There is a large amount of empirical literature reporting that people who regularly attend religious services tend to have better health outcomes. However, it remains an unanswered question as to whether the observed correlation reflects any causality. Exploiting exogenous changes in church attendance driven by law changes in 21 states of the U.S., I find tentative but suggestive evidence that the observed strong correlation between religious participation and health is likely to be driven by endogenous selection.

Variability of active galactic nuclei is now a well-known phenomenon. This remains to be fully explained by a theoretical model of the central engine. Time scales of AGN variability seem to range continuously from hours up to months. The short time scale variability must be related to the phenomena on the event horizon of the black hole, while the long one to those in the accretion disk or surrounding matter. Based on the axisymmetric, nonstationary model of the central engine, we discuss theoretical considerations on the variability of active galactic nucleus.

In this study, a new accommodation-dependent crystalline lens with a constant volume and homogeneous refractive index is developed. The human lens parameters, such as curvature and thickness, are calculated at the central parts of the lens, and the asphericity is adjusted at the peripheral parts of the lens due to accommodation. We propose a accommodating schematic eye which is suitable for easy paraxial calculations because the refractive index of the lens remains uniform and constant.

In this paper, we propose a retransmission based error control scheme in which a stop-and-wait ARQ is simultaneously performed in two adjacent layers for the node-to-node error control. We develop an analytical numerical method to calculate the probability of error remains and the moments of the high layer message delay time at steady state. Using the analytical method, we investigate the performance of double-layered ARQ scheme with respect to the properties of the employed CRC codes and the characteristics of the involved channel.

The selection of a curing light is a multifactorial decision. While each method of polymerization presents unique clinical benefits, the optimal light-curing technique remains to be determined. The objective of this study was to check the difference of micro hardness and microleakage according to various light intensity (50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 600 ㎽/$\textrm{cm}^2$) and curing time (10, 20, 40 seconds). A3 color of two composite resin, hybrid type DenFil and submicron type Esthet X were tested.(중략)

The characteristics of thermal instabilities of natural convection in a horizontal fluid layer bounded below by a rigid plate and above by an interface with a passive gas is presented. The critical Grashof number decreases as the surface tension gradient effect (Marangoni effect) at the interface increases and the flow remains unstable for a critical Marangoni number depending on Prandtl numbers. These results are in substantial agreement with those of Smith and Davis.

Fuel flexibility remains a critical issue related the development of low emission lean premixed combustion system and the combustion adjustment technique. To cover the this work scope with our own technology, KEPCO had focused on operational technology related to GT combustion control. The main purpose of this paper is summary of the research works on fuel flexibility in KRPCO Research Institute recently. Furthermore, the specifications of test facility and research work in the future in KEPRI were also explained briefly for expected collaborative research team in Korea.

The decision maker has the job of torecasting capital investments and operating expenses to aid the decision making in choosing and evaluating present and future alternatives. The estimating function eventually analysis, evaluates and choose the alternatives. The analysis stemmed originally from a preliminary design of some sort, and eventually plans are started to investigate investment possibilites. This study provide the descounted cash flow and the present worth method. Despite any choice of an analytical method, there remains the problem of predicting certain future events. Therefore, these models dealing with optimum plant sizing, equipment replacement, and lease or buy will be discussed.

In the present paper, we investigate a problem in a sym-metric Finsler space, which is a special space. First we prove that if a symmetric space remains to be a symmetric one under the Z-projective change, then the space is of zero curvature. Further we will study W-recurrent space and D-recurrent space under the pro-jective change.

Necrotizing sialometaplasia is a rare, benign, self-limiting inflammatory process, with most cases occurring in the palatal region. Although the pathophysiology of this condition remains unknown, it has generally been considered an ischemic reaction involving the minor salivary glands. Due to its clinical and histologic similarities to malignant salivary gland tumor, diagnostic biopsy is required. Careful monitoring is also recommended, and clinicians should provide sufficient information for pathologists to ensure the histologic diagnosis.
