural history museums used to be called an "informal learning institute". It is based on the assumption that their exhibition and exhibits are supposed to reflect school science curriculum and support school science programs. This study is to explore how this assumption is verified in terms of content-wise connections between school science and museum exhibits. In this study, 461 Earth Science related exhibits were selected from the Smithonian Museums and the American Museum of Natural History in the U.S. and analyzed with several instruments. The instrument targeting on Earth Science curriculum was framed based on the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (1993) and the National Science Curriculum Standards (1996). Other than content-wise connections, this study investigated exhibition characteristics related to better learning of science: these characteristics were types of activities, exhibition media, exhibition technology, and presentation methods. The nature of science shown in exhibits were examined as well. Natural history museums were reconsidered for their relevance and potential as informal educational venues from this study.
The purpose of this study is to analyze how optics concepts and activities have changed according to the revision of the national science curriculum. For this purpose, the optics achievement standards presented in the middle-school science curriculum of the 7th curriculum, 2007 revised curriculum, 2009 revised curriculum, and 2015 revised curriculum, and the optics content presented in the textbooks developed for each curriculum, were compared and analyzed. The optics content is classified into four concepts: the process of viewing an object; light and color; reflection and refraction; and the image from a mirror and a lens. The main results are as follows: First, according to the revision of curriculum, some optics concepts have been added or removed. In particular, big changes have appeared in the concepts of "process of viewing the object", "dispersion", "reflection and refraction" and so on. Second, the content for 'image formation by a mirror and a lens' was gradually reduced, according to the revision of curriculum, and the level of activity was also adjusted. Third, attempts to present the content of textbooks in conjunction with the phenomena and tools that students can experience in everyday life have increased gradually. In addition, based on the analysis of the content of curriculum and textbooks, the implications for optics education have been discussed.

The purpose of the study were to: (1) determine important home management concepts in the secondary home economics education curriculum,(2) identify the educational needs related to home management perceived by secondary school students, and the factors affecting it, (3) use the findings to make recommendations for developing home economics curriculum and teaching home economics in the secondary school. The questionnaires were distributed to the 1,029 secondary school students, lived in seoul, local cities, and rural area. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, T-test one ay ANOVA with scheffe test, and multiple regression analysis. Forty home management concepts were selected based on the related literatures. Stress man-agement, leisure time activities, resource use, making money for adolescents, work simplication methods were the concepts which showed the highest level of educational needs perceived by the students. The educational needs were affected by sex, school level, residence area of the respondents, and other factors related to the perception about home economics such as preference, GPA, etc.
In order to develop a new fashion business curriculum, this study attempts to evaluate fashion business curriculum in both domestic and foreign schools and to analyze their existing training programs. The results of this study shows that the analysis of domestic fashion business curriculum shows that 'in the field' knowledge is in need for the new fashion education program where students can be more exposed to the industry environments especially in the area of markets, sales, distribution and management. Also, the analysis of fashion marketing curriculum of F.I.T and PARSONS school of design demonstrates their emphasis on practical as well as academic programs in marketing, distribution and merchandising. In addition, the research on sales person training program reflects that future sales persons will need stronger knowledge in customer analysis, product display and shop management. Based on these findings, this investigation proposes a revised second year fashion business undergraduate program. The academic program in this updated module will place heavier emphasis on such fields as marketing, distribution, product planning and sales management. Also recommended is that the second year students will be exposed to real-world experience by participating in various internships and workshops offered by major companies in the fashion field.
This paper aims to identify what is needed to improve the English for Specific Purposes(ESP) curriculum for English as a Foreign Language(EFL) college learners at navigation school. Different needs from learners and experienced professionals are identified through diversified methods, and the findings from these are analysed and consolidated from a balanced point of view. For this purpose, putting learners at the centre of analysis, identifying their subjective and objective needs serves as a point of departure in formulating the curriculum. Then, the target situation is analysed according to the short-term aim of getting a job, followed by long-term needs for successfully fulfilling future duties as a pilot. Based on findings, it is suggested that ESP curriculum for learners in navigation studies should be focused on the successful language performance of their actual duties and tasks to be given in the future working situations, rather than on immediate needs for getting a job. In particular, special attention needs to be paid to enhancing learners' productive language competences through a series of hands-on trainings and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, specifically for a higher command of oral communication. For this, not only ESP, curriculum for EGP(English for General Purposes) should be systematically structured as ESP-oriented EGP, and naturally move onto areas of ESP in a coherent manner.
The 2011 Revision of the National Mathematics Curriculum, amended based on the 2009 Curriculum version, focuses on three important issues: 1) 20% reduction of the previous curriculum contents; 2) improvement of students' creativity through mathematical processes; 3) flexible management of curriculum. Despite the importance in applications, it has not provided a manual for textbook authors and teachers. Consequently, they are likely to encounter difficulties in interpreting goals of learning achievements. This paper identifies the purposes and contents of achievement standards, and discusses how to implement it at school.
This study was to analyze the research trend related to mathematics education evaluation in the analysis of the articles on , . The study explores the future direction of mathematics education assessment research by investigating whether such evaluation was suitable for the expectation about the assessment required in the current mathematics curriculum. This study was to classify the evaluation-related researches based on Korea educational curriculum revision from 1991-2010 to examine the research trend on the mathematics education evaluation in each season in Korea, analyze the articles by 'monitoring of student's progress', 'judgement on instruction', 'giving the value on mathematics achievement of students', 'value judgement of the program' that were the purpose of evaluation presented in 1995 NCTM(National Council of Teachers of Mathematics). As a result, looking at the research trend classified by the time of the educational curriculum revision, the 7th educational curriculum had the most number of the papers announced from 1997-2006. Despite 2007 educational curriculum revision was the short period from announced 2007-2008 before the next educational curriculum was placed, 11 papers(34.4%) were published. According to the category by the purpose of the assessment prescribed in NCTM, it showed that researches of 'monitoring of student's progress(46.9%)' were the most, those of 'value judgement of the program' and 'giving the value on mathematics achievement of students had a similar percentage.
The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the learning experiences of high school mathematics and science subjects of new students in science and engineering, and to provide basic data and respond to strengthen basic knowledge of science and engineering students in the future. The subjects of the survey were 481 freshmen in science and engineering at S University. First, as a result of analyzing the learning experiences of freshmen, the geometric subjects were significantly lower, which is the result of students' sensitive responses to transitional changes in the curriculum and SAT system after revision. In science, general elective subjects were higher than career elective subjects, and there was a deviation between science subjects, which is a result of reflecting the diversity and hierarchy of science subjects. Next, as a result of analyzing the difference in learning experience after revision compared to before the revision of the curriculum, the learning experience of Mathematics II increased significantly and the geometry decreased significantly. Both Chemistry I and II increased significantly compared to before the revision, and Earth Science I decreased significantly. This can be seen as a result of strategic choices based on obtaining grades in the CSAT and disadvantages in college entrance exams. As a result of the study, students' sensitive reactions to changes in the high school education environment were confirmed, basic mathematics and science-related courses were opened to alleviate variations in the academic ability due to elective courses, and countermeasures tailored to each university's situation.
This study analyzed the inquiry activities in the 'matter' units from each science textbook for the fifth and the sixth graders developed by the 2007 revised national curriculum, using Practical Activity Analysis Inventory proposed by Millar(2009) to examine types of learning objectives, hands-on contents(what students have to do with objects and materials), minds-on contents(what students have to 'do' with ideas), and logical structure each activity had. The results of this study are as follows: First, most learning objectives of the inquiry activities seems to be suitable for the standards of 2007 revised national curriculum. Second, the standards of 2007 revised national curriculum are properly reflected in hands-on contents of inquiry activities. Third, minds-on contents of inquiry activities are well developed to meet the standards of 2007 revised national curriculum as a whole. Fourth, the logical structures of inquiry activities are mostly adequate for achieving the goals of the 2007 revised national curriculum. In the textbook for the fifth graders, however, all the activities are focusing too much on using students' current ideas to generate a prediction and collecting data to explore or test it. Based on these findings, this research has concluded that learning objectives, minds-on contents and logical structures of inquiry activities need to be designed carefully for students to be exposed to various activities when developing following textbooks.
