A Study on the Method of Giving Hysteresis Characteristics to the Digital input port of Microprocessors (마이크로프로세서 디지털 입력포트에 대한 히스테리시스 특성 부여방법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the method of giving hysteresis characteristics to the digital input port of microprocessors or micro-controllers and it's design procedures. And this paper shows the example of circuit design and the effect of this method by experiments. Presented method has advantages : By the additional one port and two resistors, input port can have hysteresis characteristics and hysteresis band is larger than TTL, CMOS schmitt trigger gates.

  • Limit cycle analysis of attitude control system using gas jet thrusters is performed. Schmitt-Trigger and PD control laws are applied and solenoid valve time delay is considered. Phase plane method is used for calculation of characteristics of limit cycle. Important characteristics of resultant limit cycle such as frequency, amplitude, maximum rate, and duty ratio could be expressed analytically by proposed method.

  • A current-controlled OTA-R schemitt trigger circuit is described. It consists of two OTA's and two resistors. The output level of the circuit is determined by one OTA and one resistor, and the threshold level by the other OtA and resistor. The theory of operation is presented and computer simulation results and experimental results using CMOS arrays are used to verify theoretical predictions. The results show close agreement between predicted behaviour and experimental performance.

  • In this paper, a high-efficiency charge pump for use in CMOS image sensor(CIS) is proposed. The proposed charge pump pursues high pumping efficiency by minimizing the switching and reversion losses by taking advantage of operation characteristics of CIS. That is, the proposed charge pump minimizes the switching loss by dynamically controlling the size of clock driver, pumping capacitor, and charge transfer switch based on the operation phase of CIS pixel sensor. The charge pump also minimizes the reversion loss by guaranteeing a sufficient non-overlapping period of local clocks using a tri-state local clock driver adapting the schmitt trigger. Comparison results using a 0.13-um CMOS process technology indicate that the proposed charge pump achieves up to 49.1% reduction on power consumption under no loading current condition as compared to conventional charge pump. They also indicate that the charge pump provides 19.0% reduction on power consumption under the maximum loading current condition.

  • This paper describes a low-power MPPT interface for DC-type energy harvesting sources. The proposed circuit consists of an MPPT controller, a bias generator, and a voltage detector. The MPPT controller consists of an MPG (MPPT Pulse Generator) with a schmitt trigger, a logic gate operating according to energy type (light, heat), and a sample/hold circuit. The bias generator is designed by employing a beta multiplier structure, and the voltage detector is implemented using a bulk-driven comparator and a two-stage buffer. The proposed circuit is designed with $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The simulation results show that the designed circuit consumes less than 100nA of current at an input voltage of less than 3V and the maximum power efficiency is 99.7%. The chip area of the designed circuit is $1151{\mu}m{\times}940{\mu}m$.

  • An improved triangular/square-wave VCO using OTAs is presented. It consists of two OTAs, a timing capacitor, and a resistor. A prototype circuit built with commercially available components exhibits less than 0.01% nonlinearity in its current-to-frequency transfer characteristic from 0.2 to 14 kHz and 450 ppm/$^{\circ}C$ temperature coefficient of frequency over $-20^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}$.

  • In the following paper, the high frequency oscillation proximity sensor system, one of the sensor systems used in FA, is designed using CMOS. According to the proximity of metal objects, two differing amplitudes of sinusoidal waves are set, and by using rectifiers, dc voltages, which determine the constant current source circuit's output current levels, can be abstracted from these waves. To remove any disturbances in the dc voltage levels, a schmitt trigger is used. Some advantages of this CMOS high frequency oscillation proximity sensor are miniturization, light weight and low power disspation.

  • 본 연구에서는 가공 원공의 위치 및 내경을 인식할 수 있는 간단한 컴퓨터 시 각 시스템을 개발하였다. 아날로그 영상 자료로 부터 디지탈 자료를 얻기 위한 시스 템은 폐쇄회로 TV 카메로와 제어 회로 및 A/D변환기와 schmitt trigger를 부대한 마이 크로 컴퓨터로 이루어 졌으며 원공을 인식하는 알고리듬은 기울기(gradient) 기법을 이용한 경계법(thresholding)과 최소자승법에 의한 curve fitting으로 구성되어 있다. 개발된 시스템은 real time 방식이 아님에도 불구하고 검사 원공의 위치 및 내경을 영 상해상도의 오차 범위 내에서 실험을 통하여 보였다.

  • In this experiment, we developed a mind switching device which uses $\alpha$-wave with its amplitude varying between the eye-open and closed states. If the subject closes eyes, the switch toggles with a small delay. The circuit consists of an amplifier, a filter and a switch. An instrument amplifier is used fur high CMRR and for high input impedance. An 8th order Butterworth filter was able to reduce noise satisfactorily. The signal is then converted to a DC level, and finally a Schmitt trigger was used to generate a switching pulse.

  • A new CMOS neuron circuit for implementing bistable synapses with spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) properties has been proposed. In neuromorphic systems using STDP properties, the short-term dynamics of the synaptic efficacies are governed by the relative timing of the pre- and post-synaptic spikes, and the efficacies tend asymptotically to either a potentiated state or to a depressed one on long time scales. The proposed circuit consists of a negative shifter, a current starved inverter and a schmitt trigger designed using 0.18um CMOS technology. The simulation result shows that the proposed circuit can reduce the total size of neurons, and the spike energy of the proposed circuit is much less compared to the conventional circuits.
