향상된 SVD 필터를 이용한 Multi-lead ECG에서의 EMG 신호 제거 (EMG Signal Elimination Using Enhanced SVD Filter in Multi-Lead ECG)

  • SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) filter for the suppression of EMG in multi-lead stress ECG is studied. SVD filter consists of two parts. In the first part, the basis vectors were chosen from the averaged singular vectors obtained from the decomposed noise-free ECG. The singular vector is computed from the stress ECG and is compared itself with basis vectors to know whether the noise exist in stress ECG. In the second part, the existing elimination method is used, when one(or two) channels is(or are) contaminated by noise. But the proposed enhanced SVD filter is used in case of having the noise in the many channels. During signal decomposition and reconstruction, the noise-free channel or the least noisy channel have the weight of 1, the next less noisy channel has the weight of 0.8. In this way, every channel was weighted by decreased of 0.2 in proportion to the amount of the added noise. For the evaluation of the proposed enhanced SVD filter, we compared the SNR computed by the enhanced SVD filter with the standard average filter for the noise-free signal added with artificial noise and the patient data. The proposed SVD filter showed better in the SNR than the standard average filter. In conclusion, we could find that the enhanced SVD filter is more proper in processing multi-lead stress ECG.

SVD Pseudo-inverse를 이용한 영상 재구성 (SVD Pseudo-inverse and Application to Image Reconstruction from Projections)

  • Singular value decomposition을 통한 pseudo-inverse를 단층영상 재구성에 이용하였다. 본 논문에서는 SVD pseudo-inverse를 이용한 truncated inverse filter와 Scalar Wiener filter에 대하여 검토하고 각각에 대하여 통계적 측면에서의 최적화가 연구되었다. 이러한 방법은 신호와 잡음문에 trade-off를 기함으로써 재구성 문제에 항상 뒤따르는 ill-conditioning 현상을 극복할 수 있다. 본 논문을 통하여 구성된 filter의 성능을 확인하기 위하여 컴퓨터를 이용한 simulation이 이루어졌으며 그 결과 재구성된 협상은 만족할 만 하였다.

SVD를 이용한 다중 채널상에서의 음재생을 위한 역변환 필터의 구현 (An Implementation of Inverse Filter Using SVD for Multi-channel Sound Reproduction)

  • 본 연구에서는 SVD (Singular Value Decomposition)를 이용하여 다중입력과 다중출력을 가지는 시스템에서의 입력을 알아내기 위해 역변환 필터를 구현하였다. SISO (Single-Input and Single-Output)시스템의 입력과 출력의 관계에 대한 행렬공식화 작업을 확장하여 MIMO (Multi-Input and Multi-Output)시스템에 적용하였다. 그리고 시간영역과 주파수영역에서 최소위상 (Minimum phase)시스템과 비최소위상 (Non-minimum phase)시스템에 대한 그 역벽환에 대해 알아보았으며 비최소 위상요소에 대한 효과적인 역변환을 위해 SVD를 도입하였다. 먼저 전체시스템 행렬의 특이값 (singular value)을 계산하고 시스템의 위상에 대해 알아본다. 전체시스템이 비최소 위상인 경우 하나 이상의 매우 작은 특이값을 가지며 이는 시스템의 최소 위상/비최소 위상에 대한 정보를 가짐을 알 수 있다. 이를 이용하여 전체시스템에 대한 근사적인 역변환 필터를 구할 수 있으며 보다 근사적인 역변환 필터를 얻기 위하여 특이벡터를 이용하여 근사적인 역변환 필터를 얻었다. 수치적 예는 이러한 역변환 필터 행렬의 이용에 대한 잠재성을 보여준다.

  • Two-dimensional (2-D) digital filters are widely useful inn image processing and other 2-D digital signal processing fields, but designing 2-D filters is much more difficult than designing one-dimensional (1-D) ones. This paper provides a new insight into the existing singular value decomposition (SVD)-based design approach in the sense that the SVD-based design can be performed more efficiently by exploiting the symmetries of the given 2-D magnitude specifications. By using the specification symmetries. only half of the 1-D filters (sub-filters) need to be designed. which significantly simplifies the design process and reduces the computer storage required for 1-D sub-filter coefficients. Another novel point of this paper si that an objective criterion is proposed for selecting appropriate sub-filter orders in order to reduce the hardware implementation cost. A design example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the SVD-based design approach by exploiting specification symmetry and new order-selecting criterion.

GCST-SVD 기반 디지털 영상 워터마킹 방법 (Digital Image Watermarking Schemes Based on GCST and SVD)

  • 본 논문에서는 인간시각필터로 고려되는 Gabor 코사인과 사인 함수를 이용한 변환을 디지털 영상의 워터마킹 방법에 적용하였다. 변환된 주파수 영역에서 SVD의 특이값 또는 주성분을 이용한 4가지 워터마크 삽입과 추출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 삽입한 워터마크는 2차원 영상이고, 삽입한 워터마크와 추출한 워터마크 사이의 유사성을 측정하기 위하여 시각적인 판단뿐만 아니라 정규화된 상관값을 계산하였으며, 제안한 4가지 방법의 성능을 다양한 공격에 대해서 비교하였다. 가장 낮은 수평 또는 수직 교류 주파수 성분에 워터마크를 삽입하는 GCST-SVD 방법이 여러 공격에 대한 실험 결과로부터 높은 상관값과 시각적인 워터마크 특징을 잘 나타내므로 좋은 워터마킹 방법으로 사용할 수 있음을 볼 수 있다.

  • We propose a new visual tracking system for grasping which can find grasping points of an unknown polygonal object. We construct the system with the image prediction technique and Extended Kalman Filter algorithm. The Extended Kalman Filter(EKF) based on the SVD can improve the accuracy and processing time for the estimation of the nonlinear state variables. By using it, we can solve the numerical unstability problem that can occur in the visual tracking system based on Kalman filter. The image prediction algorithm can reduce the effect of noise and the image processing time. In the processing of a visual tracking, we can construct the parameterized family and can found the grasping points of unknown object through the geometric properties of the parameterized family.

  • This paper describes an implementation of inverse filter using SVD in order to recover the input in multi-channel system. The matrix formulation in SISO system is extended to MIMO system. In time and frequency domain we investigates the inversion of minimum phase system and non-minimum phase system. To execute an effective inversion of non-minimum phase system, SVD is introduced. First of all we computes singular values of system matrix and then investigates the phase property of system. In case of overall system is non-minimum phase, system matrix has one (or more) very small singular value(s). The very small singular value(s) carries information about phase properties of system. Using this property, approximate inverse filter of overall system is founded. The numerical simulation shows potentials in use of the inverse filter.

  • This paper proposes an advanced visual tracking algorithm for the stable grasping of a moving target(2D). This algorithm is programmed to find grasping points of an unknown polygonal object and execute visual tracking. The Kalman Filter(KF) algorithm based on the SVD(Singular Value Decomposition) is applied to the visual tracking system for the tracking of a moving object. The KF based on the SVD improves the accuracy of the tracking and the robustness in the estimation of state variables and noise statistics. In addition, it does not have the numerical unstability problem that can occur in the visual tracking system based on Kalman filter. In the grasping system, a parameterized family is constructcd, and through the family, the grasping system finds the stable grasping points of an unknown object through the geometric properties of the parameterized family. In the previous studies, many researchers have been studied on only 'How to track a moving target'. This paper concern not only on 'how to track' but also 'how to grasp' and apply the grasping theory to a visual tracking system.

Application of SVD on Suppression of IEEE 802.11a Interference in TH-PAM UWB Systems

  • Interference from IEEE 802.11a systems affects ultra-wideband (UWB) systems significantly. In this letter, we suggest a novel narrow-band interference (NBI) suppression technique based on the singular value decomposition (SVD) algorithm in time-hopping pulse amplitude modulation (TH-PAM) UWB systems. The SVD algorithm is used to approximate the interference which then is subtracted from the received signals. In contrast to the conventional notch filter and rake receiver, our method is more effective and the receiver complexity can be greatly reduced.

  • This paper presents a three-dimensional (3D) head pose estimation algorithm using the stereo image. Given a pair of stereo image, we automatically extract several important facial feature points using the disparity map, the gabor filter and the canny edge detector. To detect the facial feature region , we propose a region dividing method using the disparity map. On the indoor head & shoulder stereo image, a face region has a larger disparity than a background. So we separate a face region from a background by a divergence of disparity. To estimate 3D head pose, we propose a 2D-3D Error Compensated-SVD (EC-SVD) algorithm. We estimate the 3D coordinates of the facial features using the correspondence of a stereo image. We can estimate the head pose of an input image using Error Compensated-SVD (EC-SVD) method. Experimental results show that the proposed method is capable of estimating pose accurately.
