This work deals with different extraction media and reaction mixtures on photosystem II activity of Spinach chloroplasts. The photoreduction rate of ferricyanide and DPIP by intact chloroplasts which extracted with four kinds of extraction media; S-Tris-N pH 7.2, 8.0, S-Tricine-N pH 7.2, 8.0, was measured in five kinds of reaction mixtures; S-Tris-N pH 7.2, 8.0, S-Tricine-N pH 7.2, 8.0, 0.05 M-Tris pH 7.2. The extraction medium which shows the highest photoreduction rate was S-Tris-N at pH 7.2 and S-Tricine-N at pH 8.0. As to the reaciton mixture, S-Tricine-N pH 8.0 showed the highest rate. On the complex effects of extraction media and reaction mixtures, the highest photordeuction rate of Hill oxidant by intact chloroplasts was obtained by S-Tris-N pH 7.2 extraction medium and S-Tricine-N pH 8.0 reaction mixture. The second highest activity was obtained by S-Tricine-N pH 8.0 extraction medium and reaction mixture.
In this study power requirements to saw shoots with circular saw were determined by measuring and analyzing the required maximum torque to provide the information for the mechanization of Korean pine cone harvest. Two levels of feed rate of shoots, 10.4mm/s and 20.8mm/s, three levels of sawing speed 5.8㎧, 11.6㎧, and 17.4㎧, and 14 levels of shoot diameter from 7.7 to 18.1mm were used as variables. 1) The maximum torques were significantly affected by all three variables. The average maximum torque, 18.2 N-cm for feed rate of 20.Bmm/s was greater as much as 80% of 10.1 N-cm for feed rate of 10.4mm/s. 2) As the sawing speed was increased from 5.8㎧ to 11.6㎧ and 17.4㎧, the maximum torques were decreased to 14.8N-cm, 8.5N-cm, and 7.IN-cm, respectively when the feed rate was 10.4mm/s. The maximum torque ranged from 4.5 to 19.3N-cm as shoot diameter increased from 7.7 to 18.1mm. The minimum power requirements to saw shoots of 18.1mm with circular saw was 30W for the feed rate of 10.4mm/s. 3) The maximum torques were 28.6N-cm, 14.6N-cm, and 11.4N-cm when sawing speeds were 5.8㎧, 11.6㎧, and 17.4㎧, respectively when the feed rate was 20.8mm/s and these torques were increased as much as 93%, 36%, and 61% of those for the feed rate of 10.4mm/s. The maximum torque increased from 9.7N-cm to 30.7N-cm as shoot diameter increased from 7.7 to 18.1mm. The minimum power requirements to saw shoots of 18.1mm was 54W which was 1.8 times of 30W for the feed rate of 10.4mm/s.

Solvolyses rate constant of 1- and 2- naphthoyl chlorides (1 and 2) are reported for aqueous binary mixtures with methanol, ethanol, fluorinated alcohol, acetonitrile and dioxane. Kinetic solvent isotope effects (KISE) in methanol and product selectivities (S) of 2-naphthoyl chloride (2) in alcohol-water are also reported. Dispersions in Grunwald-Winstein correlations $(r{\leq}0.901)$ are discussed by multiple regression analysis incorporating ionizing power $(Y_{Cl})$ scale and rate-rate profiles. Major causes for these phenomena are investigated as an aromatic ring solvation effects, in conjunction with weakly nucleophilic solvation effects ($S_N2$ character), for solvolyses of 1 and for solvolyses of 2, as dual reaction channels, described as $S_N1$-$S_N2$ and $S_AN$-$S_N2$ processes. Distinct border lines between the two pathways are derived from solvolyses rates of 2 in 18 solvent using the results of $log(k/k_o)=mY_{Cl}+lN_T+hI$ plot with values of 1.13 for m, 0.37 for l and 0.15 for h value in 5 aqueous fluorinated alcohol mixtures. Using rate-product correlation, the validity of a third order model based on a general base catalyzed by solvent and contribution from these rate constants, $k_{aa},\;k_{aw}$ and $k_{aw}$, are investigated for $S_AN$-$S_N2$ solvolyses of 2 favored in more rich alcohol media and gradual addition of water to alcohol solvent shows a great shift away from stoichiometric solvation to predominantly medium effects. Rate-rate correlation between solvolyses of 2 and trimethyl acetylchloride (5) with alkyl group in the 29 aqueous solvent mixtures shows appreciable linearity (slope = 0.84, r = 0.987), caused by the same pathway ($S_N1$-$S_N2$ process), even if this correlation coincides with appreciable dispersion (different solvation effect).
The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting picture quality in Roadmap images, which were studied by varying the dilution rate, collimation field and flow rate of contrast medium. For a quantitative evaluation of the quality of the picture, a 3mm vessel model Water Phantom was self-produced using acrylic, a roadmap image was acquired with a self-produced vascular model Water Phantom, and the SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) and CNR (Contrast to Noise Ratio) were analyzed. CM:N/S In the study on the change of dilution rate, CM:N/S dilution rate changed to (100%~10%:100%), and the measurement of the roadmap image taken using the vascular model Water Phantom showed that the measurement value of SNR gradually decreased as the N/S dilution rate was increased, and the measurement of CNR was gradually reduced. It was confirmed that the higher the dilution rate of CM:N/S, the lower the SNR and CNR, and also significant image can be obtained at the dilution rate of CM:N/S (100%~70:30%). The study showed the value of SNR and CNR in Roadmap image was increased as the Collimation Field was narrowed to the center of the vascular phantom; the Collimation Field was narrowed to the center of the vessel model by 2cm intervals to 0cm through 12cm. To verify the relationship with Roadmap image and Flow Rate, volume of the autoinjector was kept constant at 15 and the flow rate was gradually increased 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. The value of SNR and CNR of images taken by using water Phantom gradually decreased as the Flow Rate increased, but at Flow Rate 9 and 10, the SNR and CNR value was increase. It was not possible to confirm the relationship with SNR and CNR by ROI mean value and Background mean value. It is considered that further study is needed to evaluate the correlation about Roadmap image and Flow Rate. In conclusion, as the dilution rate of N/S in contrast medium was increased, the value of SNR and CNR was decreased. The narrower the Collimation Field, the higher image quality by increasing value of SNR and CNR. However, it is not confirmed the relationship Roadmap image and Flow Rate. It is considered that appropriate contrast medium concentration to minimize the effects of kidney and proper Collimation Field to improve contrast of image and reduce exposure X-ray during procedure is needed.
The rate of convergence to a random variable S for an almost certainly convergent series $S_n = \sum^n_{j=1} X_j$ of independent random variables is studied in this paper. More specifically, when $S_n$ converges to S almost certainly, the tail series $T_n = \sum^{\infty}_{j=n} X_j$ is a well-defined sequence of random variable with $T_n \to 0$ a.c. Various sets of conditions are provided so that for a given numerical sequence $0 < b_n = o(1)$, the tail series strong law of large numbers $b^{-1}_n T_n \to 0$ a.c. holds. Moreover, these results are specialized to the case of the weighted i.i.d. random varialbes. Finally, example are provided and an open problem is posed.
Water parsley(Oenanthe javanica(Blume) DC) was raised with varying population density(S) in the laboratory aquarium unit to determine the growth equation. The population density was measure after 7 days. The resultant growth curve was well fit to the equation 1/S = A+B (1/S0) with a high correlation coefficient ($R^2$ = 0.999). The maximum specific absorption rate was $9.011 \times 10^{-5}$ kg $NO_x-N/kg$ water parsley$\cdot$day and $1.31 \times 10^{-5}$ kg $PO_4-P/kg$ water parsley$\cdot$day when the average population density was $2.62 kg/m^2$. The relationship between population density and nutrient absorption rate, the absorption rate of $NO_x-N$ was 5.04~5.24 mg/l$\cdot$day when the population density was $7.51~10.0 $mg/m^2\cdot day$ and the absorption rate of $PO_4-P$ was 0.56~0.78 mg/l$\cdot$day when the population density was 5.02~10.0 $kg/m^2\cdot day$. Taking into account the nutrient absorption rate and growth rate, the population density between $7.0 kg/m^2\cdot day$ and $8.0 kg/m^2 \cdot day$ was selected. The removal rate of nutrient was investigated after 7 days culture. Removal rate of $NO_x-N$ was 95.6~99.95% with initial concentration of 35 mg $NO_x-N/l$, and the removal rate of $PO_4-P$ was also high, indicating 80.24~98.9% with initial concentration of 5.95 mg $PO_x-P/l$.
We have studied the effect of $N_2$ flow rate on the structural and optical properties of GaN nanorods grown on (111) Si substrates by radio-frequency plasma-assisted molecular-beam epitaxy. The hexagonal shape nanorods with lateral diameters from 80 to 190 nm with increasing $N_2$ flow rate from 1.1 to 2.0 sccm are obtained. However, the ratio of length (thickness) and compact region increases with increasing $N_2$ flow rate up to 1.7 sccm and then saturate. From the photoluminescence, free exciton transition is clearly observed for GaN nanorods with low $N_2$ flow rate. And the PL peak energies are blue-shifted with decreasing diameter of the GaN nanorods due to size effect. Temperature-dependent photoluminescence spectra for the nanorods with $N_2$ flow rate of 1.7 sccm show an abnormal behavior like "S-shape" with increasing temperature.
Solvolysis rate constants for methylchloroformate, methylthionochloroformate, methylthiolchloroformate and methyldithiochloroformate have been determined conductometrically in methanol, ethanol and ethanol-water mixtures and activation parameters have been derived. Results show that methylchloroformate solvolyzes through $S_N2$ process while methyldithiochloroformate solvolyzes by $S_N1$ process in all the solvent systems. The rate of hydrolysis decreased in the order, $CH_3S(CS)Cl>CH_3S(CO)Cl>CH_3O(CS)Cl>CH_3O(CO)Cl$ which corresponds to the order of decreasing $S_N1$ character. In methanol, $CH_3S(CS)Cl$ solvolyzed via the $S_N1$ mechanism while the others solvolyzed via the $S_N2$ process. In ethanol, however, $S_N2$ character was dominant for all the compounds, except methyldithiochloroformate, for which $S_N1$ character was still strong enough to accelerate the rate of ethanolysis. In ethanol-water mixtures, $CH_3S(CS)Cl$ and $CH_3S(CS)Cl$ solvolyzed via $S_N2$ process in ethanol-rich region while the $S_N1$ character increased greatly in water-rich region for the solvolysis of these compounds. The order of $S_N1$ character for solvolysis in water-rich region was the same as the order of hydrolysis rate.
This study was performed to test the combustive properties of pinus rigida specimens treated with methylpiperazinomethyl-bis-phosphonic acid $M^{n+}$ ($PIPEABPM^{n+}$)s and methylpiperazinomethyl-bis-phosphonic acid (PIPEABP). Pinus rigida Plates were painted in three times with 15 wt% $PIPEABPM^{n+}s$ and PIPEABP solutions at the room temperature respectively. After drying specimen treated with chemicals, combustive properties were examined by the cone calorimeter (ISO 5660-1). It was indicated that the specimens treated with $PIPEABPM^{n+}s$ showed the lower speed to peak mass loss rate ($MLR_{peak}$), (0.104~0.121) g/s than that of PIPEABP plate. In adition, the specimens treated with $PIPEABPM^{n+}s$ showed both the lower total smoke release rate (TSRR), (224.4~484.0) $m^2/m^2$ and $CO_{mean}$ production (0.0537~0.0628) kg/kg than those of PIPEAB plate. Especially, for the specimens treated with $PIPEABPM^{n+}$ by reducing the smoke production rate except 2nd-smoke production rate (2nd-SPR), (0.0254~0.02270) g/s treated with $PIPEABPNi^{2+}$, 2nd-SPR (0.0117~0.0146) g/s was lower than that of PIPEABP plate. Thus, It is supposed that the combustion-retardation properties were improved by the partial due to the treated $PIPEABPM^{n+}s$ in the virgin plate.
