  • This paper is proposed the speed and position sensorless control of surface permanent magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM) with adaptive fuzzy and observer. A adaptive fuzzy controller is applied for speed control of SPMSM drive. A adaptive state observer is used for the mechanical state estimation of the motor. The observer was developed based on nonlinear model of SPMSM, that employs a d - q rotating reference frame attached to the rotor. A adaptive observer is implemented to compute the speed and position feedback signal. The validity of the proposed sensorless scheme is confirmed by various response characteristics.

  • On account of small size and light weight, a high-speed machine is regarded as a key technology for many future applications of drive systems. In high-speed applications, permanent magnet synchronous motors have a number of merits such as high efficiency and high power density. Therefore, they are suitable for driving the air-blower of a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) where space and energy savings are critical. Particularly, a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) of them is mainly used as a high-speed machine. However, the motor has a fatal flaw due to a retaining can to maintain the mechanical integrity of a rotor assembly. The can results in the increase of magnetic air-gap length in the SPMSM. Thus, in this paper, an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is applied in order to drive the air-blower of FCEV instead of the SPMSM, and the experimental results of two models are compared to verify the capability of the IPMSM for high-speed applications.

  • This paper is proposed a fuzzy neural network controller based on the vector controlled surface permanent magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM) drive system. The hybrid combination of neural network and fuzzy control will produce a powerful representation flexibility and numerical processing capability. Also, this paper is proposed speed control of SPMSM using neuro-fuzzy control(NFC) and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) Controller. The back propagation neural network technique is used to provide a real time adaptive estimation of the motor speed. The error between the desired state variable and the actual one is back-propagated to adjust the rotor speed, so that the actual state variable will coincide with the desired one. The back propagation mechanism is easy to derive and the estimated speed tracks precisely the actual motor speed. This paper is proposed the theoretical analysis as well as the simulation results to verify the effectiveness of the new method.

  • To decouple the secondary saliencies in sensorless permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drives, a repetitive control (RC) in the angle domain is proposed. In this paper, the inductance model of a concentrated windings surface-mounted PMSM (cwSPMSM) with strong secondary saliencies is developed. Due to the secondary saliencies, the estimated position contains harmonic disturbances that are periodic relative to the angular position. Through a transformation from the time domain to the angle domain, these varying frequency disturbances can be treated as constant periodic disturbances. The proposed angle-domain RC is plugged into an existing phase-locked loop (PLL) and utilizes the error of the PLL to generate signals to suppress these periodic disturbances. A stability analysis and parameter design guidelines of the RC are addressed in detail. Finally, the proposed method is carried out on a cwSPMSM drive test-bench. The effectiveness and accuracy are verified by experimental results.

  • This paper is proposed adaptive fuzzy-neural network controller(NFC) for speed control of surface permanent magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM) drive. The design of this algorithm based on NFC that is implemented using fuzzy control and neural network. This controller uses fuzzy rule as training patterns of a neural network. Also, this controller uses the back-propagation method to adjust the weights between the neurons of neural network in order to minimize the error between the command output and actual output. A model reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and change of error measured between the motor speed and output of a reference model. The control performance of the adaptive NFC is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. The results of analysis prove that the proposed control system has strong high performance and robustness to parameter variation, and steady-state accuracy and transient response.
