The purpose of this study was to analyze STEAM learning/teaching program that relates robots and to develop and redesign STEAM teaching/learning program with a robot for elementary and secondary schools. 'Learning with a robot' is considered as one of the best candidates for STEAM education. This article mainly concerns a robot that can be helpful to improve students' interests in learning science and mathematics in schools. As the results of the STEAM learning/teaching program analyzing, the program for elementary schools contained more contents of liberal arts and fine arts, and the program for secondary schools contained more contents of science, technology, and math. In the middle school program, context for learning, class activities of creative design and emotional touch, evaluation, and job and career information were evenly implemented. In the elementary and high school program, there were few information about robotics career. We extracted all robot utilizable subjects and units from school curriculums, and redesigned contents which can be applicable to regular classes for schools. As the result of this study, we conclude that 'learning with a robot' can encourage students' interests in STEM area.
Many researches related to STEAM education have been actively conducted for developing elementary and secondary school students' comprehensive and logical thinking ability in relation to creativity education in Korea. Each sub factor of STEAM education requires creative thinking with the ability to be merged together to solve problems as integrated or combined forms in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Also, these STEAM activities and experiences should be carried out at various places outside the classroom in school. Although various educational programs to enhance mathematical creativity have been emphasized for elementary and secondary school students, recent tendency to focus on classroom learning in the school makes it difficult to develop creative thinking ability of students. This research is mainly based on the result of the project "Development and Administration of STEAM Outreach Program in 2016" supported by KOFAC(Korea Foundation for the Achievement of Science & Creativity). The purpose of this research is to develop a STEAM outreach program including students' activity books, teachers' manuals and administration manual that can maximize STEAM-related interest of students, and to provide a chance for elementary and secondary school students to experience creative thinking based on sub factors of STEAM. The STEAM competency total score and the perception of convergence education were significantly increased for all students participating this program, but some sub factors showed different result by school levels. The STEAM outreach program developed by this study is designed to emphasize STEAM education especially 'based on' mathematics in order to provide students with the opportunity to experience more interest in the field of mathematics and will be able to provide an interesting creative STEAM outreach program that utilizes a variety of activities which, we expect, would help students to consider their career in the future.
The purposes of this study were to develop the activity based STEAM education program and to investigate the effects of the developed program on students' interest in science learning. The program was applied to 7th grade science club. This study was planned to single group pre-post test design. Test tool was the questionnaire of interest on science learning. In the results of t-test, there was statistically significant difference on the pretest and posttest of interest in science learning. Also there was significant difference on attitude toward science, recognition and strategy on science learning that were subdomains of interest on science learning. The results indicated that activity-based STEAM education program was effective in improving students' interest in science learning. In future, studies should be conducted that examine the effect of STEAM program on creativity and problem-solving activity. Therefore studies on the effectiveness of activity-based STEAM education programs should be made continuously.

This study analyzes students' motivation for learning when applying SW-STEAM education using Flipped Learning. As a main content of the study, we developed a program that combines SW education with existing subjects and utilized flipped learning as a method. Elementary school students were given an education program. The data were collected through pre and post-test of learning motivation. As a result of analysis, the SW-STEAM program based on flipped learning has improved attention, relevance and confidence. We expect that the results of the SW-STEAM education program developed in this study and the learning motivation analysis will help in the direction of the SW-STEAM education and be useful as a basic resources for settling in class.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the SW-STEAM program by utilizing ozobot coding for elementary science class. The developed SW-STEAM program was applied to $5^{th}$ grade students of S elementary school located in B city. The participants were divided into an experimental group which is consisted of 22 students and a comparative group comprised 22 students. The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of STEAM program developed and implemented by two docents and its educational impact for the use of natural history museum. Two docents developed this program with the help of science educators who ran five times of workshop during five months. The STEAM program implemented in the natural history museum demonstrated the following characteristics. The exhibitions in museum were reached by visitors only for learning science concepts (S) out of five components in STEAM. The other components, T (technology) and E (engineering), were delivered through lectures in the room, not exhibition hall. M (Mathematics)was achieved by guessing the animal's size, or calculating the walking or running speed with the clue of foot prints. The three phases of STEAM program (presentation of context, creatively design the investigation, and emotional touch) were explicitly implemented but partially successful. Two docents participating in this study responded that they formed new or extended the understandings about STEAM education, but they had the difficulties in implementing STEAM program for various type of visitors. All visitors who participated in this study displayed the favorable responses in educational impact by STEAM program in natural history museum. The heavier emphasis on E and T of STEAM program is recommended through community-based learning. In addition, educator professional program through which docents can bridge theory into practice is suggested for revitalization of STEAM education.
This study academically examined about whether STEAM education is really needed, as part of the convergence-style gifted education for training a producer in creative knowledge, through the documentary and Delphi survey. Based on the results, it developed STEAM education materials available for being applied to the domestically gifted education field, and examined the field applicability of the developed program. As a result of surveying validity and class satisfaction, the STEAM education materials of having been developed through this study were indicated to be useful in the aspects of the appropriateness for teaching-material composition, the learning satisfaction, and the promotion in the convergence-based thinking ability. The currently domestic situation is in being short of fundamental discussion about necessity or direction of STEAM education for gifted student, compared to an effort for emphasizing and activating policy of convergence-based education focusing on STEAM. Hence, the outcome of this study, which was performed on the basis of basic research on STEAM education for the gifted student, has significance in the aspect as saying of expanding applicability of STEAM education as the gifted education program.
