족삼리-해계 전침치료가 정상인의 국소 뇌혈류에 미치는 영향 -Brain SPECT와 SPM을 이용하여- (Effect of ST 36-ST 41 Electro-acupuncture on Regional Cerebral Blood Flow in Normal Volunteers Evaluated by $^{99m}Tc$-ECD SPECT)

  • Objectives: So far it has been reported that acupuncture increases cerebral blood supply and stimulates the functional activity of brain nerve cells. Previous studies have demonstrated that frequently used electro-acupuncture (EA) therapies for stroke increased regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) in normal volunteers. Though ST 36-ST 41 EA is another prevailing therapy for stroke, there had been no report about its effect on rCBF. This study was to evaluate the effect of ST 36-ST 41 EA on rCBF in normal volunteers using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and statistical parametric mapping (SPM). Methods: In the resting state, $^{99m}Tc$-ECD brain SPECT scans were performed on 10 normal volunteers (5 males, 5 female, mean age $23.6{\pm}0.5$ years). On the other study day, 7 days after the resting examination, 15 minutesEA were applied at ST 36 and ST 41 on the right side of the subjects. Immediately after ST36-ST41 EA, the second SPECT images were obtained in the same manner as the resting state. Significant increases and decreases of rCBF after EA were estimated by comparing their SPECT images with those of the resting state using paired t statistics at every voxel, which were analyzed by SPM with a threshold of p = 0.01, uncorrected (extent threshold: k=100 voxels). Results: EA applied at the right ST36-ST41 significantly increased rCBF in the right inferior parietal lobule (Brodmann area [BA] 40), right retrosubicular area (BA 48), left inferior parietal lobule (BA 40), left middle temporal gyrus (BA 21), left fusiform gyrus (BA 37), left inferior parietal lobule (BA 39), left inferior temporal gyrus (BA 20), and left somatosensory association cortex (BA 7). However, right ST36-ST41 EA significantly decreased rCBF in the right parahippocampal gyrus (BA 35), right cerebellum, left frontopolar area (BA 10), left orbitofrontal area (BA 11), left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (BA 9), and left dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (BA 32). Conclusions: These results demonstrate that rightST36-ST41 EA increased rCBF prominently in both inferior parietal lobule (BA 40) and right retrosubicular area (BA 48), which suggest that there be correlation between specific EA and corresponding rCBF.

구강 호흡이 뇌기능에 미치는 영향에 관한 EEG 연구 (EEG Study for the Effects of Mouth Breathing on Brain Functions)

  • 본 연구는 구강 호흡이 뇌기능에 미치는 영향을 뇌전도(EEG : electroencephalogram)를 통해 관찰하고자 한다. 신체가 건강한 12명의 피험자(남성: 6명, 여성: 6명, 나이: 21~27, 비흡연자)는 뇌파를 측정하기 위해 두피에 전극을 부착한 상태로 휴지기 상태에서 비강(Rest_N) 및 구강 호흡(Rest_M)을 수행하였고, 영어 대본을 사용한 청각언어자극이 주어지는 상황에서 비강(Eng_N) 및 구강 호흡(Eng_M)을 수행하였다. 각각의 뇌파는 뇌의 기능별로 크게 4 구역(R1~R4)으로 나뉘어 FFT (Fast Fourier Transform)을 통해 각각의 채널별(e.g., Pf1 and Pf2) 및 주파수 대역별(${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$, ${\theta}$)로 절대 파워(Absolute Power) 비율을 살펴보았다. 도출된 결과에서는 Rest_N과 Rest_M 상태의 뇌파는 서로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 비강 호흡 수행 중 청각언어자극이 주어졌을 때(Rest_N/Eng_N)의 뇌파를 비교했을 경우, 뇌파의 활동이 휴지기 상태의 뇌파 활동보다 통계적으로 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 같은 조건상에서 구강호흡을 했을 때(Rest_M/Eng_M)는 비강 호흡을 실시했을 때와 달리 대부분의 뇌 구역과 주파수 대역에서 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 동일한 조건의 자극에도 불구하고 구강 호흡을 하는 경우는 뇌기능의 변화가 비강 호흡과 다른 결과를 나타내었다.

휴식시 뇌파 활성 분석을 통한 거북목 자세의 불편함 및 주의력에 미치는 영향 연구 (Effect on Discomfort and Attention Through Analysis of Resting-State Brain Wave Activity in Forward Head Posture)

  • 거북목 자세는 현대인의 대표적인 자세 변형 문제로 신체적 및 정신적으로 다양한 문제를 야기하고 있으나 거북목 자세가 휴식시 불편함이나 주의력 분산 등에 미치는 영향은 잘 알려지지 않았다. 이에 본 연구에서는 휴식시의 뇌파 신호 분석을 통하여 거북목 자세가 뇌기능에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 한다. 본 연구에는 33명의 컴퓨터 과사용자가 참여하였고 그들은 모두 컴퓨터 사용시 기능적 거북목 자세가 나타났다. 연구참여자는 정상자세와 거북목 자세를 번갈아 수행하도록 하였고, 각 자세를 5분 동안 유지하는 동안 자극이 주어지지 않은 상태로 휴식시 뇌파를 측정하였다. 뇌파는 32개의 채널에서 신호를 획득하였고, 주파수 분석을 통해 불편함이나 주의력에 밀접한 관련이 있다고 알려져 있는 델타파와 베타파에 대한 자세별 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 거북목 자세에서는 정상자세 보다 9개의 채널에서 델타파의 유의한 감소를 보였고, 14개의 채널에서는 베타파의 유의한 증가를 보여주면서 거북목 자세가 휴식시 뇌기능에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 변화는 심리적 불편감과 주의력 분산 상태에서 나타나는 변화와 일치하며 거북목 자세의 근골격계 변화로 인해 증가된 불편함이 뇌활성에도 영향을 주기 때문으로 보인다. 이러한 결과는 자세 교정이 이루어진다면 휴식시 뇌기능과 심리 상태 개선에 도움이 될 수 있다는 것을 보여주는 중요한 결과로 평가될 수 있다.

서울양로시설의 옥외공간 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of Outdoor Spaces of Nursing Homes in Seoul)

  • In elderly housing facilities where are elderly living facilities, the importance of outdoor space for psychological healing and stability, health improvement and environmental improvement is increasing, since elderly people suffer from depression and are hostile to these facilities. This study aims to identify if outdoor spaces in elderly housing facilities in Seoul have environments appropriate for the elderly and to suggest problems and improvements. For achieving this purpose, nine elderly housing facilities in Seoul were chosen and a field survey was conducted targeting five facilities with outdoor spaces. Based on the previous studies, the concepts of elderly housing facility and outdoor space were organized. Then, a checklist was drawn up as a framework of analysis for evaluating the present state of outdoor spaces of elderly housing facilities and space planning, and improvements were explored. It was found that elderly housing facilities in Seoul had good connectivity and accessibility to the surrounding areas, but there were few supporting facilities, except for resting places. Also, the result of analysis of the present state showed that most elderly housing facilities were located in high lands and the safety of elderly people was being threatened while moving, due to the absence of handrails. In conclusion, it is considered that outdoor space of elderly housing facility should be planned in consideration of safety, affordance and cognition out of the standards of researcher's evaluation tool.

자침이 뇌에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Acupuncture on the Brain in Human)

  • This study was carried to identify whether acupuncture of several acupuncture points can affect the brain and to observe which aspects appear in EEG mapping, using electroencephalography. Those results are as follows ; 1. The pattern of resting computerized EEG map in intact human is appered normal 2. Each Acupuncture in Kwan Weon or Jog Sam Ri meridian points bring about the increase in $\theta,\;\alpha-wave$ activity and at various area of the cerebrium and the decrease in $\delta,\;\beta-wave$ activity. It strands to reason that brain function is elevated On the other hand , synchronous acupuncture bring about the decrease of brain function in view of the decrease of $\delta,\;\theta-wave$ activity at frontal area, and the unstable brain state in view of the increase of $\beta-wave$ activity. 3. Acupuncture in Hyeon Jong meridian point bring about the increase of $\delta,\;\theta-wave$ activity at frontal area and $\beta-wave$ activity at temporal area. From these we deduce that brain function is declined and brain is unstable. Synchronous acupuncture with other meridian points reversly showed that brain function is elevated. 4. Synchronous acupuncture in Kwan Weon , Jog Sam Ri, Hyeon Jong bring about the decrease of the brain function and the unstable brain state, showing the pattern of increased $\delta,\;\theta-wave$ activity at frontal, parietal area, and increased $\beta-wave$ activity at temporal area.

최근 소개된 손목형 심박수 측정 장치의 유용성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Validity of Recently Introduced Wrist Watch Type Heart Rate Monitoring Device)

  • 소아 환자가 치과 진료실에서 느끼는 불안감과 공포에 의해 발생하는 스트레스를 측정하기 위한 다양한 방법이 있다. 치료받은 환아나 보호자를 통한 설문을 이용하는 방법과 생체 반응을 측정하는 방법이 가장 많이 사용되고 있다. 스트레스와 관련한 심박수를 측정하는 방법으로 가장 많이 사용하는 것은 포화도 측정기가 있으나 움직이는 소아에게는 적절하지 못한 문제가 있다. 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 최근 개발되어 소개된 손목형 심박수 측정 장치(Alpha, MIO, USA)를 포화도 측정기(MP110, MECKIS, Republic of Korea)와 비교하였으며 이를 위해 10명의 성인을 대상으로 안정시와 운동 직후의 심박수를 두 기기를 동시에 장착하여 측정된 데이터를 Wilcoxon Singed Rank test를 시행하였다(p < 0.05). 두 기기에서 측정된 데이터 간의 유의한 차이가 없었다(p < 0.05).

운행선상의 연약노반 시험부설구간에서의 장기계측을 통한 거동 특성 (Characteristics of Behavior of the Soft Roadbed through Long-Term Instrumentation on the Field Test)

  • As one of reinforcing methods for soft roadbed, the problems that mud-pumping and settlement occurred by soft roadbed, were investigated, evaluated and analyzed through installing relatively economical and efficient geosynthetics on the selected track-bed for testing. Mock-heang to Dong-ryang on the filed resting sections in the Chung-buk lines were selected as investigating the state of track and prepared field after selecting three of 1,700 spots which often make mud-pumping and requiting maintenance for that. Long curved line radiuses(R) of Mock-heang to Dong-ryang are 500m that were installed with 4 types of geosynthetics layers and one ballast layer. Installed testing cross-section is 200m totally with 40 m between places. Strength or prepared roadbed was measured to investigate the state of roadbed and track with constructing(installing) field testing sections and physical properties of roadbed soils were evaluated and analyzed. Also, mud-pumping, settlement of elastic or plastic sleeper, failure or track, wheel-loads, transverse and earth pressures were measured after installing field testing sections.

피부자극에 의해 유발되는 뇌파의 Time-Frequency 분석 (Time-Frequency Analysis of EEGs Evoked by Tactile Stimulation)

  • This study was peformed to characterize the physiological signal prior to develop an algorithm which quantifies EEGs evoked by tactile stimulation. The experiment was devised with four experimental conditions, which were control and two levels of pressures in tactile sensation. Twenty subjects were used to obtain EEGs while applying tactile stimulation using two types of textiles, soft towel and sand paper, to the right hand of each subject. EEGs were acquired for 20 seconds, and each trial was repeated five times randomly at the different levels of stimulus intensities. The index, $S_{n}$, was obtained by calculating the ratio of energy distribution in the time-frequency plot for each scored psychological state of the subject. The results showed that dominant aspects of the EEG signals have their maximal frequencies concentrated at a lower ranges for the resting and pleasant state, while the spectral energies were distributed to higher frequency ranges when subjects experience an unpleasant emotion.

뇌영상 MEG 데이터에 대한 통계적 분석 문제 (Statistical analysis issues for neuroimaging MEG data)

  • 뇌활동으로 발생하는 전기신호는 다시 자기신호로 유도되는데 센서로 측정한 것을 뇌자도(magnetoencephalography, MEG)라고 한다. MEG 기술은 비접촉, 비침습적인 측정방법이고 시간분해능과 공간분해능력이이 우수하기 때문에 뇌의 기능적인 정보를 얻는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 또한 MEG 신호를 측정하고 분석하여 뇌신경전류의 활동을 이해할 수 있고 나아가 정밀한 뇌기능 연구가 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 뇌 활동(brain activity) 현상에 관한 궁극적 정보를 얻기위해 MEG 데이터의 특성을 설명하고 통계적 문제를 다루어 앞으로 뇌연구에 통계학의 필요성과 뇌정보학의 중요성을 강조하고자 한다.

Analysis and Improvement of the Chrysanthemum Festivals for the Revitalization of Regional Economy

  • This study is to analyze the current state, trend, and preference of the three chrysanthemum festivals representing South Korea that are hosted by local governments, and it is to be used as the basic data for preparing effective plans for the chrysanthemum festivals. The study was conducted from April 20, 2013 to November 25, 2017, and literature review, online search, interviews with persons in charge, field survey, and questionnaire survey were performed. As a result of the field survey, all three festivals had their space structures divided, themes decided and space images depicted based on chrysanthemum sculptures. The landmarks of the city, cultural assets, or great figures were selected to the main theme of the major chrysanthemum sculptures. The sculptures were decorated realistically for users to easily recognize the image. The main chrysanthemum sculptures tended to be introduced repeatedly. As results of the current state of visit and preference, it was found that the number of visitors has increased every year, along with revisits. The satisfaction and the preference for the festival were evaluated positively, and the chrysanthemum festival has become a local festival representing autumn, and a resource for vitalization of the regional economy. However, as a result of the survey, insufficient parking space and resting place, change of image of the sculptures, experience programs, and food shall be improved in order to increase the users satisfaction.
