  • Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) controls as a type of unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) is growing rapidly and its flight controller stick disposition is required standardization. We should standardize RPA drone flight control disposition because the flight pilot of RPA is hard to be trained so the flight controller stick differences impairs safety and wastes time and effort of flight controller industry. So this study researches the on-going standardization of RPA drone flight control disposition in Korea and foreign countries. Also this paper analyzes and researches of expert about RPA drone flight controller function and application of flight control mode. I accomplished expert research about standardization plan of unmanned flight control mode and confirm the necessity. Nowadays mode1 and 2 are mostly used in Korea so I carried out preference investigation for two modes. There were 4 preferences choices of RPA drone control mode necessity (importance) and recommendation of standardization modes. They answered that necessity of standardization is important considering pilot training, flight safety and positive development of drone industry. The result of standardization mode preference is that they prefer mode 2 (drone maker 86%, training facilities and research facilities 58%, government bureau 60%). Overall preference result shows that mode 1 24%, mode 1&2 16%, mode 2 60%. So they preferred mode 2 by 60%. The differences between two modes are the direction of throttle and pitch. Direction of throttle and pitch operate opposite way. They prefer mode 2 because mode 2 has similarities of manned flight control mode. Significance of this study is that it showed the necessity of standardization and flight control preference in a quantitative way. It will help drone standardization in related industries and development direction near future.

  • Ships need to ensure safety during their navigation, which makes route determination highly important. It must be accompanied by a route following controller that can accurately follow the route. This study proposes a method for automatically generating the ship route based on deep reinforcement learning algorithm and following it using a route following controller. To generate a ship route, under keel clearance was applied to secure the ship's safety and navigation chart information was used to apply ship navigation related regulations. For the experiment, a target ship with a draft of 8.23 m was designated. The target route in this study was to depart from Busan port and arrive at the pilot boarding place of the Ulsan port. As a route following controller, a velocity type fuzzy P ID controller that could compensate for the limitation of a linear controller was applied. As a result of using the deep Q network, a route with a total distance of 62.22 km and 81 waypoints was generated. To simplify the route, the Douglas-Peucker algorithm was introduced to reduce the total distance to 55.67 m and the number of way points to 3. After that, an experiment was conducted to follow the path generated by the target ship. Experiment results revealed that the velocity type fuzzy P ID controller had less overshoot and fast settling time. In addition, it had the advantage of reducing the energy loss of the ship because the change in rudder angle was smooth. This study can be used as a basic study of route automatic generation. It suggests a method of combining ship route generation with the route following control.

  • In the brake systems a proportioning valve which reduces the brake pressure at each wheel cylinder for anti-locking of rear wheels is closely related with the safety of vehicles. But, it is impossible for a present proportioning valve to exactly control brake pressure because mechanically it is an open loop control system. So, in this paper we describe a electronic brake pressure distribution system using a fuzzy controller in order to exactly control brake pressure using a close loop control system. The object of electronic brake pressure distribution system is to change an cut-in pressure and an valve slop of proportioning valve in order to obtain better good performance of brake system than with mechanical system.

  • In brake systems, a proportioning valve(P. V), which reduces the brake line pressure on each wheel cylinder for the anti-locking of rear wheels, is closely related to the safety of vehicles. However, it is impossible for current P. V. s to completely control brake line pressure because, mechanically, it is an open loop control system. In this paper we describe an electronic brake force distribution system using a direct adaptive fuzzy controller in order to completely control brake line pressure using a closed loop control system. The objective of the electronic brake force distribution system is to change the cut-in-pressure and the valve slop of the P. V in order to obtain better performance of the brake system than with mechanical systems.

  • Analyzed in the NFDS, The average number of fires in vinyl temporary buildings is more than 1,000 in annually. And the number of deaths and injuries was around 30 people in every year. According to the National Fire Agency, There are 142,386 vinyl temporary buildings for Agriculture and Fishery, of which 4,720 are residential vinyl temporary buildings in illegally. Model house is subject to regulation in fire-related law. But, even though it's the same temporary building, Vinyl temporary building is not subject to regulation. For this reason, Vinyl temporary buildings are left in the blind spot of fire safety. Therefore, In this study, We propose that amend of Act on installation and management of firefighting systems, make of temporary fire safety controller, develop and apply of alarm system that is connected to a single-alarm smoke dretector, organize and operate volunteer fire brigade of the crop group to prevent and extinguish the fire.

  • Aviation safety issues have drawn much attention from the international community due to the growing demand for air travel. Although it is a widely accepted fact that human-related factors are closely linked to aviation safety, there is lack of understanding what roles those factors play in aviation, in the field of air traffic control in particular. It has been reported that the role of air traffic controllers significantly affects air safety. This review will discuss cognitive aspects of expertise in air traffic control including time perception, working memory, reasoning, perception, attention, scanning/vigilance, decision making, and planning with examples of how each aspect can be dealt with in performing air traffic control duties. The relevant studies in psychology have also been briefly reviewed in the interest of enhancing understanding of characteristics of air traffic control tasks and the related human factors. This review concludes with a call for more in-depth research into cognitive factors in air traffic control.

  • The airline industry has been growing steadily since 2016 with more than 100 million air passengers, renewing the largest number of air passengers every year. Increasing air demand leads to an increase in air traffic in limited airspace, increasing the likelihood of accidents between aircraft. Due to the massive human and material damage caused by a single mistake, aviation safety is being heavily focused around the world to efficiently use limited airspace. Studies related to various human factors are underway as most of the aviation accidents are found to be caused by human factors, but research on human factors by controllers is insufficient while they are active in terms of control and operation. Given that 82% of air accidents caused by controllers are caused by human error, the importance of management of human error and changes in perception are urgently needed. This study aims to understand the seriousness of the controller's human error by analyzing the accident cases caused by the controller's human error using TEM to identify threats and errors and derive common human factors.

  • The program on thermal-hydraulic evaluation by testing and analysis (THETA) for the development and licensing of the new design features in the APR1400 (Advanced Power Reactor-1400) is briefly introduced with a presentation on the research motivation and typical results of the separate effect tests and analyses of the major design features. The first part deals with multi-dimensional phenomena related to the safety analysis of the APR1400. One research area is related to the multidimensional behavior of the safety injection (SI) water in a reactor pressure vessel downcomer that uses a direct vessel injection type of SI system. The other area is associated with the condensation of steam jets and the resultant thermal mixing in a water pool; these phenomena are relevant to the depressurization of a reactor coolant system (RCS). The second part describes our efforts to develop new components for safety enhancements, such as a fluidic device as a passive SI flow controller and a sparger to depressurize the RCS. This work contributes to an understanding of the new thermal-hydraulic phenomena that are relevant to advanced reactor system designs; it also improves the prediction capabilities of analysis tools for multi-dimensional flow behavior, especially in complicated geometries.

  • A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is a highly-reliable industrial digital computer which supports real-time embedded control applications for safety-critical control systems. Real-time operating systems such as uC/OS have been used for PLCs and must meet real-time constraints. As PLCs have been widely used for industrial control systems and connected to the Internet, they have been becoming a main target of cyberattacks. In this paper, we propose an execution code sanitizer to enhance the security of PLC systems. The proposed sanitizer analyzes PLC programs developed by an IDE before downloading the program to a target PLC, and mitigates security vulnerabilities of the program. Our sanitizer can detect vulnerable function calls and illegal memory accesses in development of PLC programs using a database of vulnerable functions as well as the other database of code patterns related to pointer misuses. Based on these DBs, it detects and removes abnormal use patterns of pointer variables and existence of vulnerable functions shown in the call graph of the target executable code. We have implemented the proposed technique and verified its effectiveness through experiments.
