  • Social media users are an important part of our lives as they spend a lot of time and actively use them. However, it is known that there are many users who feel the psychological stress of SNS stress or fall into addiction due to SNS use. SNS stress negatively affects not only the user's mind but also the body. This study investigates the associations between SNS stress and addiction. To test the hypotheses, the study performed structural equation modeling using Amos. We collected 210 data from SNS users. The empirical results showed that SNS overuse had a significant effect on SNS stress. Second, SNS stress had a significant relationship with SNS addiction. Third, it was found that SNS overuse did not directly affect SNS addiction. This study suggests that it is necessary to recognize the importance of the relationship between SNS addiction and SNS stress.

The outcome of SNS operational strategy deducted from this study can be categorized into several items, including: (1) a selection of an appropriate SNS channel, which meets the objective of the operation; (2) a formal division of works for SNS operation; (3) a designation of full-time managers and an establishment of a task force team; (4) a specialization of contents according to specific subjects; (5) on/off-line promotions focused on events, which encourage participations; (6) an improvement of contents through regular log analyses; and (7) a promotion of library website access through SNS, and so on. This research also suggested the strategies for the development of SNS operation: strengthening of communication and cooperation among librarians; distribution of academic and research outcomes of the umbrella organization; enhancement of a role as a communication channel between librarians and users, and carry out a role as a 'social curator.'

To investigate the influencing factors on SNS addiction tendency of college students, we surveyed 330 college students at universities in the metropolitan area through offline and online questionnaires, and analyzed 271 valid ones. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, variance analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, 87.4% of college students used SNS, and the most used SNS was 'Facebook (82.3%)'. The most frequent use of SNS per day was 'over 1 hour ~ less than 2 hours (24.7%)'. • There are rapidly increasing in the number of SNS users according to quick supply of smart phones and expansion of wireless internet services, but there is no much researches on hospital promotion using SNS. In this paper, we proposed methods for development of effective hospital promotion by investigating current status of homepages, mobile web contents and SNS operated in 21 dermatology hospitals located at Seoul city and by analyzing contents according to functions as hospital promotion media. In the investigation results, all of three contents such as homepage, mobile web content and SNS are opened in 76.1% of hospitals and external companies occupied the main management body of the three contents at the largest portion(56.2%). There are hospital information, clinic, reservation in all hospitals' homepages and followed by broadcasting(90.5%), medical treatment(85.7%), consultation information(80.9%), member information in 'mypage'(42.9%), staff information(14.3%). In the analysis results, there is need to enlarge departments or staffs taking full charge of in order to manage the three contents professionally and also there is need to prepare and conduct hospital promotion methods using prevalent SNS.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of two different kinds of interactivity, such as user-to-user and user-to-media interaction, on the relationship between SNS motivation and online word of mouth (WOM). An online survey was conducted with SNS users in Korea. Using the convenience-sampling method, 300 surveys were collected and 295 were used in the actual analysis after excluding data with careless responses or missing values. Hypotheses were tested using Structure Equation Model (SEM) and path analysis by using AMOS22. The results indicate that four different SNS motivations (self-expression, relational, fun, and browsing motivation) have a partially significant positive effect on perceived user-to-user and user-to-media interaction in SNS. Although both user-to-user interactivity and user-to-media interactivity were found to have a significant effect on online word of mouth, by comparing the standardized regression coefficients in these relationships, it was found that user-to-user interactivity has a greater effect on online WOM than user-to-media interactivity. These results show that the motivated SNS users want to express their desire to communicate with other users in contrast than their desire to learn media functions when motivated SNS users reveal their personalities, knowledge, and abilities. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.

  • As SNS(Social Network Service) becomes a part of our life, new information can be derived through various information provided by SNS. Through the public timeline analysis of SNS, we can extract the latest tour trends for the public and the intimacy through the social relationship analysis in the SNS. The extracted intimacy can also be used to make the personalized recommendation by adding the weights to friends with high intimacy. We apply SNS elements such as analyzed latest trends and intimacy to item-based collaborative filtering techniques to achieve better accuracy and satisfaction than existing travel recommendation services in a new way. In this paper, we propose a social travel recommendation system using item - based collaborative filtering.
