5세 미만 뮤코다당체침착증 환자에서의 효소 대체 요법 (Enzyme Replacement Therapy in Patients Who Have Mucopolysaccharidosis and Are younger than 5 years old)

  • Enzyme replacement of therapy (ERT) is one of the most promising therapeutic strategies for the treatment of lysosomal storage disorders. ERT is available in three types of Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS): for MPS I (Aludrazyme$^{(R)}$), MPS II (Elaprase$^{(R)}$) and MPS VI (Naglazyme$^{(R)}$) patients who are over 5 years old. But recently, early diagnosis can be done by expert clinicians and even in prenatal case. We describe the case of ERT under 5 years old MPS patients. Up to June, 2010 in Samsung Medical Center, there are 6patients who were diagnosed as MPS and started ERT under 5 years old. 3 patients were MPS I, 3 patients were MPS II. 2 patient who was diagnosed as MPS I was female and others were male. Their age at diagnosis were 4 to 37month-old (4, 13, 16, 25, 27, 37 month-old) and they are now 9 to 60 month-old (9, 39, 32, 81, 60 month-old). The youngest patient was started ERT at 4 month-old and others were started at their 13 to 49 month-old (13, 29, 27, 28, 49 month-old). First manifested symptoms of patients were macrocephaly, kyphosis and coarse face appearance. Especially, in 2 of them, one was MPS I and the other was MPS II had elder brother with same disease. And the youngest one was diagnosed by the iduronate-2-sulfatase (IDS) gene analysis from chorionic villi sampling. His mother knew that she was a heterozygous carrier of IDS gene mutation because her younger brother died from MPS II. All of them confirmed as MPS by the enzyme assay in leukocytes and fibroblast skin culture. We started ERT with ${\alpha}$-L-iduronidase(Aldurazyme$^{(R)}$) to MPS I and did recombinant human iduronate-2-sulfatase (Elaprase$^{(R)}$) to MPS II patients as recommended dose as over 5 years old. But for MPS II patient who was 4 month old, we started ERT by recombinant human IDS (Elaprase$^{(R)}$) with reduced dose 0.1 mg/kg and increased dose every 2 weeks by 0.1mg/kg up to 0.5mg/kg IV infusion. During ERT, all patients had no adverse effects and the excretion of GAGs were decreased. We have evaluated other clinical symptoms such as liver/ spleen volume, heart function and neurologic evaluation. We describe a successful ERT to MPS I and MPS II patient under 5 years old without any adverse event. It indicates that ERT in young children are well tolerated and that it has several effects which may confer clinical benefits with long-term therapy.

낙동강 하구 사주 해안에서 수거한 쓰레기 종류 및 분포량 추정 (Characteristics of Marine Debris collected from the Coastline of Sandbar in the Nakdong River Estuary)

  • 본 연구에서는 낙동강 하구역 진우도 전면해역을 대상으로 해안쓰레기의 공간적 분포를 살펴보고 해양으로부터 유입되는 쓰레기의 종류를 분석한 뒤, 낙동강 하구역 사주의 해안쓰레기 분포량을 추정하고자 하였다. 이상의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1) 낙동강 하구역 진우도 사주 전면해역을 대상으로 $50\;m{\times}50\;m(=0.0025\;km^2)$ 영역을 설정하고 영역내 모든 해안 쓰레기를 수거하여 해안쓰레기의 발생량을 평가하기 위한 모니터링 시스템을 구축하였다. 2) 초기 해안쓰레기 분포량을 살펴보기 위해 모니터링 영역내의 해안쓰레기를 수거한 결과, 총 1,110 kg의 해안쓰레기가 수거되었는데, 단위면적당($1\;km^2$) 발생하는 해안쓰레기량을 추정한 결과는 총 $444\;ton/km^2$이다. 1개월 경과후 조사시에는 총 23.75 kg의 해안쓰레기가 수거되었는데, 단위면적당($1\;km^2$) 발생하는 해안쓰레기량은 총 $9.5\;ton/km^2$ 이다. 1개월 변화기간동안의 퇴적량으로 환산하면 316.67kg/day/의 해안쓰레기가 퇴적되는 것으로 추정할 수 있다. 3) 모니터링 영역에 대해서 수거된 해안쓰레기중 가장 많은 양을 차지하는 것이 목재로서 85.86%, 폐그물 및 폐부이를 포함하는 어구가 5.13%, 플라스틱류가 4.78%, 생활쓰레기가 2.34%, 유리류가 0.94%, 음료수캔을 포함하는 철재류가 0.27%를 나타내었다.

천연기념물 한국 산양의 혈액 및 혈액 화학적 정상표준범위 (Hematologic and biochemical reference intervals for natural monument Korean goral (Naemorhedus caudatus))

  • Korean goral (Neamorhedus caudatus) is registered as a natural monument number 217 by South Korea Cultural Heritage Administration. It is also recognized as the endangered species I by Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). In this study, blood samples of Korean goral were collected to make reference intervals. Blood sampling was conducted on 19 numbers of Korean gorals (ten females, nine males), which were reared in Korean Goral Restoration Center. For total samples, the reference intervals of hematological parameters were: white blood cell $7.69{\sim}10.87K/{\mu}{\Lambda}$; hematocrit 36.73~46.18%; red blood cell $10.72{\sim}12.86K/{\mu}{\Lambda}$; hemoglobin 12.79~15.14 g/dL; mean corpuscular volume 33.15~36.75 fL; mean corpuscular hemoglobin 11.53~12.23 pg; mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration 32.64-35.91 g/dL and red blood cell distribution width 39.2~43.46%. For total samples of each parameters, the following results were obtained for serum biochemistry: glucose 111.81~153.77 mg/dL; blood urea nitrogen 22.35~28.91 mg/dL; creatine 1.22~1.84 mg/dL; phosphate 4.57~6 mg/dL; calcium 8.7~9.1 mg/dL; total protein 6.53~6.92 g/dL; albumin 3.1~3.48 g/dL; globulin 3.26~3.62 g/dL; alanine aminotransferase 56.7~158.56 U/L; aspartate aminotransferase 230.35~473.06 U/L; alkaline phosphatase 178.06~332.47 U/L; gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase 131.6-~181.24 U/L; total bilirubin 1.47~2.12 mg/dL; cholesterol 46.48~71.52 mg/dL; amylase 16.3~26.03 U/L; sodium 150.43~153.88 mmol/L; potassium 3.98~4.6 mmol/L and chlorine 109.48~113.26 mmol/L. The ranges of values were similar campared to previous studies except in the case of RDW value, which showed higher range than the RDW value of a previous study. The reference intervals from this study will be useful data for treatment and management of gorals.

인플루엔자 바이러스에 대한 신속 항원 검출 검사 검출한계의 융합적 분석 (Fusion Analytical Sensitivity of Rapid Influenza Antigen Limit of Detection Tests for Human Influenza virus)

  • 본 논문은 국내 인플루엔자 신속항원검사키트의 민감도의 검출한계를 분석하기위하여 국내 시판중인 인플루엔자 신속항원검사키트 5종을 대상으로 인플루엔자 바이러스 A형과 B형 배양액을 연속 희석하여 양성 검출 한계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 A형의 육안측정결과는 웰스바이오 제품은 1:8192까지, II제품은 1:4096까지, I과 III제품은 1:512까지, IV제품은 1:128에서만 양성이 확인되었고, B형 육안측정결과는 웰스바이오 제품이 1:8192까지, II제품은 1:4096까지, I, III, IV제품의 경우 1:1024까지 양성이 확인되었다. 같은 검체의 기기 판독의 경우 A형, B형 모두 웰스바이오 제품이 1:8192까지, II제품이 1:4096까지, I제품은 1:2048까지 양성으로 확인되었다. 인플루엔자 신속항원검사의 민감도는 환자의 검체 채취부위 및 감염기간, 검체의 양 등에 따라 많은 차이가 있으므로, 검체의 채취시기 및 방법 등을 정확하게 준수해야할 것이며, 신속항원검사 키트의 민감도를 높이기 위한 다각적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

일개 실내수영장의 공기 중 염소 및 트리할로메탄의 노출평가 및 환기 효율 평가 (Assessment for Inhalation Exposure to Trihalomethanes (THMs) and Chroline and Efficiency of Ventilation for an Indoor Swimming Pool)

  • The objectives of this study were to evaluate the air quality surrounding an indoor swimming pool, to estimate the cancer risk based on the airborne exposure to trihalomethanes (THMs), and to examine the ventilation efficiency by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Chlorine and THMs were measured poolside, and in the staff room and reception area. The indoor swimming pool was modeled using the Airpak program, with ventilation drawings and actual survey data. Temperature, flow and mean age of the air were analyzed. Levels of chlorine poolside, and in the staff room, and reception area were $203\;{\mu}g/m^3$, $5\;{\mu}g/m^3$, and $10\;{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. Chloroform was the dominant THM in all sampling sites and mean concentrations were $16.30\;{\mu}g/m^3$, $0.51\;{\mu}g/m^3$, and $0.06\;{\mu}g/m^3$ poolside, in the staff room and reception area, respectively. Bromodichloromethane and Dibromochloromethane levels were respectively estimated as $10.3\;{\mu}g/m^3$ and $1.7\;{\mu}g/m^3$ poolside, $1.3\;{\mu}g/m^3$ and $0.1\;{\mu}g/m^3$ in the staff room, and were not detected in the reception area. The cancer risks from inhalation exposure to THMs were estimated between $3.37{\times}10^{-7}$ and $1.84{\times}10^{-5}$. A short circulation phenomenon was observed from the supply air vents to the exhaust air vents located in the ceiling. A high temperature layer was formed within one meter of the ceiling, and a low temperature layer was formed under this layer due to the low velocity and high temperature of the supply air, and the improper locations of the supply air vents and exhaust air vents. The stagnation was evident at the above adult pool and the mean age of the air was 22 minutes. Disinfection by-products in the indoor swimming pool were present in higher concentrations than in the outdoor air. In order to increase the removal of pollutants, adjustment was required of the supply air volume and the supply/exhaust position.

한국인의 정상 폐활량 예측치 (Normal Predictive Values of Spirometry in Korean Population)

  • 연구배경 : 우리나라 국민을 대상으로 실시한 폐활량검사의 판정과 해석은 우리나라 국민을 대상으로 구한 폐활량 예측식이 사용되어야 한다. 그 동안 외국인을 대상으로 구한 폐활량 예측치가 사용되어 오류가 있었다. 본 연구에서는 전 국민을 대상으로 대표성 있고 신뢰할 수 있는 노력성 폐활량과 일초간 노력성 폐활량, 6초간 노력성 폐활량, 일초율에 대한 정상 예측식을 개발 하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 전 국민을 대상으로 층화표본 추출법을 사용하여 조사대상을 선정하였으며, 폐활량검사기와 검사방법, 검사과정, 결과의 선택을 미국흉부학회에서 권고하는 기준에 따라 체계적인 정도관리와 질관리를 실시하였다. 폐활량 검사를 실시한 대상자 4,816명 중에서 비흡연자이면서 폐활량에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 호흡기 질환 및 증상이 없고, 흉부방사선학적 검사에서 심폐 이상 소견이 없으면서, 폐활량에 영향을 미치는 유해인자에의 노출력이 없는 대상자는 1,212명으로 남자 206명, 여자 1,006명이었다. 이들은 지역과 연령별로 우리나라 국민을 대표할 수 있었다. 통계분석에서 혼합효과모델을 적용하여 AIC 값이 가장 작은 모델로서 남자와 여자에 공통적으로 포함된 변수들을 일반선형회귀분석에 적용하여 폐활량 예측식을 구하였다. 결 과 : 노력성 폐활량의 예측식은 남자 -4.8434 - 0.00008633*연령$^2$(년) + 0.05292*신장(cm) + 0.01095*체중(kg)이었으며, 여자 -3.0006 - 0.0001273 *연령$^2$(년) + 0.03951*신장(cm) + 0.006892*체중(kg)이었다. 일초간 노력성 폐활량의 예측식은 남자 -3.4132 -0.0002484*연령$^2$(년) + 0.04578*신장(cm)이었으며, 여자 -2.4114 - 0.0001920*연령$^2$(년) + 0.03558*신장(cm)이었다. 6초간 노력성 폐활량의 예측식은 남자 -4.4244 -0.0001367*연령$^2$(년) + 0.05156*신장(cm) + 0.008246*체중(kg)이었으며, 여자 -3.1433 - 0.0001442*연령$^2$(년) + 0.04018*신장(cm) + 0.007077*체중(kg)이었다. 일초율의 예측식은 남자 119.9004 - 0.3902*연령(년) - 0.1268*신장(cm)이었으며, 여자 97.8567 - 0.2800*연령(년) - 0.01564*신장(cm)이었다. 결 론 : 본 예측식은 미국흉부학회에서 제시하고 있는 연령과 신장 변수에 체중이 포함되어 차이가 있었다. 이러한 이유는 연령효과와 젊은 연령에서 신장과 체중이 급격하게 변화하는 체격효과가 복합적으로 작용하기 때문이라고 해석된다. 본 예측식과 다른 국내 및 국외 예측식을 비교할 때 본 예측식이 노력성 폐활량과 일초간 노력성 폐활량, 일초율의 예측치를 높게 추정하였으나 대부분 그 차이가 10% 이내로 비슷하였다. 코카시안인 백인을 대상으로 구한 외국의 예측식보다 본 연구의 정상 예측치가 낮지 않았다. 이러한 이유로는 우리나라 젊은 사람들의 체격조건의 변화와 함께 엄격한 정상인의 선정기준, 검사방법과 검사결과의 정도관리 및 질관리에 기인하는 것으로 판단되었다.

만성신부전 백서에서 항고혈압제의 종류에 따른 신부전의 진행과 사구체의 형태학적 변화 (Effects of Antihypertensive Drugs on Renal Function and Glomerular Morphology in Chronic Renal Failure Rats)

  • 목적 : 만성신부전은 신장에 병적 손상이 있어 지속적으로 신기능이 저하되어 말기신부전에 이르게 된다. 만성신부전의 진행을 지연시킬 수 있는 인자 중 혈압조절이 중요한 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 부분 신절제를 이용하여 만성신부전을 유발시킨 후 항고혈압제로 enalapril과 nicardipine을 투여하여 만성신부전의 진행에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 백서에서 5/6 신절제술로 만성신부전을 유발시킨 후 무작위로 대조군, enalapril 투여군(E군), nicardipine 투여군(N군)으로 나누어 4주 간격으로 꼬리 동맥압을 측정하고 12주째 24시간 소변 단백량과 creatinine배설량, 혈청 creatinine을 측정한 후 희생시켜 신조직을 광학현미경과 전자현미경으로 관찰하여 사구체의 형태학적 소견을 조사하였다. 결과 : 1. 신절제 후 대조군은 지속적으로 혈압이 증가하였으나 E군과 N군에서는 정상 혈압이 유지되었다. 2. 12주째 E군에서 요단백량은 대조군과 N군에 비하여 유의하게 적었다. 3. 12주째 조사한 신장의 형태계측학적 검사에서 E군과 N군 모두에서 mesangium의 증식이 대조군에 비하여 유의하게 적었으나 사구체 용적은 E군에서만 대조군에 비하여 적었다. 4. 대조군, E군, N군간의 상피세표 족돌기의 형태학적 변화의 차이는 없었다. 결론 : 부분 신절제로 유발한 만성신부전 백서에서 enalapril, nicardipine 모두 고혈압을 예방하였으나 enalpril 투여군에서 단백뇨의 감소와 신병변 발생 예방 효과가 우수하였으며, 상피세포 족돌기의 변화에는 차이가 없었다.

Performance of Drip Irrigation System in Banana Cultuivation - Data Envelopment Analysis Approach

  • India is largest producer of banana in the world producing 29.72 million tonnes from an area of 0.803 million ha with a productivity of 35.7 MT ha-1 and accounted for 15.48 and 27.01 per cent of the world's area and production respectively (www.nhb.gov.in). In India, Tamil Nadu leads other states both in terms of area and production followed by Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. In Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, Kurnool district had special reputation in the cultivation of banana in an area of 5765 hectares with an annual production of 2.01 lakh tonnes in the year 2012-13 and hence, it was purposively chosen for the study. On $23^{rd}$ November 2003, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has commenced a comprehensive project called 'Andhra Pradesh Micro Irrigation Project (APMIP)', first of its kind in the world so as to promote water use efficiency. APMIP is offering 100 per cent of subsidy in case of SC, ST and 90 per cent in case of other categories of farmers up to 5.0 acres of land. In case of acreage between 5-10 acres, 70 per cent subsidy and acreage above 10, 50 per cent of subsidy is given to the farmer beneficiaries. The sampling frame consists of Kurnool district, two mandals, four villages and 180 sample farmers comprising of 60 farmers each from Marginal (<1ha), Small (1-2ha) and Other (>2ha) categories. A well structured pre-tested schedule was employed to collect the requisite information pertaining to the performance of drip irrigation among the sample farmers and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model was employed to analyze the performance of drip irrigation in banana farms. The performance of drip irrigation was assessed based on the parameters like: Land Development Works (LDW), Fertigation costs (FC), Volume of water supplied (VWS), Annual maintenance costs of drip irrigation (AMC), Economic Status of the farmer (ES), Crop Productivity (CP) etc. The first four parameters are considered as inputs and last two as outputs for DEA modelling purposes. The findings revealed that, the number of farms operating at CRS are more in number in other farms (46.66%) followed by marginal (45%) and small farms (28.33%). Similarly, regarding the number of farmers operating at VRS, the other farms are again more in number with 61.66 per cent followed by marginal (53.33%) and small farms (35%). With reference to scale efficiency, marginal farms dominate the scenario with 57 per cent followed by others (55%) and small farms (50%). At pooled level, 26.11 per cent of the farms are being operated at CRS with an average technical efficiency score of 0.6138 i.e., 47 out of 180 farms. Nearly 40 per cent of the farmers at pooled level are being operated at VRS with an average technical efficiency score of 0.7241. As regards to scale efficiency, nearly 52 per cent of the farmers (94 out of 180 farmers) at pooled level, either performed at the optimum scale or were close to the optimum scale (farms having scale efficiency values equal to or more than 0.90). Majority of the farms (39.44%) are operating at IRS and only 29 per cent of the farmers are operating at DRS. This signifies that, more resources should be provided to these farms operating at IRS and the same should be decreased towards the farms operating at DRS. Nearly 32 per cent of the farms are operating at CRS indicating efficient utilization of resources. Log linear regression model was used to analyze the major determinants of input use efficiency in banana farms. The input variables considered under DEA model were again considered as influential factors for the CRS obtained for the three categories of farmers. Volume of water supplied ($X_1$) and fertigation cost ($X_2$) are the major determinants of banana farms across all the farmer categories and even at pooled level. In view of their positive influence on the CRS, it is essential to strengthen modern irrigation infrastructure like drip irrigation and offer more fertilizer subsidies to the farmer to enhance the crop production on cost-effective basis in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India. This study further suggests that, the present era of Information Technology will help the irrigation management in the context of generating new techniques, extension, adoption and information. It will also guide the farmers in irrigation scheduling and quantifying the irrigation water requirements in accordance with the water availability in a particular season. So, it is high time for the Government of India to pay adequate attention towards the applications of 'Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its applications in irrigation water management' for facilitating the deployment of Decision Supports Systems (DSSs) at various levels of planning and management of water resources in the country.

흐름주입분석법에 의한 음용수 중 알루미늄 이온의 분광광도법 정량 (Spectrophotometric Determination of Aluminium Ion in Drinking Water by Flow Injection Analysis)

  • 흐름 주입 누석법에 의한 알루미늄 이온의 최적 부석 조건을 확립하였다. Eriochrome Cyanine R(ECR) 염료는 pH 6.0에서 알루미늄과 반응하여 535nm에서 최대 흡광도를 갖는 착화합물을 형성한다. 이 반응을 흐름 주입 분석법으로 도입하기 위해 혼합 및 반응 코일이 길이, 아세트산 완충용액의 놀도 및 pH, 온도, 시료 주입 부피를 포함한 반응 조건을 최적화 하였다. 그 결과 혼합 및 반응코일의 길이는 각각 0.5 m와 4 m,아세트산 완충용액의 pH와 농도는 각각 0.6 및 1M,ECR의 농도는 0.56 mM, 반응온도는 40$^{\circ}C$,시료 주입량은 300 ${\mu}L$,최대흡수 파장은 535nm 이었다. 이런한 조건하에서 알루미늄 이론의 검출한계는 0.05mg/L 이하이었고, 반복성은 1%이하로 우수하였다. 시료 측정 주기는 시간당 24회 주입이 가능하였다. 또한 $F^-$, HP$O_4^{2-}$, $Fe^{2+}$, $Fe^{3+}$, $Mn^{2+}$ 이온 및 그타 음이온류의 공존시 방해 현상을 알아본 결과 1,000 mg/L까지는 방해를 일으키지 않았고 $SO_4^{2-}$ 이온은 2,000 mg/L까지도 거의 방해를 일으키지 않았다. 또한 이 방법을 이용하여 전주 및 고창 지역의 상수 및 지하수 중 알루미늄의 농도를 분석한 결과 전주 지역 상수 중에는 평균 0.478 mg/L, 고차지역 상수 중에는 0.278 mg/L로서 전주 지역이 높게 나타났고, 지하수는 전주지역이 0.386 mg/L로서 전주지역이 더 낮게 나타났다.

  • Observations were made on the blood picture of total 196 heads of healthy Korean cattles, including 98 males and 98 females in the purpose of determination of hematological values and its sex difference, and seasonal variations during one year period from December 1963 to November 1964. The blood sampling were scheduled by random in four different seasons and the sample size of both sex included in each season were designated to be same size. The ranges, averages or mean values of the erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, total white blood cell count and differential count were determined in this studies and their respective standard deviation, standard error of means, sex defferences and seasonal variations were as follows; 1. There was a highly significant sex difference and seasomal variation was not found to be significant. 2. The hemoglobin value of male showed a range of 9.0g/100cc. to 14.5g/100cc. with a mean of $11.074{\pm}0.143g/100cc$. Female showed a range of 9.0g/100cc to 13.0g/100cc. with a mean of $10.745{\pm}0.034g/100cc$. There was a highly significant sex difference and seasonal variation was not found to be significant. 3. The hematocrit value of male showed a range of 28% to 45% and with a mean of $34.867{\pm}0.468%$. Female showed a range of 28% to 42% with a mean of $32.888{\pm}0.322%$. There was a highly significant sex difference and seasonal variation was not found to be significant. 4. The mean corpuscular hemoglobin of male showed a range of 14.4rr. to 19.6rr. with a mean of $17.1{\pm}0.112rr$. Female showed a range of 14.7rr. to 19.5rr. with a mean of $17.6{\pm}0.113rr$. 5. The mean corpusular volume of male showed a range of $42.5{\mu}^3$ to $62.2{\mu}^3$ with a mean of $53.9{\pm}0.419{\mu}^3$, Female showed a range of $44.2{\mu}^3$ to $60.0{\mu}^3$ with a mean of $53.8{\pm}0.375{\mu}^3$. 6. The mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration of male showed a range of 28.1 % to 34.9% with a mean of $31.4{\pm}0.161%$. Female showed a range of 28.0% to 34.9% with a mean of $30.9{\pm}0.169%$. 7. The total leucocyte count of male showed a range of 4,000/c.mm to 13,100/c.mm. with a mean of $9,338{\pm}218.23/c.mm$. Female showed a range of 4,000/c.mm. to 14,000/c.mm. with a mean of $9,338{\pm}235.90/c.mm$. Six difference was not found to be significant and there was a highly significant seasonal variation. 8. The differential count of male, the means of neutrophil, stab, segmented cell, Iymphocyte, monocyte, eosinophil and basophil were $31.173{\pm}0.570%$, 0.3%. $30.867{\pm}0.564%$, $55.112{\pm}0.603%$, $3.745{\pm}0.082%$, $9.867{\pm}0.422%$ and 0.14% rspectively. Female showed means of $31.010{\pm}0.572%$, 0.2%, $30.806{\pm}0.569%$, $53.929{\pm}0.634%$, $4.082{\pm}0.109%$, $10.908{\pm}0.503%$ and 0.12% respectively. There were significant sex differences in monocyte and highly significant sex difference in eosinophil, and seasonal variation were found to be highly significant in neutrophil, monocyte and eosinophil. 9. Hematological comparison made between cattles infested with so called "small type piroplasma" and non-infested group. The result of investigation showed no significant difference upon the red blood cell, hemoglobin and hematocrit values between lighty infested group and non-infested group. 10. Age distribution of test group in this study ranged from 2 years to 6 years in both sex and their average age were $4.45{\pm}0.114$(male) and $4.50{\pm}0.116$(female). There found to be no significant sex difference and seasonal variations in the age of test group.
