열차 하중에 의한 철도노반의 거동 분석 (An Analysis of Railroad Trackbed Behavior under Train Wheel Loads)

  • In the trackbed design using elastic multi-layer model, the stress-dependent resilient modulus is an important input parameter, which reflects substructure performance under repeated traffic loading. The resilient moduli of crushed stone and weathered granite soil were developed using nonlinear dynamic stiffness, which can be measured by in-situ and laboratory seismic tests. The prediction models of resilient modulus varying with the deviatoric or bulk stress were proposed (Park et al., 2008). To investigate the performance of the prediction models proposed herein, the elastic response of the test trackbed near PyeongTaek, Korea was evaluated using a 3-D nonlinear elastic computer program (GEOTRACK) and compared with measured elastic vertical displacement during the passages of freight and passenger trains. The material types of the test sub-ballasts are crushed stone and weathered granite soil, respectively. The calculated vertical displacements within the sub-ballasts are within the order of 1mm, and agree well with measured values with the reasonable margin. The prediction models are thus concluded to work properly in the preliminary investigation. The prediction models proposed for resilient modulus were verified by the comparison of the calculated vertical displacements with measured ones during train passages.

  • 최근 선진 외국은 MR을 적용한 합리적인 포장해석-설계법의 이용을 확대해 나가고 있으며 각 국의 고유한 포장재료에 대한 신뢰성있는 시험방법 및 MR특성에 관한 연구들이 활발히 수행되고 있다. 따라서 국내 포장재료에 대한 MR특성 연구는 매우 중요하며, 특히 대단위 국토건설과 함께 골재난에 직면하고 있는 우리의 실정으로 보아 석탄화력발전소의 산업폐기물인 석탄회를 포장재료로 활용하기 위한 석탄회의 MR특성 연구는 매우 의의 깊은 일이다. 본 연구는 석탄회를 건설재로서의 대량 활용을 위하여 국내 5개 화력발전소에서 부산되고 있는 저희와 비회 그리고 중부지역의 4개 화강토를 연구 대상으로 하여, AASHTO 시험법에 의한 MR특성을 규명하고 MR-CBR상관관계를 규명한 것이다.

Simulation-Based Fault Analysis for Resilient System-On-Chip Design

  • Enhancing the reliability of the system is important for recent system-on-chip (SoC) designs. This importance has led to studies on fault diagnosis and tolerance. Fault-injection (FI) techniques are widely used to measure the fault-tolerance capabilities of resilient systems. FI techniques suffer from limitations in relation to environmental conditions and system features. Moreover, a hardware-based FI can cause permanent damage to the target system, because the actual circuit cannot be restored. Accordingly, we propose a simulation-based FI framework based on the Verilog Procedural Interface for measuring the failure rates of SoCs caused by soft errors. We execute five benchmark programs using an ARM Cortex M0 processor and inject soft errors using the proposed framework. The experiment has a 95% confidence level with a ±2.53% error, and confirms the reliability and feasibility of using proposed framework for fault analysis in SoCs.

  • Secure channels, indispensable to many applications, can be established by using an authenticated key exchange (AKE) protocol where the involving parties authenticate one another and then share authenticated session keys over insecure networks. In this paper, we introduce a new type of AKE protocols that are especially designed to minimize the damages caused by leakages of stored secrets. Such protocols are called Leakage-Resilient AKE (LR-AKE) protocols, whose motivation, design principles, several constructions, security analysis and applications are explained in detail.

현장 탄성계수에 근거한 노상 다짐관리방안 연구 (Study on Establishing the Subgrade Compaction Control Methods Based on the In-situ Elastic Modulus)

  • 1986년 AASHTO 설계법에서 회복탄성계수를 이용한 다짐관리 기법이 제안된 이후, 국내외에서 경험적 설계법에서 역학적-경험적 설계법으로 전환되고 있다. 10여년의 연구결과 노상 다짐관리는 기존의 다짐도와 평판재하시험에서 평판재하시험 및 소형 충격 재하시험, 동적 콘 관입시험으로 전환되어질 예정이다. 본 연구에서는 노상 재료의 물성치와 구조해석을 통해 한국형 도로포장 설계법에서 제시된 회복탄성계수 예측식을 검증하였으며, 실제 평판재하시험, 소형충격재하시험, 동적 콘 관입시험등의 현장시험을 통해 경험적 모델로 추정된 회복탄성계수와 현장 탄성계수 측정값간의 상관관계식들을 개발하였다. 또한 제안된 상관관계를 이용하여 현장시험을 통한 노상의 다짐관리방안을 제안하였다.

Structural health monitoring and resilient assessment by novel intelligent models

  • In this paper, to assess the performance of a multi-span simply supported RC bridge, the dynamic characteristics of the bridge were measured and determined by structural health monitoring and resilient assessment via operational modal analysis as well as FE modeling. Supporting finite element (FE) models were created and analyzed according to the design drawings. This study used 2D plane monitoring of locations of hole in the infill wall and used 3D health monitoring and resilient assessment. From the results of 3Dsymmetric frame, if the frame is unsymmetrical, the used model can lead to the reduction in the internal forces. The recommendations from this study is from some discrepancies observed between 2D and 3D models, if possible 3D model should be used in analyzing the real frames.

  • Axle Gearbox of the High Speed Train has rotational degree of freedom centered on the Axle Shaft Center Line, and constrained by the Reaction Arm connected to the Bogie Frame via Resilient Ring made of Rubber. This System is laid on the Power Train and can influence on the Power transmitted from Motor to Axle. The stiffeness of the Resilient Ring have to be selected for the Natural Frequency of this System do not overlap with the Teeth-mating Frequency. To confirm the Design Parameters, Calculation and Experiment were executed and compared.

슬래브 상부 몰탈층에 사용된 작은시편의 유효성 검토(중량충격음을 중심으로) (Small-size Specimen's Effectiveness That is Used to Mortar Layer of Slab (Heavy-weight Floor Impact Sound))

  • This study examined small-size specimen's effectiveness that is used to evaluate floor impact sound performance. Floor impact sound level of small-size specimen is higher than full-size. This is due to excessive impact power of Bang machine. Impact hammer that has small impact power relatively can solve this problem. But, according to the size of specimen, mode shape and frequency that influence to structural borne sound is changed. Slab mode of full-size specimen was changed to frequency design of resilient materials. But in case of small-size specimen, there is no change of vibration mode by resilient materials change, Vibration mode of small-size specimen is the same. Therefore, it is not proper that use small-size specimen in floor impact sound estimation.

Highly Accurate Approximate Multiplier using Heterogeneous Inexact 4-2 Compressors for Error-resilient Applications

  • We propose a novel, highly accurate approximate multiplier using different types of inexact 4-2 compressors. The importance of low hardware costs leads us to develop approximate multiplication for error-resilient applications. Several rules are developed when selecting a topology for designing the proposed multiplier. Our highly accurate multiplier design considers the different error characteristics of adopted compressors, which achieves a good error distribution, including a low relative error of 0.02% in the 8-bit multiplication. Our analysis shows that the proposed multiplier significantly reduces power consumption and area by 45% and 26%, compared with the exact multiplier. Notably, a trade-off relationship between error characteristics and hardware costs can be achieved when considering those of existing highly accurate approximate multipliers. In the image blending, edge detection and image sharpening applications, the proposed 8-bit approximate multiplier shows better performance in terms of image quality metrics compared with other highly accurate approximate multipliers.

Design of sliding-type base isolators by the concept of equivalent damping

  • One problem with base isolators of the sliding type is that their dynamic responses are nonlinear, which cannot be solved in an easy manner, as distinction must be made between the sliding and non-sliding phases. The lack of a simple method for analyzing structures installed with base isolators is one of the obstacles encountered in application of these devices. As an initial effort toward simplification of the analysis procedure for base-isolated structures, an approach will be proposed in this paper for computing the equivalent damping for the resilient-friction base isolators (R-FBI), based on the condition that the sum of the least squares of errors of the linearized response with reference to the original nonlinear one is a minimum. With the aid of equivalent damping, the original nonlinear system can be replaced by a linear one, which can then be solved by methods readily available. In this paper, equivalent damping curves are established for all ranges of the parameters that characterize the R-FBI for some design spectra.
