  • Accounting information systems (AIS) capture and process accounting data and provide valuable information for decision makers. However, in a rapidly changing environment, continual management of the AIS is necessary for organizations to optimize performance outcomes. I suggest that building a dynamic AIS capability enables accounting process and organizational performance. Using the dynamic capabilities framework (Teece 2007). I propose that a dynamic AIS capability can bedeveloped through the synergy of three competencies: having (1) a flexible AIS, (2) a complementary business intelligence system, and (3) accounting professionals with IT technical competency. Using survey data, I find evidence of a positive association between a dynamic AIS capability, accounting process performance, and overall firm performance. The results suggest that developing a dynamic AIS resource can add value to an organization. This study provides guidance for organizations looking to leverage the performance outcomes of their environment.

  • The value of social network and entrepreneurial orientation has widely been acknowledged as a critical resource of business success. However, the previous studies did not specify each role and conceptually have examined them as separate antecedents of firm performance. This study develops propositions concerning network capabilities and investigates the moderating effects of network structures (degree centrality, closeness centrality, and betweenness centrality) on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance. This research conducted with a sample of 115 small consulting companies in Korea. The findings indicate that closeness centrality moderates the relationship between proactiveness and performance. Also, the combination of betweenness centrality and proactiveness exerts a positive impact on performance. Accordingly, degree centrality enhances the influence of innovativeness on performance. In particular, betweenness centrality exacerbates the influence of risk-taking on performance against our expectation. Overall, these findings conclude the synergistic effects of network capability and entrepreneurial orientation on firm performance. Finally, practical implications and academic propositions are presented regarding the way firms could most effectively utilize entrepreneurial orientation and network capability to maximize firm performance.

  • AESA radar is able to instantaneously and adaptively position and control the beam, and such adaptive beam pointing of AESA radar enables to remarkably improve the multi-mission capability, compared with mechanically scanned array radar. AESA radar brings a new challenges, radar resource management(RRM), which is a technique efficiently allocating finite resources, such as energy and time to each task in an optimal and intelligent way. Especially radar beam scheduling is the most critical component for the success of RRM. In this paper, we proposed stochastic radar beam scheduling algorithm using simulated annealing(SA), and evaluated the performance on the multi-function radar scenario. As a result, we showed that our proposed algorithm is superior to previous dispatching rule based scheduling algorithm from the viewpoint of beam processing latency and the number of scheduled beams, with real time capability.

  • Korean government has invested about 400 million dollars to the business incubator using the facilities and human resources of universities and research institutes and successfully operated to contribute the economic development(1.6 billion dollars sales, 5,500 companies) and job creation(16,000 employee) in the end of 2013. Although incubators have grown rapidly, there is limited performance, like a hardware centered support, limited exploitation of resource in the university, less collaboration with the community, less star companies. This research provide a alternative capacity building direction based on the creativity and resource dependence theory. Specifically this paper suggest a building creative incubating center, traversing the valley of death, accelerator for the CPM(Capability, Product, Market) linkage, organic implementation of university resources.

Changes in temperature, rainfalls and humidity which are the representative climate variables are used as main factors. Not only average values of the variables but those highest values are used as independent variables in the model, in order to consider the characteristic pattern of recent climate change, the high volatilities. The OLS results are unlike to previous literature that temperature and humidity had no significant impact on manufacturing productivity. An increase in the amount of precipitation was analyzed that impact negatively impacted. The analysis of panel data showed that temperatures and precipitation all that does not significantly affect the manufacturing. While the increase of the average humidity is shown to increase the total productivity of manufacture industry. In Korea, adaptation capability is important in determining the effects of climate change on productivity of manufacture industry.

  • The increasing demand on the use of multimedia video contents drives more mobile embedded systems to incorporate H.264/AVC decoding capability. An H.264/AVC decoder often requires high computation bandwidth during its decoding phase. Depending upon processor computation capability and multimedia contents complexity, the decoder can be implemented either in hardware or software. However, without a thorough analysis on the Performance and resource requirements, it is difficult to choose a cost-effective methodology of implementing this codec. This paper presents both hardware and software implementation of H.264/AVC decoding subsystem in mobile embedded systems, and quantitatively analyses the performance and resource requirements. It also shows the methodology to identify performance bottleneck in Linux-based mobile embedded systems, which is in turn used to select feasible and efficient implementation methodology.
