This secondary analysis study used the 2015 Korea Health Panel data to identify the difference of factors affecting the quality of life (QoL) of Korean adults with diabetes mellitus (DM). The data from 1,343 subjects who met the criteria for screening was analyzed by multiple linear regression and quantile regression analyses. As a result, the average QoL of the subjects was .86 (±.14). The factors affecting the QoL of the subjects were age, gender, education level, spouse, economic activity, type of health insurance, and regular physical activity (all p<.05). However, there were differences of the results when dividing the subjects into three groups according to their QoL level. The factors for the lower 25% group were age, gender, education level, spouse, economic activity, type of health insurance, and regular physical activity, and those factors for the middle 50% group were age, gender, education level, spouse, type of health insurance, and regular physical activity, and those factors for the top 75% group were spouse, economic activity, household income, type of health insurance, and duration of DM. Based on these results, it is important to develop and provide a differentiated intervention strategy that considers the influential factors in order to improve the QoL of Korean adults with DM.
This research is intended to reveal the correlations between diabetes and dietary and other related factors. We were studied for 257 diabetics, in t도 9 general hospitals, located at Seoul, From August 109 to September 3, 1986. The result of this study can be follow ; 1) Distribution of the subjects according to their general characteristics ; The sex ration of the subjects is 1.06 ; 1.00 (male ; female), and the average age is 54.7 $\pm$10.9 years. Among the subjects 28.8% have a family history of diabetes ; the closer the genetic relationship, the more hereditory factors play a part. 2) Distribution of the scores according to their socioeconomic status ; As the socioeconomic status goes p, the intake of calories and fiber increases ; however, the frequency of eating out and the degree of physical activity decrease. 3) Relationship between obesity prevalence and each variable ; Among the subjects 27.2% are obese, and 60.3% have been obese in the past. Even though there is no significant relationship between the food habit and obesity, the number of people who are obese shows a significant increase as the socioeconomic status improves. 4) The effect of sex on each variable ; The intake of calories, sugar, alcohol and coffee is higher in male subjects, as is the frequency of eating out. In regular exercise and physical activity, there are significant differences between male and female subjects.

There was no difference in mother's oral health management behavior to their children according to parents' education level, the subjects' age and family income. Most of mother answered the main reason of dental caries was that their children did not toothbrush their teeth regularly and there was a difference in the understanding of the subjects in accordance with the education level of fathers and family income. The subjects had a low understanding of the effect of preventing caries with the help of fluoride. They didn't have enough understanding of water fluoridation. So it is necessary that active campaigns should be launched to enlighten people in relation to the ways of preventing dental caries with fluoride.
The purpose of this study was to compare the anthropometry and nutrition knowledge, food behaviour and lifestyle of women college students with different obesity indexes. The subjects were 251 women college students who were randomly selected from Kunsan National University. The height, body weight, soft/lean mass, fat mass, percentage of body fat, and fat distribution were measured, and health-related lifestyle habits were evaluated based on questionnaires. The subjects were assigned to one of the following groups based on their Body Mass Index (BMI) : underweight, normal weight and overweight. The results were as follows. Their body weight, soft/lean mass, fat mass, percentage of body fat, and fat distribution were significantly higher in the overweight subjects when compared to the underweight or normal weight subjects. Standard of living, self-recognition of health status and duration of exercise were significantly correlated with their BMIs. Self-satisfaction with body weight decreased as the BMI increased. Most subjects had poor habits such as skipping meals and lack of exercises. The overweight and the underweight groups skipped meals more frequently than the normal weight group. There were no significant differences in the scores on the nutritional knowledge and the dietary behaviour of the subjects with different BMIs. Therefore, proper nutritional education on regular meals and intervention are required if women college students are to have normal weights and healthy lifestyles.
