Factors associated with Smartphone Overdependency in Preschool Children (학령전기 아동의 스마트폰 과몰입에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors associated with smartphone overdependency in preschool children based on an analysis of mother, child, and their mutual dyadic relationships. Methods: Data were collected from 171 mothers of preschool children enrolled at daycare centers and kindergartens from January to March 2018. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance with $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ post hoc test, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS version 24. Results: The self regulation of preschool children (${\beta}=-.358$, p<.001) was the factor most closely associated with smartphone overdependency. The second most closely associated factor was children's use of a smartphone 0.5-1 hour daily (${\beta}=-.249$, p=.005). Additional associated factors were mothers' use of a smartphone for 3-4 hours daily (${\beta}=.217$, p=.002), children's use of a smartphone for less than 0.5 hour daily (${\beta}=-.212$, p=.006), and children's use of a smartphone for 1-2 days per week (${\beta}=-.205$, p=.026). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to try to develop guidelines and programs to prevent smart phone overdependency in preschool children.

Influencing Factors in Self-Efficacy among College Students (대학생의 자기효능감과 영향 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate influencing factors in self-efficacy among college students. Methods: The sample consisted of 553 college students in C & K cities. Self-report questionnaires were used to measure the variables. In data analysis, SPSS WIN 20.0 program was utilized for descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and regression analysis. Results: The mean score for Self-Efficacy was 66.62. Self-Efficacy was significantly different according to gender(t=2.076, p=.038), grade(F=11.077, p<.001), religion(F=4.666, p=.003), major(F=19.598, p<.001), economic status(F=6.570, p<.001), perceived health status(F=6.168, p<.001), and self-rated knowledge about health(F=12.936, p<.001). Multivariate analysis showed that major, self-rated knowledge about health, economic status, and perceived health status were significant predictors of self-efficacy and could explain 15.9% of total variability in this model. Conclusion: This study suggests that perceived health status and self-rated knowledge about health are significant factors in self-efficacy among college students. Therefore, the strategies of nursing intervention which improve these variables must be developed for college students.

The Effect of Mother's Attachment and Daily Stress on Children's Self-Concept and Depression in Multi-Ethnic Families (다문화가족 아동이 지각한 어머니 애착과 일상적 스트레스가 자아개념과 우울에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study to gather information on demographic statistics, children’s attachment to their mothers, and daily stress variants in order to assess their effects on child’s self-concept and depression within multi-ethnic familiy settings. A questionnaire survey was used to targeted 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders in elementary schools in Jeonnam. A total of 158 children were surveyed. SPSS for Windows 12.0 was used to carry out descriptive, and comparative statistical analysis such as Cronbach's $\alpha$, correlations analysis, and a hierarchical regression analysis. Result showed that the most significant variant affecting self-concept among children from multi-ethnic families was attachment to their mothers. Other related individual variants were in order of importance, communication skills, feelings of alienation, and mothers’ nationalities. The variant most responsible for having an affect on depression among children from multi-entnic families was the attachment to their mothers. Other related individual variants were in order of importance, feelings of alienation, stress from peer relationships, mothers’ nationalities, and stress from economic and physical environments.

Influence of Organizational Health on Customer Orientation: Moderating Effect of Leadership on Middle Managers (간호조직의 건강성이 고객지향성에 미치는 영향: 중간관리자 리더십의 조절효과)

  • This study confirmed that the organizational health of nurses have an effect on customer orientation. This survey was conducted March 1 to 31, 2014 and a total of 210 questionnaires were used in the analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, factor analysis, and regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data in the SPSS software package. The findings are summarized as follows: First, the business environment and community-oriented organizations on health factors had an influence on customer orientation(p<.05, p<.001). Among the demographic factors, graduating from college as relevant to customer orientation. Seniority and rank in the lower tier showed that customer orientation is vulnerable. Second, when leadership was added to a conventional model, it had no significant effect on the dependent variables. The influence of community-oriented business environment factors on customer orientation was statistically significant(p<.01). In the result, we should apply proper organizational health factors to hospitals by investigating leadership, because there was difference in customer orientation according to type of leadership.

The Effects of Depression, Anxiety, and Impulsiveness on Suicidal Thoughts among Adolescents (청소년의 우울, 불안과 충동성이 자살생각에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the effects of depression, anxiety, and impulsiveness on suicidal thoughts among adolescents with the goal of better understanding the psychological needs of adolescents and to provide them with more effective counseling and guidance. Participants for this study included 340 high school students in their first and second year living in large urban centers. Respondents answered a questionnaire that documented their experiences related to depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, and suicidal thoughts. Data analysis was performed using the means, standard deviations, correlation analysis, and multiple regression using the IBM SPSS 19.0 statistics program. The results were as follows. There was no statistically significant difference in anxiety and impulsiveness based on gender. However, female respondents demonstrated a higher rate of suicidal thoughts than male respondents. Second, in both sexes, comparative analysis between depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, and suicidal thoughts revealed that respondents with higher levels of depression and anxiety demonstrated elevated levels of suicidal thoughts. Impulsiveness demonstrated a correlation with suicidal thoughts only for female participants. Third, while depression and anxiety affected suicidal thoughts in both male and female respondents, impulsiveness did not affect suicidal thoughts, with depression having the strongest effect.

  • The purposes of this study are (1) to research the purchasing consumption and disposing skill of adolescents and related variables and (2) to provide some informations about the consumer education program and policy for adolescents. The survey of this study was conducted using questionnaires. The data used in this study included 649 adolescents in Phohang. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, analysis of variance(ANOVA) with Scheffe'-test. T-test, Multiple Regression Analysis, using the SPSS Win program. The results of this research were as follows:1) Purchasing skill was different significantly according to sex, grade, mother’s educational level, the degree of keeping an account book, the degree of checking after using the pocket money, interest on the contents related with consumer’s daily life and communication about consumption with their friends and parents. Consumption skill was different significantly according to grade, amount of pocket money, the degree of keeping an account book, the degree of checking after using the pocket money, interest on the contents related with consumer’s daily life and communication about consumption with their parents. Disposing skill was different significantly according to grade, from of school amount of pocket money, the degree of keeping an account book, the degree of checking after using the pocket money, interest on the contents related with consumer’s daily life and communication about consumption with their parents. 2) The most influential variable of purchasing, consumption & disposing skill was ‘communication about consumption with their parents’ and ‘the interest on the contents related with consumer’s daily life’respectively.

The Clothing Advertisement Effectiveness of Types of Model (의류광고모델의 유형에 따른 광고효과)

  • The purpose of his study was to investigate the effectiveness on clothing advertisement of three types of model, perception of model attributes by the clothing consumers, and difference in advertisement effectiveness according to perception of model attributes. Three types of advertisements for easy casual brand were selected, which are using celebrity, expert and general consumer models. The final analysis included 304 persons, who ranged from 16 to 25 in age. The statistics used analysis include ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, factor analysis and regression by the SPSS program. The result were as follow:1. The celebrity advertisement was the most effective type on all kinds of attitude changes (cognitive, emotional, and behavioral attitude changes) of consumers.2. The celebrity model received high scores on attractiveness and truthfulness; and the general consumer model received high scores on truthfulness and similarity.3. The amount of consumers attitude changes was different according to the perceptions of model attributes as well as the types of model.

The effects of problem drinking on life satisfaction focusing on mediating effects of family conflict and depression (문제음주가 생활만족도에 미치는 영향: 가족갈등과 우울의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of problem drinking on life satisfaction and to analyze the mediating effect of family conflict and depression between two variables. Methods: The data of this study were selected in the 9th Korea Welfare Panel Survey(KYPS, 2014). The SPSS Ver. 18.0 statistical package was used for descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: The major findings were as follows; First, problem drinking was found to have a negative impact on family conflict, depression, and life satisfaction. Second, family conflict and depression were identified to cause decreasing life satisfaction. Third, family conflict and depression was found to have a mediating effect between problem drinking and life satisfaction. Conclusions: In order to enhance life satisfaction through overcoming problem drinking, drinking prevention programs and recreational programs based on economic and social context are required.

On Kitchen Workers' Job Stress Caused by Kitchen Facilities (주방 설비가 조리 종사원의 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • In order for a cook to cook, there should be a space called a kitchen; moreover, to prepare good food, there should be good kitchen facilities in the kitchen. With good facilities, the cook can save time and have higher productivity. On the other hand, with poor facilities, equipment and utensils, the cook can get demotivated, have poor capability, suffer from high stress and possibly can cause some diseases. Therefore, better facilities are essential for cooking environment. The purpose of this study is to find out how significant the job stress is according to the demographic characteristics. Also, how kitchen facilities and moving line influence the job stress. In order to answer above questions, 278 copies of questionnaire were made and given to cooks at hotels with five star or similar ranks. Using SPSS Win 12.0 the statistics package, frequency, factor and reliability analysis were conducted. Then, regression analysis was carried out. As a result of the test, difference analysis on statistic characteristics was partly found. In addition, facilities and moving line affected job stress. Also, working area in the kitchen inversely influenced the job stress.

Factors Influencing Health-Promoting Behaviors in People Living with HIV (HIV 감염인의 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the health-promoting behaviors of the people living with HIV. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study design was used. The study participants included 99 people living with HIV recruited via the Korea HIV/AIDS Network of Solidarity from May 15 to August 15, 2012. Self-report questionnaires were used fo data collection measuring perceived stress, depression, self-efficacy, health-promoting behaviors (HPLP-II), and the perceived health status. The analysis was done using SPSS/Win 18.0 program. Descriptive statistics, pearson correlation, t-test, ANOVA and stepwise multiple regressions were used for data analysis. Results: Perceived stress (r=-.21, p=.040), depression (r=-.37, p<.001), self-efficacy (r=.42, p<.001), perceived health status (r=.29, p=.003), and health-promoting behaviors were significantly correlated with each other. The self-efficacy, religion and perceived health status were significant factors, which explained about 26% of the variance of the health-promoting behaviors. Multiple regression analysis showed that a powerful predictor of health-promoting behaviors among people living with HIV was self-efficacy. Conclusion: This study suggested that a focus of nursing intervention program on self-efficacy is necessary in order to increase health-promoting behaviors among people living with HIV.
