When real robot manipulators arc mathematically modeled, uncertainties are not avoidable. The uncertainties are often nonlinear and time varying, The uncertain factors come from imperfect knowledge of system parameters, payload change, friction, external disturbance and etc. We proposed a class of robust hybrid position/force control of manipulators and provided the stability analysis in the previous work. In the work, we propose a class of adaptive robust hybrid position/force control of manipulators with bound estimation and the stability based on Lyapunov function is presented. Especially, this controller does not need the information of uncertainty bound. The simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.
An uncalibrated visual servo control method for tracking a target is presented. We define the robot-positioning problem as an unconstrained optimization problem to minimize the image error between the target feature and the robot end-effector feature. We propose a method to find the residual term for more precise modeling using the secant approximation method. The composite image Jacobian is estimated by the proper method for eye-to-hand configuration without knowledge of the kinematic structure, imaging geometry and intrinsic parameter of camera. This method is independent of the motion of a target feature. The algorithm for regulation of the joint velocity for safety and stability is presented using the cost function. Adaptive regulation for visibility constraints is proposed using the adaptive parameter.

A large-scale research project to develop a robot-based automated building construction system for steel structures was successfully conducted in South Korea. This paper discusses the results of the real-scale test and the key lessons gained from the testing process. The system was assessed in terms of system productivity, construction cost, quality control, and safety improvements. While the productivity of the automated system showed an improvement of about 9.5%, the construction cost was about six times higher than that of the conventional method. The field test also indicated that the automated system requires more on-site quality control measures. However, because the system can eliminate the causes of various safety accidents, safety levels might be expected to be improved significantly. It is expected that this paper will provide knowledge and insight for developing new systems, and the results of the real-scale test might be useful for other researchers and similar research projects in the future.

In the knowledge and information age, it is necessary that a talent person have the thinking and exploring power, the problem solving ability and creativity. Bring up the students to be the talent persons determine the future of a country and a society. In this paper, we proposed the Robot based curriculum for an university education. We instructed the university students the curriculum. And we examined on the questions to the student, analyzed the results and proposed the improvement.
The dynamic equations of robotic manipulators can be derived from either Newton-Euler equation or Lagrangian equation. Model parameters which appear in the resulting dynamic equation are the nonlinear functions of both the inertial parameters and the geometric parameters of robotic manipulators. The identification of the model parameters is important for advanced robot control. In the previous methods for the identification of the model parameters, the geometric parameters are required to be predetermined, or the robotic manipulators are required to follow some special motions. In this paper, we propose an approach to the identification of the model parameters, in which prior knowledge of the geometric parameters is not necessary. We show that the estimation equation for the model parameters can be formulated in an upper block triangular form. Utilizing the special structures, we obtain a simplified least-square estimation algorithm for the model parameter identification. To illustrate the practical use of our method, a 4DOF SCARA robot is examined.

As huge amount of literature including biological data is being generated after post genome era, it becomes difficult for researcher to find useful knowledge from the biological databases. Bio-text mining and related natural language processing technique are the key issues in the intelligent knowledge retrieval from the biological databases. We propose a bio-text mining technique for the biologists who find Knowledge from the huge literature. At first, web robot is used to extract and transform related literature from remote databases. To improve retrieval speed, we generate an inverted file for keywords in the literature. Then, text mining system is used for extracting given knowledge patterns and keywords. Finally, we construct a grid computing environment to guarantee processing speed in the text mining even for huge literature databases. In the real experiment for 10,000 bio-literatures, the system shows 95% precision and 98% recall.

In this paper, an image-based "approach-align -grasp" visual servo control design is proposed for the problem of object grasping, which is based on the binocular stand-alone system. The basic idea consists of considering a vision system as a specific sensor dedicated a task and included in a control servo loop, and we perform automatic grasping follows the classical approach of splitting the task into preparation and execution stages. During the execution stage, once the image-based control modeling is established, the control task can be performed automatically. The proposed visual servoing control scheme ensures the convergence of the image-features to desired trajectories by using the Jacobian matrix, which is proved by the Lyapunov stability theory. And we also stress the importance of projective invariant object/gripper alignment. The alignment between two solids in 3-D projective space can be represented with view-invariant, more precisely; it can be easily mapped into an image set-point without any knowledge about the camera parameters. The main feature of this method is that the accuracy associated with the task to be performed is not affected by discrepancies between the Euclidean setups at preparation and at task execution stages. Then according to the projective alignment, the set point can be computed. The robot gripper will move to the desired position with the image-based control law. In this paper we adopt a constant Jacobian online. Such method describe herein integrate vision system, robotics and automatic control to achieve its goal, it overcomes disadvantages of discrepancies between the different Euclidean setups and proposes control law in binocular-stand vision case. The experimental simulation shows that such image-based approach is effective in performing the precise alignment between the robot end-effector and the object.

In order to move the body of a walking robot translationally, and step over the obstacles, the walking robot must have at least 3 degrees of freedom for each leg. Therefore each leg of the general walking robots can be composed of 3-link system with 3 revolute joints. In this paper, the colsed form of inverse kinimatic solutions is shown for this general 3R linkage. Moreover, in order to have efficient walking volume in rough terrain, the workspace of each log is obtained considering the twist angles and the offsets in D-H parameters. When we design a walking robot, the information of the walking volume is needed for planning desired trajectories of the feet effectively. Appropriate knowledge of the walking volume can also be used to maximize linear or angular velocity of minimize power of stress. However, since it is impossible to obrain the information of walking volume in 3-D space directly from the kinematic equations, the walking volume can be searched through the edge detection algorithm using the triangle tracer with closed from inverse kinematic solutions. In this study, we present the closed form inverse kinematic solutions for 3R linkage model, and the walking volume of 6 legged walking robot which is modeled after the darking bettle, Eleodes obscura sulcipennis, through the method of edge detection for an arbitrary 2 dimensional shape using triangle tracer.
Control architecture of the action based robot engineering can be divided into two types of deliberate type - and reactive type- controller. Typical deliberate type, slow in reaction speed, is well suited for the realization of the higher intelligence with its capability to forecast on the basis of environmental model according to time flow, while reactive type is suitable for the lower intelligence as it fits to the realization of speedy reactive action by inputting the sensor without a complete environmental model. Looking at the environments in the application areas in which robots are actually used, we can see that they have been mostly covered by the uncertain and unknown dynamic changes depending on time and place, the previously known knowledge being existed though. It may cause, therefore, any deterioration of the robot performance as well as further happen such cases as the robots can not carry out their desired performances, when any one of these two types is solely engaged. Accordingly this paper aims at suggesting Goal-oriented Geometric Model(GGM) Based Intelligent System Architecture which leads the actions of the robots to perform their jobs under variously changing environment and applying the suggested system structure to the navigation issues of the robots. When the robots do perform navigation in human life changing in a various manner with time, they can appropriately respond to the changing environment by doing the action with the recognition of the state. Extending this concept to cover the highest hierarchy without sticking only to the actions of the robots can lead us to apply to the algorithm to perform various small jobs required for the carrying-out of a large main job.
