Recently we started a development of the digital meister expert system for the product design supporting in manufacturing industry. Knowledge representation is of major importance in digital moister expert system. This rule-based expert system-knowledges are designed for a certain type of knowledge representation such as rules or logic. The way in which a rule-based expert system represents knowledge affects the development, efficiency, speed, and maintenance. Eventually, this digital moister system is used to the engineer in manufacturing industry for the process control, production management and system management. In this paper, we propose the digital moister system knowledge representation method for product design supporting in manufacturing industry and we present introduction and contents of rule-based knowledge representation supporting tool.

This study focuses on the analysis of prospective elementary teachers' representation of trapezoid area and teacher educator's reflecting in the context of a mathematics course. In this study, I use my own teaching and classroom of prospective elementary teachers as the site for investigation. 1 examine the ways in which my own pedagogical content knowledge as a teacher educator influence and influenced by my work with students. Data for the study is provided by audiotape of class proceeding. Episode describes the ways in which the mathematics was presented with respect to the development and use of representation, and centers around trapezoid area. The episode deals with my gaining a deeper understanding of different types of representations-symbolic, visual, and language. In conclusion, I present two major finding of this study. First, Each representation influences mutually. Prospective elementary teachers reasoned visual representation from symbolic and language. And converse is true. Second, Teacher educator should be prepared proper mathematical language through teaching and learning with his students.

Since Homeros in Greece, Mimesis was thought to be an art to imitate the nature, and it means an imitation of the nature classically. Mimetic theories were set to be a kind of art work in the era of Renaissance, and the terminology of mimesis was widely used to replace it with an originality in the 15th century. The purpose of this study is to understand the aesthetics of mimesis expressed in 2000s fashion. For this purpose, I investigated the theories of the mimesis, categorized the definition, then applied those categories for 2000s fashion. Documentary studies were conducted through aesthetics, fashion books and demonstrative studies were processed by analyzing photos from collection fashion magazines and fashion site of internet. In the history of aesthetics, the mimesis could be defined into three categories; the similarity and the representation mimesis, the symbol mimesis and the abstraction mimesis. In fashion, the representation mimesis included a natural and a folk, a period that of 1900s and ancient representation mimesis. The symbol mimesis included psychology and fear symbol mimesis. The abstraction mimesis included hard color, a geometric simplification and distortion mimesis. Analysis on the mimesis expressed in 2000s modern fashion may provide an excellent method for understanding human aesthetic in costume.

The paper aims to survey some features in the 20th century's semantic analyses of the pictorial representation as a paradigm concept. Here the most typical pattern of paradigms to approach it were thought that one is Referential Semantics which begins with Wittgenstein's Picture Theory, the other, Ontological Semantics concerned with .Langer's Symbol Theory. In the light of paradigm theory, some results acquired are as follows. First, the two paradigms are recognized as those of a mutually different philosophical background. So as far as the researcher is concerned, their arguments are contradictory each other. Second, it must be emphasized that each of them all have a possible aspect of necessary and sufficient requirements. to interpret and analyze the meaning of artistic representation. In result, the Referential and Ontological Semantics can work with a complementary partnership. In short, the referential meaning constructs a infrastructure of the picture, whereas the ontological meaning does it's infrastructure.

For a unital *-subalgebra of the space $\mathcal{L}^a(X)$ of all adjointable maps on a Hilbert $\mathcal{B}$-module X with a $C^*$-algebra $\mathcal{B}$, we study unitary operator (in such algebra)-valued multiplier ${\sigma}$ on a normal, generating subsemigroup S of a group G with its extension to G. A dilation of a projective isometric ${\sigma}$-representation of S is established as a projective unitary ${\rho}$-representation of G for a suitable unitary operator (in some algebra)-valued multiplier ${\rho}$ associated with the multiplier ${\sigma}$ which is explicitly constructed.

Stress and strain in continuum mechanics have a mathematical form of the second order tensor. it is well-known that the usefulness of tensor components could be explained in a relation with coordin ates system transformation and Mohr's circle could be easily used to make a coordinate system transformation of tensors. However, Mohr's circle is applied mainly to plane problems and its use to three dimensional cases is limitedly employed. In this paper, we propose a matrix and dyadic representation of stress and strain tensors which could equivalently replace the graphical representation of second order tensors. The use of the proposed representation might provide a valuable means for the educational respects as well as research view point.

Based on a fuzzy system representation of gray scale images, we derive an edge detection algorithm whose convolution kernel is different from the known kernels such as those of Roberts', Prewitt's or Sobel's gradient. Our fuzzy system representation is an exact representation of the bicubic spline function which represents the gray scale image approximately. Hence the fuzzy system is a continuous function and it provides a natural way to define the gradient and the Laplacian operator. We show that the gradient at grid points can be evaluated by taking the convolution of the image with a 3 3 kernel. We also show that our gradient coupled with the approximate value of the continuous function generates an edge detection method which creates edge images clearer than those by other methods. A few examples of applying our methods are included.

In English textbooks, there are three kinds of English intonation representations: Trager & Smith's, Weak-strong, Audio-lingual way. Each representation has its merits and demerits. Therefore, just one of them is insufficient to represent English intonation properly. Trager & Smith's representation is relevant to show holistic intonation itself. In contrast to this merit, it is not appropriate to represent downstep, declination, etc. With Weak-strong, it is good to show weak and strong point in the sentence. It is not, however, consistent with intonation. Instead of these representations, some textbooks accept Audio-lingual method. Audio-lingual method gives students more chances to hear native speakers' intonations. But it doesn't give ways to understand English intonation itself. In English textbooks, they don't have any hierarchies dependent upon students' proficiency. In spite of various intonations, they just accept a few limited intonation models. Thus, it is necessary to review all kinds of intonation representations and to develop more advanced and relevant English intonation representation.

This article explores the photographic work of North American artist Jeff Wall. While his photographic work has been much discussed in terms of aesthetics and composition highlighting his methodological appropriation of modernist painters such as Eduard Manet and Piet Mondrian, the political aspect of his work remains to be investigated. This article especially unpacks the complicated dialectical relationship between the formal aesthetics and the political nature of his works by visiting his photographic work in the context of contemporary debates on the contradiction and conflicts between aesthetics and politics in photographic form. Ultimately, this article argues that Wall's photograph acquires its political meaning by problematizing the reified social representation of the other in a way in which the materiality and/or otherness of the photographic object is registered within the photographic frame and by representing the violence of the social representation and the un-representability of the object/other.

There have been developed many integral representations for Euler's constant some of which are recorded here. We are aiming at showing a (presumably) new integral form of Euler's constant and disproving another integral representation for this constant which were recently proposed by Jean Angelsio, Garches, France, in American Mathematical Monthly. By modifying the Angelsio's incorrectly proposed integral form of Euler's constant, we also provide an integral representation for Euler's constant.
