유아의 외현적.관계적 공격성에 대한 어머니의 반응과 유아의 공격적 행동 간의 관계 (Relations between Mothers' Responses about Their Preschoolers' Overt and Relational Aggression by Preschoolers' Aggressive Behaviors)

  • In this study, mothers of 205 4- to 5-year-old preschoolers responded to aggression episodes of Werner et al. (2006); preschoolers' teachers responded to the Preschool Social Behavior Scale (Crick et al., 1997). Results showed, (1) boys exhibited more overt and relational aggression. (2) In overt aggression episodes, mothers used encouragement to boys and rule violation responses to girls; in relational aggression episodes, mothers used encouragement and power assertion responses to girls. (3) Mothers' power assertion about overt aggression related negatively with preschoolers' overt aggressive behaviors; mothers' discussion about relational aggression related positively with preschoolers' overt aggressive behaviors. Implications of these findings for the mothers' responses by aggression types were discussed in order in better understand preschooler's aggressive behaviors.

교사-유아의 관계와 유아의 또래유능성 및 자기조절능력 간의 관계연구 (Teacher-Child Relations : Interactions with Children's Peer-Competence and Self-Regulation)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the teacher-child relationship as it is self-conceived by teachers in regards to children's peer-competence and self-regulation and to also examine how the teacher-child relationship affects peer-competence and self-regulation. 17 teachers were surveyed using the Student-Teacher Relationship Scale, Peer-Competence Scale and Self-Regulation Scale in regard to approximately 270 children (aged 4-5 years old). Our results indicated that the pro-sociality, sociality, and leadership qualities of child peer-competence correlated positively with the friendliness of teacher-child relationships but correlated negatively in cases of conflicts within the teacher-child relationship. The factors of self-appraisal, self-determination and behavior inhibition of child self-regulation were found to be positively related with the friendliness of teacher-child relation but related negatively with presence of the conflict within the teacher-child relationship. It was also found that sociable and self-determinative children tended to be on more friendly terms with teachers.

입양모의 결혼만족도와 우울이 양육역량을 매개로 입양아동의 문제행동에 미치는 영향 (The Mediating Effect of Parenting Competency on the Relationship between Marital Satisfaction and Depression of Adoptive Mother and Problem Behavior of Adopted Child)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of marital satisfaction and depression of adoptive mother on the problem behaviors of adopted children and the mediating effects of parenting competency between them. Contextual variables such as family background and adoption-related characteristics were also included as control variables. The results of multiple regression analysis showed marital satisfaction had significant influence on the problem behavior of adopted child through flexibility of parenting competency, while depression was not significantly related to parenting competency of adoptive mother. Yet, maternal depression had direct influence on the problem behavior of adopted child. Based on the limitations of the study, suggestions for further study were made.

  • This study investigates the moderating effects of the teacher-child relationship on the relationship between young children's self-control and behavior problems. 150 young children aged 3, 4, and 5 and their 40 classroom teachers participated in this study. The results of this investigation reveal the following: (1) Young children's self-control is significantly related to behavior problems. (2) The teacher-child relationship (conflict, dependence, intimacy) is significantly related to young children's behavior problems. (3) The effects of self-control on young children's anxiety and withdrawal behavior are significantly moderated by conflict driven teacher-child relationships. (4) The effects of self-control on young children's aggression and impulsive behavior are significantly moderated by dependent teacher-child relationships.

아동의 스트레스 대처행동과 인터넷 게임중독 위험성과의 관계 (Relationships Between Children's Stress-Coping Styles and Risk of Internet Gaming Addiction)

  • The relation of children's stress-coping styles to Risk of Internet Gaming Addiction(RIGA) was examined in 662 4th, 5th and 6th grade subjects. Results showed that active coping styles were negatively but aggressive and passive/avoidant coping styles were positively related to RIGA. In male students, coping styles of "active" and "passive/avoidant", "aggressive" influenced RIGA factors of "maladaptive behaviors" and "negative emotional experience". In female students, coping styles of seeking social support related positively to RIGA; coping styles of "active", "passive/avoidant", and "aggressive" influenced "maladaptive behaviors", "negative emotional experience", and coping styles of "active" and "passive/avoidant", "seeking social support" influenced "low academic attitude", RIGA factors, respectively. Coping styles of "active", "passive/avoidant", "aggressive", and "seeking-social-support" influenced "psychological absorption and fixation".

인터넷 중독에 따른 초등학생의 비사회 행동 연구 (Research on Asocial Behavior by Types of Internet Addiction in Elementary School Students)

  • An internet addiction measure(Park et al., 2001) and an asocial behavior measure(K. J. Lee, 1997) were administered to 232 6th-grade students. Statistical analyses were by mean-difference scores and t-test. Results showed that all aspects of internet addiction(preoccupation, compulsive use, relapse, tolerance/dependence and impediments in daily life) were related to both the inner asocial behaviors of depression, social withdrawal and over-anxiety and the external asocial behaviors of aggressiveness, delinquency and hyperactivity. The only exception was that tolerance/dependence was not related to delinquency. Boys addicted to the internet were more socially withdrawn, aggressive, delinquent and hyperactive than girls. From the results, it can be suggested that internet education should be carried out from the elementary educational level.

  • The boundary layer is a very important characteristic of a liquid-vapor interface since it governs the heat and mass transfer phenomena across an interface. However, the thickness of a boundary layer is generally micro- or nano-sized, which requires highly accurate measurement devices and, consequently, costs the related experiments very high and time-consuming. Due to these size dependent limitations, the experiments related with a nano-scaled size have suffered from the errors and the reliability of the obtained data. This study is performed to grasp the characteristics of a liquid-vapor interface, by using a molecular dynamics method. The simulation results were compared with other studies if possible. Although other studies reported that there existed a temperature discontinuity over an interface when the system was reduced to micro- or nano-sized, we confirmed that there was no such a temperature discontinuity.

시설보호 아동의 스트레스 대처행동과 행동문제간의 관계 (The relationships between institutionalized children's stress coping behaviors and behavior problems)

  • The purpose of current study was to investigate the relationships between institutionalized children's stress coping behaviors and behavior problems. The subjects were composed of 80 primary school 4th, 5th, 6th graders(45 boys, 35 girls) and 55 middle school 1th, 2th graders(42 boys, 13 girls) who were institutionalized in jeonju. The major findings were as follows: 1) The institutionalized children's stress coping behaviors were significantly different between the groups based on gender, grade, and period in institution. 2) The institutionalized children's problem behaviors were statistically different between the groups based on gender and period in institution. 3) In regression analysis models, active or passive coping strategies were negatively or positively related to internalized behavior problems respectively. Furthermore period in institution was positively related to externalized behavior problems.

국내외 인삼연구동향에 대한 분석 및 고찰연구 (Systematic Analysis of Ginseng-focused Research Worldwide)

  • Objective : To construct a comprehensive understanding of thepharmaceutical efficacies of ginseng, then build a basis for a research strategy for development of Korean ginseng as a globally-competitive medical product. Methods : Surveying literature, we found 1690 ginseng-focused papers in Pub-Med. Analysis of was done of number of reports according to date, nation, components of Panax ginseng, research methods, and effects of ginseng. Results : The main countries contributing toginseng research are China, Korea, Japan and America. Recently, ginseng-related studies have been increasing, and individual compounds from ginseng or its products rather than ginseng itself are subjects for study. Anti-cancer associated or neuroprotective effects showed priority in therapeutic efficacy. Panax ginseng was the focus of around 60% of all ginseng-related studies, but only 22% of them were done in Korea. Conclusion :This review will help Korean doctors or scientists to systematically understand ginseng as a powerfulherbal medicine, and to develop Korean ginseng as a globally competitive drug in world markets.

Direct effect of protein kinase C inhibitors on cardiovascular ion channels

  • Protein kinase C (PKC) is a central enzyme that modulates numerous biological functions. For this reason, specific PKC inhibitors/activators are required to study PKC-related signaling mechanisms. To date, although many PKC inhibitors have been developed, they are limited by poor selectivity and nonspecificity. In this review, we focus on the nonspecific actions of PKC inhibitors on cardiovascular ion channels in addition to their PKC-inhibiting functions. The aim of this paper is to urge caution when using PKC inhibitors to block PKC function. This information may help to better understand PKC-related physiological/biochemical studies.
