  • The isomorphism classes of association schemes with 18 and 19 vertices are classified. We obtain 95 isomorphism classes of association schemes with 18 vertices and denote the representatives of the isomorphism classes as subschemes of 7 association schemes. We obtain 7 isomorphism classes of association schemes with 19 vertices and six of them are cyclotomic schemes.

  • In drone-assisted wireless sensor networks, drones collect data from sensors in an energy-efficient manner and quickly distribute urgent information to sensor nodes. This article introduces recent communication and security schemes for drone-assisted wireless sensor networks. For the communication schemes, we introduce data collection optimization schemes, drone position and movement optimization schemes, and drone flight path optimization schemes. For the security schemes, we introduce authentication and key management schemes, cluster formation schemes, and cluster head election schemes. Then, we present some enhancement methodologies for these communication and security schemes. As a conclusion, we present some interesting future work items.

  • Cumulative sum schemes based on a weighted score are considered for controlling the mean of a continuous production process; in which both the one-sided and two-sided schemes are proposed. The average run lengths and the run length distributions for the proposed schemes are obtained by the Markov chain approach. Comparisons by the average run length show that the proposed schemes perform nearly as well as the standard cumulative sum schemes in detecting changes in the process mean. Comparisons of the one-sided schemes by the run length distribution are also presented.

  • The notion of weak metric and weak cometric schemes are introduced as a generalization of metric and cometric schemes. They are given as the wreath product of a finite number of symmetric association schemes satisfying certain equivalent conditions which are analogous to the ones for metric or cometric schemes. We characterize those schemes and determine some of their parameters.

  • In this paper, we propose three symbol syn-chronization schemes for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) systems. The cyclic extension preceding OFDM symbols is of decisive importance for these schemes. The first scheme uses the phase-differential coding of the received OFDM signal. The second and the third schemes use the length of the received OFDM signal. All three schemes make symbol synchronization possible, even though there is a frequency off-set in the system. Simulation results show that these schemes can be used to synchronize an OFDM system over AWGN and multi-path fading channels.

  • Since 1990s, many literatures have shown that connectionist models, such as back propagation, recurrent network, and RBF (Radial Basis Function) outperform the traditional models, MA (Moving Average), AR (Auto Regressive), and ARIMA (Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average) in time series prediction. Neural based approaches to time series prediction require the enough length of historical measurements to generate the enough number of training patterns. The more training patterns, the better the generalization of MLP is. The researches about the schemes of generating artificial training patterns and adding to the original ones have been progressed and gave me the motivation of developing VTG schemes in 1996. Virtual term is an estimated measurement, X(t+0.5) between X(t) and X(t+1), while the given measurements in the series are called actual terms. VTG (Virtual Tern Generation) is the process of estimating of X(t+0.5), and VTG schemes are the techniques for the estimation of virtual terms. In this paper, the alternative VTG schemes to the VTG schemes proposed in 1996 will be proposed and applied to multivariate time series prediction. The VTG schemes proposed in 1996 are called deterministic VTG schemes, while the alternative ones are called stochastic VTG schemes in this paper.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural model of classification, to compare enumerative schemes with faceted schemes and finding the facted schems used in the Dewey Decimal Classification. The Structural model of classifications can be divided to enumerrative schemes and facted schemes(analytico-synthetic schemes). Enumerative schemes represent the various kind of subject in different ways and have to not only list all existing combinations of subjects but also any of potential subjects. Faceted schemes is the decomposition of concepts into all possible characteristics which are known as facets. DDC was originally created as enumerative, but over 20 editions has moved increasing towards synthetic features such as the add instructions, and the seven auxiliary tables. Many DDC class numbers found in the Schedules may be subdivied by another number(or part of it) that has been drawn from the Schedules or auxiliary tables. This process of subdividing class numbers is called number building and it can be done only when there are number building instruction in the Schedules or Tables.

  • New time schemes based on the FEM were developed and their performances were tested with 2D wave equation. The least-squares and weighted residual methods are used to construct new time schemes based on traditional residual minimization method. To overcome some drawbacks that time schemes based on the least-squares and weighted residual methods have, ad-hoc method is considered to minimize residuals multiplied by others residuals as a new approach. And variational method is used to get necessary conditions of ad-hoc minimization. A-stability was chosen to check the stability of newly developed time schemes. Specific values of new time schemes are presented along with their numerical solutions which were compared with analytic solution.

  • Many astrophysical phenomena involve processes of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and relativistic magnetohydrodynamics (RMHD). A number of numerical schemes have been developed to solve the equations of ideal MHD and RMHD. Recent codes are based on upwind schemes which solve hyperbolic systems of equations following the characteristics of the systems. Upwind schemes stand out by their robustness, clarity of the underlying physical model, and ability of achieving high resolution. We present MHD and RMHD codes based on the total variation diminishing (TVD) and weighted essentially non-oscillatory (WENO) schemes, which are second and higher order accurate extensions of upwind schemes. We demonstrate the ability and limitation of codes based on upwind schemes through a series of tests.

  • This study examines various weighting methods for improving the performance of automatic classification based on Rocchio algorithm on two collections(LISA, Reuters-21578). First, three factors for weighting are identified as document factor, document factor, category factor for each weighting schemes, the performance of each was investigated. Second, the performance of combined weighting methods between the single schemes were examined. As a result, for the single schemes based on each factor, category-factor-based schemes showed the best performance, document set-factor-based schemes the second, and document-factor-based schemes the worst. For the combined weighting schemes, the schemes(idf*cat) which combine document set factor with category factor show better performance than the combined schemes(tf*cat or ltf*cat) which combine document factor with category factor as well as the common schemes (tfidf or ltfidf) that combining document factor with document set factor. However, according to the results of comparing the single weighting schemes with combined weighting schemes in the view of the collections, while category-factor-based schemes(cat only) perform best on LISA, the combined schemes(idf*cat) which combine document set factor with category factor showed best performance on the Reuters-21578. Therefore for the practical application of the weighting methods, it needs careful consideration of the categories in a collection for automatic classification.
