The Role of Maternal Interpersonal Relation Satisfaction in the Relationship between Conflicted Teacher-Child Relationship and Negative Peer Interaction Quality in Young Children

  • The effects of conflicted teacher-child relation on conflicted or passive peer interaction and a moderation effect of mothers' interpersonal relation satisfaction on the associations were assessed. Children from 2- to 6-year-olds (184 girls, 185 boys) mostly from middle socioeconomic-status urban community in Korea and their teachers and mothers participated. Conflicted teacher-child relation predicted conflicted peer interaction but not passive peer interaction. Children, whose relationship with teachers were conflicted, engaged in conflicted play with peers more often than children who were in less conflicted relationship with the teachers. Teachers who were in conflicted relationship with the children, perceived the children having conflicted interaction with peers more often, if mothers of the children were less satisfying in relationship with significant others, especially boys. Children, whose mothers are in less satisfying interpersonal relation with others, were more passive in peer interaction than children whose mothers are in more satisfying interpersonal relationship.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of young children's shyness on the relationship between teacher-children relationship and young children's social competence. The subjects of the study were 270 children from three years to five years old and their teachers in Busan. Frequency, t-test, Cronbach ${\alpha}$, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchial regression were used for data analysis. The results were as follows: first, teacher-children intimacy showed positive correlation with the young children's social competence. Teacher-children conflict showed negative correlation with the young children's social competence. Second, teacher-children intimacy showed negative correlation with the young children's shyness. Teacher-children conflict showed positive correlation with the young children's shyness. Third, young children's shyness showed negative correlation with the young children's social competence. Fourth, young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher-children intimacy and young children's sociability. Young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher-children intimacy and young children's popularity and leadership. Young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher- children conflict and young children's sociability. Young children's shyness had partial mediating effects on the relationship between teacher-children conflict and young children's popularity and leadership.

자녀와의 애착유형에 따라 가족관계가 한국 노인의 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Family Relationships on Successful Aging according to the Attachment Style of the Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 자녀와의 애착유형에 따라 가족관계가 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향에 관하여 인과적 경로모형을 설정하고 이를 검증하였다. 연구대상자는 60세 이상의 노인 509명이다. 애착유형별 연구모형의 적합도 및 경로계수, 매개효과를 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 안정형은 연구모형의 적합도가 다소 낮았으며 성공적 노화에 대하여 배우자, 자녀, 손자녀와의 관계 모두 유의미하지 않았다. 둘째, 몰두형은 배우자 및 손자녀와의 관계가 성공적 노화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 배우자와의 관계는 자녀와의 관계에 그리고 자녀와의 관계는 손자녀와의 관계에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 손자녀와의 관계는 자녀와의 관계가 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향을 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 거부형은 배우자 및 손자녀와의 관계가 성공적 노화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 자녀와의 관계는 손자녀와의 관계에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 손자녀와의 관계는 자녀와의 관계가 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향을 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 두려움형은 성공적 노화에 대하여 배우자 및 자녀와의 관계가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 배우자와의 관계는 자녀와의 관계에 영향을 미치고 자녀와의 관계는 손자녀와의 관계에 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 자녀와의 관계는 배우자와의 관계가 성공적 노화에 미치는 영향을 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 애착유형별 연구모형은 각 유형별 차이뿐만 아니라 전체집단 모형과도 차이가 나타났는데, 이러한 결과는 성공적 노화에 관한 가족관계 변인을 연구함에 있어 노인의 애착을 고려하는 것이 유용함을 시사한다 하겠다.

교사-유아관계와 유아의 사회적 능력과의 관계 (Relationship of Children with Their Teachers and Children's Social Competence)

  • This study was designed to examine the relationships between three distinct dimensions of teacher-child relationship(closeness, conflict, and dependency) and various aspects of children's social competence. The subjects were 101 children at their ages of five to six years old (56 keys, 45 girls) in Jeonju city. The data were collected through preschool teachers by using self-administered questionnaire method. The results showed that teacher-child relationship was significantly associated with their social competence in preschool. Specifically, closeness in children's relationship with their teachers was fouled to be strongly correlated with children's social competence, white conflict between children and their teachers was negatively related with children's social competence. Finally, children's dependency on their Coachers was associated with children's problem behaviors.

어머니와의 애정적 유대가 아동의 외로움에 미치는 영향 -부정적 인지 조절 능력의 성별 매개효과를 중심으로 - (The Effects of Affectionate Relationship with Children's Mother on Loneliness -Negative Cognitive Regulation's Mediating Role-)

  • This study examined the negative cognitive regulation's mediating role between affectionate relationship with children's mother and loneliness. The subjects were 491 5th and 6th grade school children in Seoul and $Ky\breve{o}nggi$. Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation and regression. Results showed that affectionate relationship with children's mother was positively related to negative cognitive regulation. Affectionate relationship with children's mother and negative cognitive regulation was negatively related to loneliness. The principal finding was that negative cognitive regulation had mediating role between affectionate relationship with children's mother and loneliness in boys. But negative cognitive regulation didn't have mediating role between affectionate relationship with children's mother and loneliness in girls.

아동실의 물리적인 환경이 아동정서에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effect of Physical Environment of Childroom on Children's Emotion)

  • The purpose of this research is to find out environmental characteristics of elementary school children's room, and determine the relationship between children's room environment and their emotional characteristics. For the research, used were a developed measurement instrument for environmental characteristics of children's room as well as the emotion measurement instrument published by Korean Testing Co. and developed by Dr. Lee Jong-seung for elementary school children in their higher year grades. The results showed that environmental characteristics of children's room has relationship with children's emotional characteristics. The order of environmental characteristics had a direct and high relationship with children's emotional characteristics, while originality had indirect relationship with children's emotional characteristics through intervening variables. The human relationship of children's emotional characteristics was the most influenced by children's room environmental characteristics.

노인의 교육참여가 인지기능에 미치는 영향: 자녀관계 만족도의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Effects of Participation in Adult Education on Cognitive Function: The Mediating Effect of Relationship with Children among Older Adults)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of participation in adult education on cognitive function, and the mediating effects of relationships with children among older adults. This study employed data from the 2011 Elderly Survey, and a total of 8,668 older adults over 65-years old were used for analysis. Multiple linear regression analyses were used to examine the mediating effect of relationship with children based on the approach proposed by Baron & Kenny (1986). The results showed that participation in adult education increased cognitive function of older adults. Adult education participation also increased satisfaction with relationship with children, and relationship with children was found to have a mediating effect. These findings suggest that there is a need to recognize the importance of the relationship between older adults and children when developing education programs for older adults.

이혼 후 비양육부모의 자녀와의 접촉 및 관계만족도 (Divorced Noncustodial Fathers' and Mothers' Contact and Relationship Satisfaction with Children)

  • Understanding the experience of parents without custody after divorce is important in terms of facilitating their adjustment and positive relationships with their children. Ninety-two noncustodial parents divorced within the previous 5 years completed a structured questionnaire. We examined differences between noncustodial fathers and mothers in terms of the frequency of the contact and the relationship satisfaction with children. In addition, using the regression model, we analyzed the effects of several characteristics of noncustodial parents, including gender, on the frequency of contact as well as the relationship satisfaction with children. The main results of the study are as follows. First, noncustodial fathers and mothers exhibited similar low levels of contact by phone and in-person visits. Second, noncustodial parents with a child older than 8 years old visited the child more frequently, and were more satisfied than noncustodial parents with younger children. Third, the level of desire to gain the child custody had a significant effect on the frequency of contact and the satisfaction of the relationship between the noncustodial parents and their children. Fourth, noncustodial parents with more positive feeling about their former spouse contacted more frequently with the children. Fifth, compared with noncustodial fathers, noncustodial mothers demonstrated a higher relationship satisfaction with their children.

주거환경과 학령기 아동 인성간의 상관성 연구 (Relationship between Housing Environment and Elementary School Children's Personality)

  • The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between housing environment and elementary school children's personality. The samples of this research are 459 children from elementary schools in their fourth or higher year grades. The results were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and t-test, F-test and multi regression. The findings indicated that housing type does not have effect on environmental characteristics of children's room, while housing ownership type, housing size and children's room size have significant effects on them. Housing size and children's room size have significant effects on children's satisfaction. The larger children room provides higher satisfaction with children room environment. The finding showed that environmental characteristics of children's room have relationship with children's personality. The order of environmental characteristics of children's room has the highest relationship with children's personality.

부모의 바람직하지 않은 양육행동과 아동의 친구관계 및 자기조절학습능력이 아동의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Undesirable Parenting Behavior, Children's Peer Relationship and Self-regulated Learning on Children's Self-esteem)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of undesirable parenting behavior, children's peer relationship and self-regulated learning on children's self-esteem. Using the data from Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey, this study was conducted with Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). The results of this study were as follows. First, parents' undesirable parenting behavior influenced directly on children's self-esteem, and peer relationship. Second, children's peer relationship influenced directly on self-regulated learning, and self-esteem. Third, children's self-regulated learning influenced directly on self-esteem. Fourth, parents' undesirable parenting behavior did not influenced directly on children's self-regulated learning. But children's peer relationship and self-regulated learning had mediating effects on the relationship between undesirable parenting behavior and children's self-esteem.
