Active and Reactive Power Control Model of Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) for the Improvement of Power System Stability

  • Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) can inject or absorb real and reactive power to or from a power system at a very fast rate on a repetitive basis. These characteristics make the application of SMES ideal for transmission grid control and stability enhancement. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the SMES model and scheme to control the active and reactive power through the power electronic device. Furthermore, an optimal priority scheme is proposed for the combination of active and reactive power control to be able to stabilize power transient swings.

  • This study clarified the definition and interpretation of terms relating to SMEs Priority System. First, 'Domestic' is defined that the address of office is in our country. Second, 'Technology utilization capacity' is defined that the de facto capacity to technology commercialization and utilization. for example. development or production or sales activity of the production using national r&d performance. Third, 'priority' in priority consideration is defined that when there are many companies trying sign technology utilization contract, technology providers shoud provide the opportunity of signing contract to SMEs primarily. 'priority consideration' is defined that technology providers shoud try to do enough to sign a contract with SMEs. This study has significance in that raising the application of the current SMEs Priority System.

A Study on Improvement Plans for Technology Protection of SMEs in Korea (중소기업 기술보호 개선방안에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this research is to identify and develop technology protection plans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by analyzing past technology leakage patterns which were experienced by SMEs. We identified factors which affect the technology leakage, and analyzed patterns of the influences using a data mining algorithms. A decision tree analysis showed several significant factors which lead to technology leakage, so we conclude that preemptive actions must be put in place for prevention. We expect that this research will contribute to determining the priority of activities necessary to prevent technology leakage accidents in Korean SMEs. We expect that this research will help SMEs to determine the priority of preemptive actions necessary to prevent technology leakage accidents within their respective companies.

  • The utilization of the achievements derived from the national R & D project is a key task of the science and technology industry policy that should lead the national economic growth by enhancing the investment efficiency of the national R&D. Although Korea has implemented various programs supporting technology transfer, commercialization, Performance is not sufficient. One of several causes may include inflexibility of a small or medium-sized company Priority System. This study is exploratory research on the directions for improving the current a small or medium-sized company Priority System. Results: First, Because the current SMEs Priority System contributes positively to enhancing SMEs R&D capability, We have to keep the system in principle. However, it is necessary to improve the direction of giving the strategic flexibility of the system so that the system is not operated formally. First, it is appropriate to make an exceptional contract with a person other than a small or medium-sized company, if a small and medium-sized company is not suitable for a technology execution contract due to the nature of technology. Second, it is desirable to consider the fulfillment of the obligations of this system when "sufficient efforts" are made to find a technical user.

Extracting Priorities of Strategic Components of Product Liability Response System using AHP (AHP기법을 활용한 제조물책임 대응시스템 구축요인의 전략적 우선순위 도출에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: To develop efficient PL response system, SMEs should decide which component of PL response system is important and implemented with priority under limited resources. To accomplish this goal, we propose strategic priority components of PL response system for SME manufacturer. Methods: We categorize the components of PL response system based on prior research results - System, Organization, Training, Technology, Cost, and Awareness. AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is applied to extract important components of PL response system, which is used in assigning the priority of component. To analyze effects of each components, performance sensitivity analysis is applied. Results: The survey analysis results show Technology is the most important components. Organization and Cost component are follows. As the importance of Technology is changed, we can find Organization, Cost is second and third important components. Conclusion: Our research shows Technology which is related to make a safe product with systematic process, is a basic enabler of PL response system. Also, building a PL team and securing a budget for PL activity should be carry out with limited resources.

  • With the radical changes and advancements of industrial economy, it is required to secure product competitiveness through technological innovations to overcome uncertain environments and generate a driving force for sustainable growth. So the Korea government introduced the superior product selection system in 1996 and has granted such incentives as priority purchasing and contracts the products of SME whose technological capabilities have passed the screening criteria. After analyzing the ambiguity of the evaluation procurement used in designation of excellent product, this study proposed seven detailed indexes for evaluation.

  • Recently, small and medium-sized manufacturing companies have shown increased interest in and participation in smart factories in order to survive in market competition. However, many SMEs build smart factories without a systematic review or preparation, which leads to them not being able to use them properly. This study considers the main reason for the low utilization rate of smart factories to be a lack of sufficient reflection of user requirements. Therefore, a method and procedure for deriving the priority of smart factory requirement functions and operating performance indicators based on QFD is proposed as a solution to this issue.

Relative Importance of Executive Competency Factors of SMEs and Venture Firms in Credit Evaluation (신용평가에서 중소벤처기업 경영자 역량 요인의 상대적 중요도에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to provide a method to increase the credit rating of the company by examining and managing the executive competency of the CEO of SMEs and Venture Firms. We analyzed the importance and priority of AHP by surveying bank loan staff and CEOs. According to the analysis results, ethics management, strategic thinking, and expertise level were the highest in the relative importance of bank loan staff. The relative importance of CEOs was higher in order of marketing, bank transaction reliability, and financing. Result of this study is similar to the relative importance of the previous research. This study suggests to disclosing credit rating system and reflect the opinions of the CEO in order to protect financial consumers. The significance of this study is to present the factors and the importance that can help to develop advanced models.

The Effect of Preferential Purchase Policy for Technologically Developed Products on Growth of SMEs (기술개발제품 우선구매 제도가 중소기업의 성장에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, in relation to "Chapter 3 Support for Priority Purchase of Technology Development Products" of the 「Market Channel Support Act」, this study investigated the positive growth impact of technology development products subject to preferential purchase on small and medium sized enterprises. The data used for empirical verification is for 371 companies that obtained certification for technology development products subject to preferential purchase in 2016 and Data from SMEs were collected from 2017 to 2021, Sales, operating profit, and net profit was identified, and empirical verification. And conducted through statistical analysis to determine whether it had a positive effect on the growth factors of SMEs. In addition, data from 225 technology development product certification companies were collected, and empirical testing was conducted through t-test analysis on the change in growth factors before and after acquiring certification. As a result of statistical analysis, it was found that the total assets, certified sales, operating profit, and net profit, which are the growth factors of a company, are all positively affected according to the type of technology development product certification. However, in the case of authentication types, some authentications showed significant negative results. In addition, significant results were derived that after acquiring certification had a positive effect on growth factors than before acquiring certification. Consistent with this conclusion, I think that it is effective for technology development-based SMEs to enter the public procurement market and utilize the technology development product priority purchase policy for market exploitation and corporate growth. And the government should strengthen the market support policy to create demand so that SMEs can enter the procurement market and actively utilize the preferential purchase system, and come up with an improvement plan so that public institutions can actively utilize the preferential purchase system.

Improvement of Project Competency for Small IT Companies through SWOT-AHP Analysis (SWOT-AHP 분석을 통한 소규모 IT업체의 프로젝트 수행 역량 개선)

  • In the SW industry, the diversification of global markets and technology trends are changing due to the emergence of new services, and IT companies are in need of strategic change different from the previous one. In this study, SWOT analysis was performed by extracting the internal environmental factors and external environmental factors through the previous studies to improve the project performance competence of small IT companies, and the SWOT Matrix was reconstructed through the pairwise comparison. Based on this, the purpose of this research was to propose the project performance competency improvement plans for small IT companies based on importance and priority, and the following four strategies were derived from the result of SWOT-AHP analysis. SO strategy was drawn in direction to invest R & D in new SW industry to enhance technology competitiveness of SMEs in order to develop SMEs, and in order to secure competitiveness of SW industry, WO strategy is drawn the cultivation of professional technical manpower through SW policy. ST Strategy presented technical management through SW system improvement policy to improve SW environment, and WT Strategy presented awareness training on the construction and necessity of project management system construction. Using the strategies presented in this study, it is expected that the managers of small IT firms will be presented as references to measure the performance competence factors of current organizations and company organizations.
