  • The differentiated services(DiffServ) architecture provides packet level service differentiation through the simple and predefined Per-Hop Behaviors(PHBs). The Assured Forwarding(AF) PHB proposed as the assured services uses the RED-in/out(RIO) approach to ensusre the expected capacity specified by the service profile. However, the AF PHB fails to give good QoS and fairness to the TCP flows. This is because OUT(out- of-profile) packet droppings at the RIO buffer are unfair and sporadic during only network congestion while the TCP's congestion control algorithm works with a different round trip time(RTT). In this paper, we propose an Adaptive Regulating Drop(ARD) marker, as a novel dropping strategy at the ingressive edge router, to improve TCP fairness in assured services without a decrease in the link utilization. To drop packets pertinently, the ARD marker adaptively changes a Temporary Permitted Rate(TPR) for aggregate TCP flows. To reduce the excessive use of greedy TCP flows by notifying droppings of their IN packets constantly to them without a decrease in the link utilization, according to the TPR, the ARD marker performs random early fair remarking and dropping of their excessive IN packets at the aggregate flow level. Thus, the throughput of a TCP flow no more depends on only the sporadic and unfair OUT packet droppings at the RIO buffer in the core router. Then, the ARD marker regulates the packet transmission rate of each TCP flow to the contract rate by increasing TCP fairness, without a decrease in the link utilization.

  • In this paper, the correlation between the growth mechanism and the optical property in GaN films grown by low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition was characterized using room temperature cathodoluminescence spectroscopy. An intense near band-edge emission, 364nm, and deep-level emission, 550nm, were observed. The intensity of 364nm peak was increased with increasing the beam current. Also the peak position of 364nm emission was red-shifted and the intensity of 550nm peak was increased with increasing the accelerating voltage. It shows that the deep-level emission is strongly associated with crystalline defects in the GaN at early stage. The relationship between the microstructure and the deep level emission observed by scanning electron microscope images and cathodoluminescence spectra was carefully analyzed.

  • This research paper proposes a secured, robust approach of information security using steganography. It presents two component based LSB (Least Significant Bit) steganography methods for embedding secret data in the least significant bits of blue components and partial green components of random pixel locations in the edges of images. An adaptive LSB based steganography is proposed for embedding data based on the data available in MSB's (Most Significant Bits) of red, green, and blue components of randomly selected pixels across smooth areas. A hybrid feature detection filter is also proposed that performs better to predict edge areas even in noisy conditions. AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and random pixel embedding is incorporated to provide two-tier security. The experimental results of the proposed approach are better in terms of PSNR and capacity. The comparison analysis of output results with other existing techniques is giving the proposed approach an edge over others. It has been thoroughly tested for various steganalysis attacks like visual analysis, histogram analysis, chi-square, and RS analysis and could sustain all these attacks very well.

  • As color was used for formative language since a human activity was beginning, all the symptoms in the world that the human eye can see is present. In this paper, we identify Korea traditional color harmony for extracted key frames from scene change detection. Traditional color is classified as 5-Jung-color and 5-Kan-color, and determine whether to harmony. Red, blue, yellow, black, and white, called 5-Jung-color and pink, blue, purple, sulfur, and green, called the 5-Kan-color was identified. First, we extract edge using Canny algorithm. And, we are labeling and clustering colors around the edge. Finally, we identify the traditional color using identification method of traditional color harmony. The proposed study in this paper has been proven through experiments.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of hydrocortisone in the fusion mechanism of the secondary palatine shelves in the rat. Pregnant rats were injected with 5.0 mg/100 gm body weight of hydrocortisone for 3 days between the 7th day and the 9th day of pregnancy. Between the 14th day md the 18 day of pregnancy, the fetuses were removed and decapitated to be immersed in $10\%$ formalin and Carney's solution. Preparations were stained with alizarin red S, hematoxylin-eosin and alcian blue respectively, and partly were treated for Periodic acid-Schiff reaction. The results were as followings: 1. The incomplete fusion of the palatal epithelium took place though the polarity of epithelial cells. 2. At the edge of shelves the differentiation of mesenchymal cells was observed, but the inter penetration of mesenchyme was not shown. 3. It was considered that the phenomenon of hypocalcification in matrix had relation to the decrease stainability to alizarin red S in shelves. 4. It might be concluded that the connective tissue under epithelium showed the decrease tendency to alcian blue and PAS reaction due to the inhibition of the synthesis of the mucopolysaccharide.

  • The 8m class telescopes in the ground-based optical astronomy together with help from the ultra-sharp eye of the Hubble Space Telescope have enabled us to observe forming galaxies beyond red shift z = 5. In particular, more than twenty Ly$\alpha$-emitting galaxies have already been found at z > 5. These findings provide us with useful hints to investigate how galaxies formed and then evolved in the early universe. Further, detailed analysis of Ly$\alpha$ emission line profiles are useful in exploring the nature of the intergalactic medium because the trailing edge of cosmic reionization could be close to z $\~$ 6 -7, at which forming galaxies have been found recently. We also discuss the importance of superwinds from forming galaxies at high redshift, which has an intimate relationship between galaxies and the intergalactic medium. We then give a review of early cosmic star formation history based on recent progress in searching for Ly$\alpha$-emitting young galaxies beyond red shift 5.

  • In this paper, we investigated the electronic structures and defect states of $SrLaMgTaO_6$ (SLMTO) double perovskite structures by using resonant inelastic x-ray scattering. Recently, $Eu^{3+}$ doped SLMTO red phosphors have been vigorously investigated due to their higher red emission efficiency compared to commercial white light emitting diodes (W-LED). However, a comprehensive understanding on the electronic structures and defect states of host SLMTO compounds, which are specifically related to the W-LED and photoluminescence (PL), is far from complete. Here, we found that the PL spectra of SLMTO powder compounds sintered at a higher temperature, $1400^{\circ}C$, were weaker in the blue emission regions (at around 400 nm) and became enhanced in near infrared (NIR) regions compared to those sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$. To elucidate the difference of the PL spectra, we performed resonant inelastic x-ray spectroscopy (RIXS) at Ta L-edge. Our RIXS result implies that the microscopic origin of different PL spectra is not relevant to the Ta-related defects and oxygen vacancies.

  • This study investigates the color stimuli of two varieties of foliage plants by extracting electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram and physiology activity data from 30 participants in their 50s or older. Changes in the physiological activity of subjects against six color stimuli were examined. The stimulus to real green plants 'Silver Queen' was set as the control group, and was compared with other groups including the stimulus to real 'Angel' plants and four stimuli to artificial colors (two color images and color schemes of the same green and red plants). Compared to the five groups, the relative theta power spectrum (RT) and the ratio of alpha to high beta (RAHB) increased in the subjects exposed to real green plants. This result demonstrates that the green plant ('Silver Queen') increases the stability, relaxation, and internal concentration of subjects in a proper state of awakening. The result of this experiment showed a statistically significant difference in the level of RT when subjects were exposed to the groups of real green and red plants. This finding indicates that the green plant increases internal concentration more than the red plant. RT and the relative low beta power spectrum (RLB) in the groups of natural colors were higher than the groups of artificial colors when subjects focused their mind on the two types of real plants. However, the level of relative mid beta power spectrum (RMB), ratio of SMR to theta (RST), ratio of mid beta to theta (RMT), relative high beta power spectrum (RHB), and spectral edge frequency 95% were higher when subjects were exposed to the photos and colors scheme of plants than when they were exposed to real plants. The subjects experienced more "comfortable" emotions when they were looking at plants with green colors. Overall, it is recommended to use the natural colors of real plants in places where which stability and relaxation are required. On the contrary, the artificial colors of plants such as their photos and color schemes are useful in places where a high level of concentration is required in a short period of time.

  • We introduce the algorithms of 2-D and 3-D position estimation using 2-D vision sensors. The sensors used in this research issue red laser slit light to the body. So, it is very convenient to obtain the coordinates of corner point or edge in sensor coordinate. Since the measured points are normally not fixed in the body coordinate, the additional conditions, that corner lines or edges are straight and fixed in the body coordinate, are used to find out the position and orientation of the body. In the case of 2-D motional body, we can find the solution analytically. But in the case of 3-D motional body, linearization technique and least mean squares method are used because of hard nonlinearity.
