Since fuzzy controllers are nonlinear, it is more difficult to set the controller gains and to analyse the stability compared to conventional PID controllers. This paper proposes a fuzzy PD+I controller for tracking control which uses a linear fuzzy inference(product-sum-gravity) method based on a conventional linear PID controller. In this scheme the fuzzy PD+I controller works similar to the control performance as the linear PD plus I(PD+I) controller. Thus it is possible to analyse and design an fuzzy PD+I controller for given systems based on a linear fuzzy PD controller. The scaling factors tuning scheme, another topic of fuzzy controller design procedure, is also introduced in order to fine performance of the fuzzy PD+I controller. The scaling factors are adjusted by a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) in off-line. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed fuzzy PD+I controller for tracking control problems by comparing with the conventional PID controllers.

This paper proposes a new hybrid genetic algorithm for auto-tuning fuzzy controllers improving the performance. In general, fuzzy controllers use pre-determined moderate membership functions, fuzzy rules, and scaling factors, by trial and error. The presented algorithm estimates automatically the optimal values of membership functions, fuzzy rules, and scaling factors for fuzzy controllers, using a hybrid genetic algorithm. The object of the proposed algorithm is to promote search efficiency by the hybrid optimization technique. The proposed hybrid genetic algorithm is based on both the standard genetic algorithm and a modified gradient method. If a maximum point is not be changed around an optimal value at the end of performance during given generation, the hybrid genetic algorithm searches for an optimal value using the the initial value which has maximum point by converting the genetic algorithms into the MGM(Modified Gradient Method) algorithms that reduced the number of variables. Using this algorithm is not only that the computing time is faster than genetic algorithm as reducing the number of variables, but also that can overcome the disadvantage of genetic algoritms. Simulation results verify the validity of the presented method.

In this paper, we have presented the simulation results ah)ut threshold voltage for Si-based MOSFETs with channel length of nano scale. We simulated the Si-based n channel MOSFETs with gate lengths from 180 to 30 nm in accordance to the constant voltage scaling theory and the lateral scaling. These MOSFETs had the lightly doped drain(LDD) structure, which is used for the reduction of electric field magnitude and short channel effects at the drain region. The stronger electric field at this region is due to scaling down. We investigated and analyzed the threshold voltage of these devices. This analysis will provide insight into some applicable limitations at the ICs and used for basis data at VLSI.

This paper presents the construction results and design of the UNIST Reactor Innovation platform for small modular reactors as a versatile testbed for exploring innovative technologies. The platform uses simulant fluids to simulate the thermal-hydraulic behavior of a reference small modular reactor design, allowing for cost-effective design modifications. Scaling analysis results for single and two-phase natural circulation flows are outlined based on the three-level scaling methodology. The platform's capability to simulate natural circulation behavior was validated through performance calculations using the 1-D system thermal-hydraulic code-based calculation. The strategies for evaluating cutting-edge technologies, such as the integration of a solid oxide electrolysis cell for hydrogen production into a small modular reactor, are presented. To overcome experimental limitations, the hardware-in-the-loop technique is proposed as an alternative, enabling real-time simulation of physical phenomena that cannot be implemented within the experimental facility's hardware. Overall, the proposed versatile innovation platform is expected to provide valuable insights for advancing research in the field of small modular reactors and nuclear-based hydrogen production.

In this paper, when applying current-mode circuit design technique showing constant power dissipation none the less operation frequency, to the low power design of dynamic voltage frequency scaling, we introduce the low power current-mode circuit design technique applying MOSFET in sub-threshold region, in order to solve the problem that has large power dissipation especially on the condition of low operating frequency. BSIM 3, was used as a MOSFET model in circuit simulation. From the simulation result, the power dissipation of the current memory circuit with sub-threshold MOSFET showed $18.98{\mu}W$, which means the consumption reduction effect of 98%, compared with $900{\mu}W$ in that with strong inversion. It is confirmed that the proposed circuit design technique will be available in DVFS using a current-mode circuit design.

The technology for characteristic analysis of device for high integration is changing rapidly. Therefore to understand characteristics of high-integrated device by computer simulation and fabricate the device having such characteristics became one of very important subjects. At devices become smaller from submicron to nanometer, we have investigated MOSFET built on an epitaxial layer(EPI) of a heavily-doped ground plane, and also newEPI MOSFET for improved structure to weak point of LDD structure by TCAD(Technology Computer Aided Design) to develop optimum device structure. We analyzed and compared the EPI device characteristics such as impart ionization, electric field and I-V curve with those of lightly-doped drain(LDD) MOSFET. Also, we presented that TCAD simulator is suitable for device simulation and the scaling theory is suitable at nano structure device.
This paper presents a wavelet-fuzzy based controller for indirect field oriented control of three-phase induction motor drives. The discrete wavelet transform is used to decompose the error between the actual speed and the command speed of the induction motor drive into different frequency components. The transformed error coefficients along with the scaling gains are used for generating the control component of the motor. Self-tuning fuzzy logic is used for online tuning of the scaling gains of the controller. The proposed controller has the ability to meet the speed tracking requirements in the closed loop system. The complete indirect field oriented control scheme incorporating the proposed wavelet-fuzzy based controller is investigated theoretically and simulated under various dynamic operating conditions. The simulation results are compared with a conventional proportional integral controller and a fuzzy based controller. The speed control scheme incorporating the proposed controller is implemented in real time using a digital processor control board. Simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

High-level design aids are mandatory for design of a continuous-time delta-sigma modulator (CTDSM). This paper proposes a top-down methodology design to generate a noise transfer function (NTF) which is compensated for excess loop delay (ELD). This method is applicable to low pass loop-filter topologies. Non-ideal effects including ELD, integrator scaling issue, finite op-amp performance, clock jitter and DAC inaccuracies are explicitly represented in a behavioral simulation of a CTDSM. Mathematical modeling using MATLAB is supplemented with circuit-level simulation using Verilog-A blocks. Behavioral simulation and circuit-level simulation using Verilog-A blocks are used to validate our approach.
The determination of soil characteristics is important in the simulation of rainfall runoff using a distributed FLO-2D model in catchment analysis. Digital maps acquired using remote sensing techniques have been widely used in modern hydrology. However, the determination of a representative parameter with spatial scaling mismatch is difficult. In this investigation, the FLO-2D rainfall-runoff model is utilized in the Yongdam catchment to test sensitivity based on three different methods (mosaic, arithmetic, and predominant) that describe soil surface characteristics in real systems. The results show that the mosaic method is costly, but provides a reasonably realistic description and exhibits superior performance compared to other methods in terms of both the amount and time to peak flow.
Energy consumption has become an increasingly important consideration in designing real-time embedded systems. In this paper, we propose a voltage scaling method to reduce energy consumption in fixed priority real-time systems using variable voltage processors. The Hyperperiod of tasks is divided into dimains. The most suitable voltage of each domain is determined off-line and stored in a table. During task execution, the voltage of processor is adjusted according to the information of the table. A simulation result shows that the proposed method can reduce 80% of power consumption in comparison to no power management. The difference to the optimal EDF based method is only 5%.
