As a series of 'Performance Assessment of Building Envelopes I: Double Skin Facade', three types (interior, exterior, mixed (int.&ext.)) of lightshelves and RetroLux were examined in terms of $CO_2$ emissions. It is shown that the exterior lightshelf could achieve the most energy savings (9.6-38.7%) in general office buildings due to blocking solar radiation before entering the indoor space. However, the interior lightshelf is the worst (1.4-5.2%) among three of them. The RetroLux has two components: (1) sun-reflector (first louver component), (2) light shelf for improving daylight induction (second louver component). Due to these two components, solar radiation from windows is filtered depending on seasonal variation (solar altitude). Therefore, the RetroLux can reduce 18.0-27.9% of annual energy consumption (both cooling and heating), and $552-3,290Won/m^2{\cdot}yr$ of operation cost is saved.

The purpose of this research is for confirming that fashion study has to do with industry through the developing of fashion goods which is related to a trend as a cultural code. Recently fashion design trend is focused on 'retro', 'Retro' is the one of the important trends in this century not only fashion but also cultural industry, Therefore, in this research, the processing about development of decorative vest design as fashion goods was showed by using retro image. For this process, research steps were as follows : 1. Confirming the meaning of 'retro fashion'. 2. Studying about the flow of retro fashion from 1960s to 1990s. 3, Finding the characteristics of retro fashion design and the image through abroad and domestic collections from 2000 to 2003. 4. Designing and making vest using new concept from the leading images. Through this processed, it was find that retro fashion design had three images : vintage image, ethnic image and romantic image. Then three vests were made by a concept 'a piece of handicraft' using handcraft technique such as beading, patch-work, fringing, scratching, stitching, mixing which were used in retro fashion design characteristics.

Retro, one of these fusion styles, was found in various pattern in fashion. Recent fashion trend shows coexistence with variety which cannot be represent by one or two themes, and introduces various images in a season. Therefore, this study was found three fusion image of Retro pattern which has appeared since 1990; Romantic, Ethnic, and Hippie-look. shown in VOGUE, BAZZAR and etc. 1, Romantic image overcame the exaggerated style of 18th century and expressed in a volume gown, a tight dress of high-waist, and bustier. In addition, beads or sequin became more brilliant and gorgeous which decorated the whole clothing. 2. Ethnic image was expressed with fusion of particular traits from all of the world such as Japan, China, India, South America, Greece, and Africa. 3. Hippie-look image has been shown in slim & long silhouette style, and fusion styles of romantic factors or ethnic factors were also found. Retro as one of the phenomenon of fusion was found in romantic image, ethnic image and hippie-look Image.

Herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) infection has been a public health concern worldwide. It is the leading cause of genital herpes and a contributing factor to cervical cancer and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. No vaccine is available yet for the treatment of HSV-2 infection, and routinely used synthetic nucleoside analogs have led to the emergence of drug resistance. The small molecule $Retro-2^{cycl}$ has been reported to be active against several pathogens by acting on intracellular vesicle transport, which also participates in the HSV-2 lifecycle. Here, we showed that Retro-2.1, which is an optimized, more potent derivative of $Retro-2^{cycl}$, could inhibit HSV-2 infection, with 50% inhibitory concentrations of $5.58{\mu}M$ and $6.35{\mu}M$ in cytopathic effect inhibition and plaque reduction assays, respectively. The cytotoxicity of Retro-2.1 was relatively low, with a 50% cytotoxicity concentration of $116.5{\mu}M$. We also preliminarily identified that Retro-2.1 exerted the antiviral effect against HSV-2 by a dual mechanism of action on virus entry and late stages of infection. Therefore, our study for the first time demonstrated Retro-2.1 as an effective antiviral agent against HSV-2 in vitro with targets distinct from those of nucleoside analogs.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the perception of retro fashion and new-tro fashion using big data. TEXTOM allowed the collection of big data on the words 'retro fashion' and 'new-tro fashion', which was refined afterwards. As for the data collection period, Jan. 1, 2019 to Nov. 30, 2022 was set. A top 50 list of words were extracted from this data based on appearance frequency. The extracted words were processed through Network centrality analysis and CONCOR analysis using Ucinet 6. The results are as follows. 1) In retro fashion, the appearance frequency of 'style' was the highest, followed by 'sensibility', 'color', 'trend', 'fashion', and 'brand'. These words came up with high TF-IDF values. Network centrality analysis discovered that 'color', 'style', 'trend', 'sensibility', and 'design' had high level of connectivity with other words. CONCOR analysis showed a total of four significant groups; trends, styles, looks, and photos. 2) In new-tro fashion, the appearance frequency of 'retro' was the highest, followed by 'trend', 'generation', 'style', 'brand', and 'fashion'. These words also came up with high TF-IDF values. Network centrality analysis found that 'retro', 'trend', 'generation', and 'brand' had high level of connectivity with other words. CONCOR analysis showed a total of four significant groups; style, brand, clothing, and trend. 3) New-tro fashion is included in retro fashion in that it reproduces the styles of the past. However, it is taken completely differently from generation to generation. Unlike the older generations, millennials actively accept newly created clothes and brands based on the past styles. They perceive it as a fashion that reveals their own unique tastes and tastes.

In this work, a transmitter/receiver front-end module (T/R FEM) with an automatic Tx/Rx switching scheme for a 2.4 GHz microwave power transfer is developed for a retro-reflective beamforming scheme. Recently, research on wireless power transfer techniques has moved to wireless charging systems for mobile devices. Retro-reflective beamforming is a good candidate for tracking the spatial position of a mobile device to be charged. In Tx mode, the T/R FEM generates a minimum of 1 W. It also comprises an amplitude and phase monitoring port for transmitting RF power. In Rx mode, it passes an Rx pilot signal from a mobile device to a digital baseband subsystem to recognize the position of the mobile device. The insertion loss of the Rx signal path is 4.5 dB. The Tx and Rx modes are automatically switched by detecting the Tx input power. This T/R FEM is a design example of T/R FEMs for wireless charging systems based on a retro-reflective beamforming scheme.

Today's radical change of environment and technology spreaded high-technology art by cutting across a general idea of art, expressed machine aesthetic in fashion style by influencing materials and production processes of fashion. The purpose of this research is to take another look at the value and the importance of ornaments in terms of fashion design, to overcome the negative aspect of Technology Fashion by designing Retro Technology Fashion that harmonizes reason with sensibilities through floral patterns. The results of this study are as followings. 1. If Retro technology Fashion was analyzed by time and space element that are postmodernism techniques, there are Ethnic Technology Fashion that are based on space and historical Technology Fashion that are based on time. In terms of spare element, there is the hybrid of revival of exotic folklore with Technology fashion. In terms of time element, there is the hybrid of costumes of before 20th Century with Technology Fashion. It means unifying detail or silhouette of costumes of ancient time to modern time wit Technology Fashion. For another time element, the hybrid of retro fashion after 20th Century with Technology Fashion. The retro nostalgia is revived by the floral patterns or silhouette of Hippie fashion unified with Technology Fashion. 2. Based on above research, Retro Technology Fashion with floral pattern on CAD were designed. As the results, for Ethno Fashion that is spatial retro, 'Asian Technology fashion' was designed with bright colors, China collar that are oriental, and vinyl material. For historical Technology fashion that are based on time, 'Space Middle Age' was designed with tight silhouette, party colored pants and plastic material.

Fashion photographs from leading monthly fashion magazines in 1990s were analyzed. The types and the formative feature characteristics and the aesthetic values of domestic retrospective fashion were studied. The major conclusions of the study are as follows 1. The types of domestic retro fashion were historicism, ethnic, ecology. Retro fashion was expressed through applying and reappearing silhouette, detail. fabric and image of the costumes of the past. 2. Renaissance. Baroque, Rococo styles and the costumes and styles of 1960s and 1970s were mainly applied in domestic fashion. 3. Orientalism was emphasized and Korean traditional styles and Chinese costumes were expressed mainly in domestic fashion. Fashion trends recurrent and intimate to the nature were expressed in patterns, fabrics, dyeing and silhouettes of nature. 4. The formative feature characteristics of domestic retro fashion were recurrence, purity. tradition and decoration. As retro fashion applies costumes of the past newly, it supplies unlimited possibilities to the present fashion which seeks versatility.

This study was aimed at analyzing how the dualism of hippie style in the modern retro-fashion, namely, the neo hippie style and the hippie chic style were expressed. For this study, domestic & foreign fashion magazines, preceding theses, literatures, an encyclopedia, and Internet sites were reviewed. The results of this study could be summarized as follows; 1. Silhouette : The neo hippie style was expressed in slim and long silhouette to show the natural beauty. The hippie chic style was expressed in various silhouettes depending on designer's tastes. 2. Color : The neo hippie style was expressed in strong color and analogous color coordination to show richness of human nature. The hippie chic style was expressed in psychedelic color, multi-color, and fluorescent color to show an unconventional and a future oriented idea. 3. Material . The neo hippie style used such soft, thin, and flexible materials as chiffon, satin, silk, knit, etc. to show the natural beauty The hippie chic style used expensive and luxurious materials, high-technological materials, harmony of different materials, etc. 4. Pattern . In the neo hippie style, it was generally used various patterns including plant, animal, insect. In the hippie chic style, it was widely used the natural pattern as well as the ethnic pattern. The neo hippie style was characterized by the natural beauty, purity, elegance as style symbolizing the social problem, on the other hand, the hippie chic style was characterized by designer's identity suggesting an idea of new style rather than a symbol of the social problem.

In this paper, the optical properties of a miniature telecentric camera are studied analytically and experimentally. By means of optical properties, the luminous intensity of retro-reflection of a miniature telecentric optical system is investigated. First, from a simulation the theoretical value of the coefficient of luminous intensity of retro-reflection of a miniature telecentric system is estimated. Second, a miniature telecentric camera device is designed, and the value of the coefficient of luminous intensity of retro-reflection of the actual device is measured through experiment. From simulation and experiment, we found that both the estimated and observed values of the coefficient of luminous intensity of retro-reflection range from 0.002 to $0.03m^2/sr$ (P384200CPH: $0.0042-0.018m^2/sr$, P285200CPH: $0.0045-0.0297m^2/sr$, P321450S: $0.0021-0.00963m^2/sr$) at 1.4 to 4.9 arcminute. The results prove the significance of the mechanisms used to design the miniature telecentric camera, and the experimental method. Accordingly, with these significant results, this study contributes to the development of theory and practice in optical engineering science.
