ON A CLASS OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL TRANS-SASAKIAN MANIFOLDS

  • The object of the present paper is to study 3-dimensional trans-Sasakian manifolds with conservative curvature tensor and also 3-dimensional conformally flat trans-Sasakian manifolds. Next we consider compact connected $\eta$-Einstein 3-dimensional trans-Sasakian manifolds. Finally, an example of a 3-dimensional trans-Sasakian manifold is given, which verifies our results.

  • The notion of nearly Sasakian manifold was introduced in [1] and Z-Olszak has studied certain properties in [2] and [3]. In section (2) of this paper, we show that a nearly Sasakian manifold M admitting .GAMMA.$_{ji}$ $^{h}$ such that .del.$_{1}$ $R_{kji}$$^{h}$ =0 is of contant scalar curvature and the covariant derivate of the Ricci tensor of M is a symmetric tensor. In the last section, we shall deal with a recurrent and conformal recurrent nearly Sasakian manifold.d.

  • In this paper, we construct a Sasakian manifold by the product of real line and Kählerian manifold with exact Kähler form. This result demonstrates the close relation between Sasakian and Kählerian manifold with exact Kähler form. We present an example and an open problem.

  • In this paper, we study the geometry of half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Sasakian manifold. There are several different types of half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Sasakian manifold according to the form of its structure vector field. We study two types of them here: tangential and ascreen half lightlike submanifolds.

  • We study half lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Sasakian manifold. The aim of this paper is to prove the following result: If a locally symmetric half lightlike submanifold of an indefinite Sasakian manifold is totally umbilical, then it is of constant positive curvature 1. In addition to this result, we prove three characterization theorems for such a half lightlike submanifold.

  • We investigate a curvature-like tensor defined by (3.1) in Sasakian manifold of $dimension{\geq}$ 5, and show that this tensor satisfies some properties. Especially, we determine compact Sasakian manifolds with vanishing this tensor and improve some theorems concerning contact conformal curvature tensor and spectrum of Laplacian acting on $p(0{\leq}P{\leq}2)-forms$ on the manifold by using this tensor component.

  • We define a quarter symmetric metric connection in a Lorentzia para-Sasakian manifold and study CR-submanifolds of a Lorentzian para-Sasakian manifold endowed with a quarter symmetric metric connection. Moreover, we also obtain integrability conditions of the distributions on CR-submanifolds.

  • The purpose of the paper is to study the notion of pseudo-slant submanifolds and the existence of some structures on a pseudo-slant submanifolds of nearly (${\varepsilon},{\delta}$)-trans-Sasakian manifold. Totally umbilical proper-slant submanifolds are worked out. We discuss the integrability of distributions on pseudo-slant submanifolds of nearly (${\varepsilon},{\delta}$)-trans-Sasakian manifold.

Generalized Quasi-Einstein Metrics and Contact Geometry

  • The aim of this paper is to characterize K-contact and Sasakian manifolds whose metrics are generalized quasi-Einstein metric. It is proven that if the metric of a K-contact manifold is generalized quasi-Einstein metric, then the manifold is of constant scalar curvature and in the case of a Sasakian manifold the metric becomes Einstein under certain restriction on the potential function. Several corollaries have been provided. Finally, we consider Sasakian 3-manifold whose metric is generalized quasi-Einstein metric.

3-Dimensional Trans-Sasakian Manifolds with Gradient Generalized Quasi-Yamabe and Quasi-Yamabe Metrics

  • This paper examines the behavior of a 3-dimensional trans-Sasakian manifold equipped with a gradient generalized quasi-Yamabe soliton. In particular, It is shown that α-Sasakian, β-Kenmotsu and cosymplectic manifolds satisfy the gradient generalized quasi-Yamabe soliton equation. Furthermore, in the particular case when the potential vector field ζ of the quasi-Yamabe soliton is of gradient type ζ = grad(ψ), we derive a Poisson's equation from the quasi-Yamabe soliton equation. Also, we study harmonic aspects of quasi-Yamabe solitons on 3-dimensional trans-Sasakian manifolds sharing a harmonic potential function ψ. Finally, we observe that 3-dimensional compact trans-Sasakian manifold admits the gradient generalized almost quasi-Yamabe soliton with Hodge-de Rham potential ψ. This research ends with few examples of quasi-Yamabe solitons on 3-dimensional trans-Sasakian manifolds.
