  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the reflection rubric on frequency and content of critical thinking in CSCA. The researcher carried out research during 4 weeks, on 60 students taking the course of 'educational methods and educational technology' in K collage. As the result of this study, The reflection rubric frequency could not be significant difference in critical thinking, but could be significant difference in critical thinking content and collaboration argumentation. The reflection rubric could prevent learner form giving one side reasoning, considered both side opinion and grounds. Also the reflection rubric could trigger learner to construct collaborative knowledge building more strongly. This study showed that the reflection rubric have significant impacts on the argumentation collaboration learning in CSCA.

  • In a good class, the elements that make up the class are organically related as a system. Unilateral assessment without sufficient explanation or agreement on assessment criteria, subjective assessment that does not guarantee the reliability of the assessment process and decolonized evaluation separate from the learning process can be a threat to a good class or healthy learning ecosystem. This study analyzed the evaluation through rubric and its effects to solve problems related to educational evaluation. 'Rubrick' is a descriptive evaluation tool that details the criteria for evaluating performance tasks based on class goals and the quality of performance in several stages. The rubric applied for movie literacy evaluation is 'analytical rubric'. It covers literacy to understand movies, movie making literacy and movie utilization literacy. For rubric, learners recognized it as a valid and very useful learning reflection tool.

  • The main purpose of this study was to develop a program outcomes assessment tool using reflection journal. Reflection journal has recently come to gain more attention from school as an alternative assessment tool. Although numerous studies reconfirmed the educational importance and value of reflection journal as an assessment tool, research on the assessment tool of the engineering accreditation, based on education view is scarce. After literature reviews about the case studies on the program outcomes assessment, this study, to analyse the current assessment tools, and then, examined the educational implications of reflection journal as a program outcomes assessment tool. This study suggested the assessment tool using reflection journal for PO6 (teamwork) and PO11 (engineering ethics), one of the most important assessment items in engineering accreditation. In this study, we used the performance criteria, assessment criteria, rubric, and closed the loop to measure the teamwork and engineering ethics. The result of this study is significant in terms of guiding the future evaluation system development for program outcomes.

  • The Making-books Program(Byun, unpublished) uses the Arts PROPEL approach based on multiple-intelligences theory(Gardner, 1983). PROPEL is a loose acronym for production, perception and reflection, 3 stages in the learning process. The Making-books Program includes designing rubrics, making-books, and publishing. Effect of the program on creativity was examined by before- and after-testing by TTCT. Participants were 63 7-year-old children with 30 children in the experimental and 33 children in the control group. On the pre-test, there was no between groups difference in the participants' creativity on the TTCT. After 21 treatments, the effectiveness of the Making-books Program was shown by significant between group differences on the post-test.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand two geography student teachers' experience of practical knowledge on the geography classroom organization during their student teaching. I carried out a qualitative case study on the geography classroom organization and its practice. Data was gathered through participant observation and in-deep interview. The results are as follows: 1) I present portraits two pre-service geography teachers' lives, which represent typical case of intrinsic deep motivation and spontaneous interest in subject matter. 2) Their classroom are organized $9{\sim}14$ segment, its segment organizations in introduction close steps and main lesson step behave differently. The segment activities in close step behave most irregularly. 3) In the reflection rubric, the level of their reflection is middle, mostly concentrated on 'technical' or 'dialogue' level. On the basis of these findings, it can be concluded that a different way of understanding the relationship between knowing to teach and knowing about teaching is necessary.

  • Purpose: The aim of this preliminary study was to evaluate the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum on development of comprehension of basic medical knowledge and quality of semi-structured problem solving including scientific reasoning skill. This scientific reasoning contained five components including: size of simple, design of research cause-effect, construction of risk factor, analysis statistic of data, interpretation of result. Materials and Methods: Seoul National University Dental students (100) participated in this experience during two weeks, 2004. Forty eight multiple-choice questions (MCQ) concerned "Infection Control and Prevention" were asked before and after two sections of Lecture-Based Learning (LBL) and PBL (pretest-posttest control group design). A semi-structured problem in epidemiological research was asked to these students after two sections (posttest-only control group design). Data (mean and SD) were analysed using the t Test for two independent samples (p<.05), comparing PBL versus LBL. Results: Our analyse of scores show no difference between LBL and PBL in the development of comprehension of "Infection Control and Prevention". The quality problem solving (epidemiological research) was significantly different between the two groups (p=.029); specially, two components' scores of reflection on scientific reasoning cause-effect (p=.000) and interpretation of result (p=.001) were significantly better for PBL than for LBL. Conclusion: Theses results indicate that comparing LBL and PBL, PBL curriculum have not been disadvantaged in comprehension of basic knowledge, and have contributed to develop the scientific reasoning in problem solving.
