There are many risks in constructing tunnel-structure. To prevent these risks from occurring and secure safety, the precise and rapid survey of inside displacement of the tunnel is required. But nowadays the measurement of the crown settlement, convergency, and surface settlement depends on general kinds of method which use total station or level. In the way to provide data about maintaining structure according to recent improvement and progress of measuring technology, 3D laser scanning is used. It solves the problem of reliability in measuring displacement of existing structure, provides material that enables to estimate shape change of structure visually, and makes it possible to deliberate speedy countermeasure. By this three dimensioning it is possible to make efficient use of structure maintenance and field measurement

The advantages of nano-scale materials (size 1-99 nm in at least in one dimension) could be realized with their potential applications in diversified avenues. Herein, we report for the first time on the successful synthesis of homogeneous epoxy coatings containing phytogenic silver nanoparticles (Ag) on PVC and glass substrates by room-temperature curing of fully mixed epoxy slurry diluted by acetone. Alstonia scholaris bark extract was used to reduce and stabilize the silver ions. The surface morphology and mechanical properties of these coatings were characterized using the techniques like, UV-Vis (UV-Visible) spectrophotometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FT-IR), Epifluorescence microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of incorporating Ag nanoparticles on the biofilm (scale) resistant epoxy-coated PVC was investigated by total viable counts ($CFU/cm^2$) from epoxy coating from (Initial) $1^{st}$ day to $25^{th}$ days. The phytogenic Ag nanoparticles were found to be significantly improving the microstructure of the coating matrix and thus enhanced the anti-biofilm performance of the epoxy coating. In addition, the antimicrobial mechanism of Ag nanoparticles played an important role in improving the anti-biofilm performance of these epoxy coatings.

As 3D geospatial information is demanded, terrestrial laser scanners which can obtain 3D model of objects have been applied in various fields such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), structural analysis, and disaster management. To acquire precise data, performance evaluation of a terrestrial laser scanner must be conducted. While existing 3D surveying equipment like a total station has a standard method for performance evaluation, a terrestrial laser scanner evaluation technique for users is not established. This paper categorizes and analyzes error sources which generally occur in terrestrial laser scanning. In addition to the prior researches about categorizing error sources of terrestrial Laser scanning, this paper evaluates the error sources by the actual field tests for the smooth in-situ applications. The error factors in terrestrial laser scanning are categorized into interior error caused by mechanical errors in a terrestrial laser scanner and exterior errors affected by scanning geometry and target property. Each error sources were evaluated by simulation and actual experiments. The 3D coordinates of observed target can be distortedby the biases in distance and rotation measurement in scanning system. In particular, the exterior factors caused significant geometric errors in observed point cloud. The noise points can be generated by steep incidence angle, mixed-pixel and crosstalk. In using terrestrial laser scanner, elaborate scanning plan and proper post processing are required to obtain valid and accurate 3D spatial information.
Oxygen consumption has been regarded as a useful indicator for assessment of mammalian embryo quality. This study was performed to investigate whether oxygen consumption reflects morphological grade of in vivo derived bovine blastocyst-stage embryos (blastocyst). The oxygen consumption of in vitro produced blastocyst was compared to its total cell number. In addition, pregnant rate was measured after transplantation of in vivo blastocysts with different oxygen consumption. The quality of blastocyst collected on day 7 after artificial insemination was categorized as grade I and II (G I and G II) based on microscopic observation of the morphology. Oxygen consumption of blastocyst was measured using a scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) and total cell number of in vitro blastocyst was enumerated by counting cells stained by propidium iodide. Pregnancy of recipient cow was confirmed with rectal palpation after 60 days of embryo transfer. The oxygen consumptions of G I blastocysts were significantly higher than those of G II blastocysts ($10.2{\times}10^{15}/mol\;s^{-1}$ versus $6.4{\times}10^{15}/mol\;s^{-1}$, p<0.05). Total cell numbers of in vitro blastocysts were 74.8, 90.7, and 110.2 in the oxygen consumption of below 10.0, 10.0~12.0, and over $12.0{\sim}10^{15}/mol\;s^{-1}$ respectively. Total cell number was significantly increased in embryos with high oxygen consumption (p<0.05). Pregnant rate in recipient cow was 0, 50, and 85.7% in the transplantation of embryo with the oxygen consumption of below 10.0, 10.0~12.0, and over $12.0{\times}10^{15}/mol\;s^{-1}$, respectively. These results suggest that measurement of oxygen consumption may help increase the pregnant rate of bovine embryos.

Flatness inspection of PC elements is normally conducted manually by inspectors at manufacturing sites. However, the manual inspection is error-prone and subjective, so it is necessary to develop a robust and efficient flatness measurement method. Recently, a few studies of laser scanner-based flatness inspection have been conducted. However, little attention on field applicability in terms of accuracy, time and cost has been paid. To tackle the limitation, this study aims to compare three sensing method including floor profiler, terrestrial laser scanner and total station for flatness inspection of PC elements. A series of experiments on two full-scale PC slabs were conducted and the results show that the laser scanning method is the most suitable for the PC elements flatness inspection in the aspects of accuracy, time and cost.

There are a number of risks in constructing tunnel-structures. Therefore, the precise and rapid observation about inside deformation of the tunnel is required to prevent these risks from occurring and to secure safety. But currently, the real situation is that the crown settlement, cavity deformation and ground surface settlement rely upon the universal mensuration which uses total station or various kinds of measuring instruments. Recently, according to improvement and progress of measuring technology, three-dimensional laser scanning is used as the method to provide data for maintaining structures. It solves the reliability problem of measuring method for the transformational volume of existing structures, provides data that enables to judge visually by three-dimensioning the shape change of structures and makes it possible to deliberate speedy countermeasure. And it can also be efficiently used in the structure maintenance and field measurement.

There have been many efforts in automatic object recognition using computing technologies. Especially in the development of automated construction equipment, automatic object recognition is very important issue for the proper equipment maneuvering. 3D laser scanning, which uses (time-of-flight) method to construct the 3-dimensional information, is applied to the civil earth work environment for its high accuracy, quick data collection, and object recognition capability that will be developed by the authors in the future. The 3D earth model is also used as a fundamental information for intelligent earth work task planning. This paper presents the analysis of the 3D laser scanner market and selection of the most optimum 3D scanner for the intelligent earth work planning. As well as the hardware configuration for the automated 3D earth modeling is developed but also the software structure and detailed user interface are designed in this research. In addition, it is presented in this paper that the accuracy comparison test between TotalStation(R) which is a traditional survey tool and ScanStation(R). The accuracy test is done by relative distance measurement using known targets.
Bacterial cellulose (BC) is generated from citrus gel by Gluconacetobacter hansenii TL-2C. BC has good properties such as high-burst pressure, high-water contact and the ultrafine highly nanofibrous structure of mimic natural extracellular matrix (ECM) for tissue engineering. In this study, acrylic acid (AAc) was grafted onto BC surfaces under aqueous conditions using gamma-ray irradiation, and then immobilized gelatin onto AAc-g-BC. The characterization of scaffolds was performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), toluidine blue O (TBO) assay. Morphology of gelatin and AAc incorporation onto BC nanofibers did not changed. Our study suggests that gelatin-immobilized BC nanofibers scaffold has a potentiality to fabricate 3D nanofibrous scaffolds for tissue engineering.
Terrestrial laser scanner provides highly accurate, 3D images and by sweeping a laser beam over a scene or object, the laser scanner is able to record millions of 3D points' coordinates in a short period, so becoming distinguished in various application fields as one of the representative surveying instruments. This study deals with 3D building boundary extraction using Terrestrial Laser Scanner. The results shows that high accuracy 3D coordinates for building boundaries are possibly acquired fast, but terrestrial laser scanner is a ground-based system, so "no roofs", and "no lower part of building" due to trees and electric-poles, etc. It is expected that the combination of total station, terrestrial laser scanner, airborne laser scanner with aerial photogrammetry will contribute to the acquisition of an effective 3D spatial information.
3D terrestrial laser scanners record high precision three-dimensional coordinates of numerous points on an object surface in a short period of time, and is applied to a wide variety of fields including geodesy, and civil engineering, archaeology and architecture, and emergency service and defence, etc. However, most of terrestrial laser scanner utilized in homeland, were imported from foreign country, and also was not authorized formally as the surveying instrument. Therefore, standard test facility to calibrate and perform its evaluation in order to utilize it in a variety of fields is required. This study deals with the test facility of foreign countries for terrestrial laser scanner and suggest the establishment scheme of domestic test facility.
