자율 지능형 로봇을 위한 그룹화 기반의 효율적 커버리지 알고리즘 (Efficient Coverage Algorithm based-on Grouping for Autonomous Intelligent Robots)

  • 최근 슬램 알고리즘의 실현을 통해 주변 환경에 대한 맵 정보가 획득 가능할 경우에 격자 그리드 기반의 Boustrophedon 경로 기반 커버리지 알고리즘이 매우 효율적인 것으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 Boustrophedon 경로 기반 알고리즘은실내 공간에 장애물이 복잡하게 존재할 경우에는 급격히 성능 저하현상이 발생한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 복잡한 실내 공간에서도 효율적으로 빠른 시간 내에 청소를 완료할 수 있는 Group-k 알고리즘을 제안하고 구현한다. Group-k 알고리즘은 전체 공간을 장애물의 복잡성에 근거하여 전체 공간을 그룹화하고 각 그룹별 우선순위를 부여하여 전체 작업 순서를 효율적으로 제어한다. 구현 기반의 실험에 의하면, 본 논문에서 제안된 알고리즘은 Boustrophedon 경로 기반 알고리즘에 비해 약 20%의 성능 향상을 보여준다.

  • SLAM(Simultaneous localization and mapping) and AI(Artificial intelligence) have been active research areas in robotics for two decades. In particular, localization is one of the most important issues in mobile robot research. Until now expensive sensors like a laser sensor have been used for the mobile robot's localization. Currently, as the RFID reader devices like antennas and RFID tags become increasingly smaller and cheaper, the proliferation of RFID technology is advancing rapidly. So, in this paper, the smart floor using passive RFID tags is proposed and, passive RFID tags are mainly used to identify the mobile robot's location on the smart floor. We discuss a number of challenges related to this approach, such as RFID tag distribution (density and structure), typing and clustering. In the smart floor using RFID tags, because the reader just can senses whether a RFID tag is in its sensing area, the localization error occurs as much as the sensing area of the RFID reader. And, until now, there is no study to estimate the pose of mobile robot using RFID tags. So, in this paper, two algorithms are suggested to. We use the Markov localization algorithm to reduce the location(X,Y) error and the Kalman Filter algorithm to estimate the pose(q) of a mobile robot. We applied these algorithms in our experiment with our personal robot CMR-P3. And we show the possibility of our probability approach using the cheap sensors like odometers and RFID tags for the mobile robot's localization on the smart floor.

Map Building and Localization Based on Wave Algorithm and Kalman Filter

  • This paper describes a mapping and localization based on wave algorithm[11] and Kalman filter for effective SLAM. Each robot in a multi robot system has its own task such as building a map for its local position. By combining their data into a shared map, the robot scans actively seek to verify their relative locations. For simultaneous localization the algorithm which is well known as Kalman Filter (KF) is used. For modelling the robot position we wish to know three parameters (x, y coordinates and its orientation) which can be combined into a vector called a state variable vector. The Kalman Filter is a smart way to integrate measurement data into an estimate by recognizing that measurements are noisy and that sometimes they should ignored or have only a small effect on the state estimate. In addition to an estimate of the state variable vector, the algorithm provides an estimate of the state variable vector uncertainty i.e. how confident the estimate is, given the value for the amount of error in it.

  • 통합 LAN은 다양한 트래픽을 수용해야 하므로 통합LAN의 성공적 개발을 위해서는 통합 LAN 구성을 분석하고 평가하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 SLAM II를 이용한 성능 분석 프로그램을 개발하고, 큐 관리 방식과 스케줄 알고리즘 등을 시뮬레이션 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, cyclic 서비스 알고리즘이 가중치에 의한 우선순위 알고리즘보다 성능에 더 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 평가되며, Back Pressure 구현은 큐 관리를 용이하게 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 논문은 INS/vSLAM 통합 항법 시스템의 성능 향상을 위한 기초 연구로써, 비전 센서의 영상처리 성능을 향상을 위한 알고리즘 개발에 목표를 두고 있다. 비전센서의 영상처리알고리즘으로 SIFT 알고리즘을 사용하였으며, SIFT 알고리즘의 특징점 정합 성능을 개선하기 위해 특징점 정합 필터를 적용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 알고리즘을 이용하여 기존의 SIFT 알고리즘을 파라미터 조절한 경우보다 향상된 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 차후 실시간 통합 항법 시스템에 적용하기 위해서 알고리즘의 속도를 향상시키는 작업이 필요하다.

  • This paper represents a map building system of Embedded Linux mobile robot. We propose a localization method which uses multiple sensors such as indoor GPS and encoder sensor for simultaneous map building system. In this paper we proposed a multiple sensor system for SLAM. For this, we developed a sensor based navigation algorithm and grid based map building algorithm under the Embedded Linux O.S. We proved this system's validity through field test

Rmap+: Autonomous Path Planning for Exploration of Mobile Robot Based on Inner Pair of Outer Frontiers

  • Exploration of mobile robot without prior data about environments is a fundamental problem during the SLAM processes. In this work, we propose improved version of previous Rmap algorithm by modifying its Exploration submodule. Despite the previous Rmap's performance which significantly reduces the overhead of the grid map, its exploration module costs a lot because of its rectangle following algorithm. To prevent that, we propose a new Rmap+ algorithm for autonomous path planning of mobile robot to explore an unknown environment. The algorithm bases on paired frontiers. To navigate and extend an exploration area of mobile robot, the Rmap+ utilizes the inner and outer frontiers. In each exploration round, the mobile robot using the sensor range determines the frontiers. Then robot periodically changes the range of sensor and generates inner pairs of frontiers. After calculating the length of each frontiers' and its corresponding pairs, the Rmap+ selects the goal point to navigate the robot. The experimental results represent efficiency and applicability on exploration time and distance, i.e., to complete the whole exploration, the path distance decreased from 15% to 69%, as well as the robot decreased the time consumption from 12% to 86% than previous algorithms.

고속 측면 충돌 감지 알고리즘의 개발 (Development of Fast Side-impact Sensing Algorithm)

  • Accident statistics shows that the portion of fatal occupant injuries due to side impacts is considerably high. The side impact usually leads to a severe intrusion of side structure into the passenger compartment. Furthermore, the safety zone for the side impact is relatively small compared to the front impact. Those kinds of physics for side impact frequently result in a fatal injury for the occupant. Therefore, NHTSA and EEVC are trying to intensify the regulation for the occupant protection against side impact. Both the regulation and recent market trends are asking for an installation of side airbag. There are several types of system configuration for side impact sensing. In this paper, we adopt the acceleration-based remote sensing method for the side airbag control system. We mainly focus on the development of hardware and crash discrimination algorithm of remote sensing unit. The crash discrimination algorithm needs fast decision of airbag firing especially for high-speed side impact such as FMVSS 214 and EEVC tests. It is also required to distinguish between low-speed fire and no-fire events. The algorithm should have a sufficient safety margin against any misuse situation such as hammer blow, door slam, etc. This paper introduces several firing criteria such as acceleration. velocity and energy criteria that use physical value proportional to crash severity. We have made a simulation program by using Matlab/Simulink to implement the proposed algorithm. We have conducted an algorithm calibration by using real crash data for 2,500cc vehicle. The crash performance obtained by the simulation was verified through a pulse injection method. It turned out that the results satisfied the system requirements well.

실내 비행용 소형 충돌회피 멀티콥터 시스템 개발 (Development of small multi-copter system for indoor collision avoidance flight)

  • 최근 멀티콥터는 비행 안정성 향상을 위해 다양한 충돌회피 센서를 탑재하고 있다. LiDAR를 이용해 3차원 위치를 인식하거나 다수 카메라와 실시간 SLAM 기술을 이용해 장애물과의 상대 위치를 계산하기도 한다. 또한 소형 프로세스와 카메라로 구성된 3D 깊이 센서를 사용하기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 충돌회피 소프트웨어 기술 개발을 위한 플랫폼으로써 상용 부품을 활용해 실내 비행이 가능한 소형 충돌회피 멀티콥터 시스템을 개발하였다. 멀티콥터 시스템은 LiDAR, RealSense, GPU 보드를 탑재하였고, 비행시험을 통해 YOLO 알고리즘 기반의 사물 인식 및 충돌회피 기능을 검증하였다. 이 논문에서는 시스템 설계/제작 및 탑재 장비 선정과정, 비행시험 결과에 관해 기술하였다.

동적 우선순위 제어방식을 사용한 ATM 스위치의 성능분석 (Performance Analysis of ATM Switch Using Dynamic Priority Control Mechanisms)

  • In this paper, we proposed two kids of dynamic priority control mechanisms controlling the cell service ratio in order to improve the QOS(Quality of Service). We also analyse theoretically the characteristics of cell loss probability and mean cell delay time by applying the proposed priority control mechanisms to ATM switch with output buffer. The proposed priority control mechanisms have the same principles of storing cells into buffer but the different principles of serving cells from buffer. The one is the control mechanism controlling the cell service ratio according to the relative cell occupancy ratio of buffer, the other is the control mechanism controlling the cell service ratio according to both the relative cell occupancy ratio of buffer and the average arrival rate. The two service classes of our concern are the delay sensitive class and the loss sensitive class. The analytical results show that the proposed control mechanisms are able to improve the QOS, the characteristics of cell loss probability and mean cell delay time, by selecting properly the relative cell occupancy ratio of buffer and the average arrival rate. conventional DLB algorithm does not support synchronous cells, but the proposed algorithm gives higher priority to synchronous cells. To reduce synchronous cell loss rate, the synchronous cell detector is used in the proposed algorithm. Synchronous cell detector detects synchronous cells, and passes them cells to the 2nd Leaky-Bucket. So it is similar to give higher priority to synchronous cells. In this paper, the proposed algorithm used audio/video traffic modeled by On/Off and Two-state MMPP, and simulated by SLAM II package. As simulation results, the proposed algorithm gets lower synchronous cell loss rate than the conventional DLB algorithms. The improved DLB algorithm for multimedia synchronization can be extended to any other cells which require higher priority.
