  • This paper offers a method to measure the distribution of niches of two types of social organizations, Internet sites and voluntary organizations, based on the socio-demographic characteristics of their members. It examines the niches of Internet sites based on age and education of site visitors and those of voluntary organizations based on age, education, and occupational prestige of their members. The method to measure organizational niches makes it possible not only to understand the niche width of organizations but also to examine the extent to which organizations potentially compete and coexist. This leads to a method to recognize the way organizational environments influence the performance of individual organizations ecologically.

  • The regulatory recognition, regulatory approval, and observance for employer, inspector, and worker groups were investigated for the Korean measurement system in working environments. The employer, worker, and inspector showed an agreement of 90~97 % for the measurement of working environments. This survey showed that the measurement system of working environments has been settled in Korea. However, this survey showed an agreement of 81~87 % for reporting the results of working environment, involvement of worker representative, improvement of working environment, and holding presentations for working environment measurement. The employer recognized well for the measurement of working environments, involvement of worker representative, improvement of working environment, and holding presentations for working environment measurement, but the employee did not recognize well them as much as the employer did. Thus, the improvements for the recognition for involvement of worker representative, improvement of working environment, and holding presentations for working environment measurement by the employee are needed.

  • In this study, data was collected on the dietary life education at elementary schools according to the Food Education Support Act using elementary school teachers as subjects. A survey was conducted on 258 elementary school teachers at seven elementary schools located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Daegu, Korea from April 14-17, 2010. Most teachers reported that dietary life education was very much needed. The appropriate individuals to teach dietary life education were nutrition teachers, charge teachers, and dietary life education tutors, in that order. The most appropriate time to conduct dietary life education was during dietary life-related subject hours, dietary life education hours, food service hours, and discretionary and extracurricular activities, in that order. The most effective materials and methods used for dietary life education were projection materials and dietary life-related special lectures. Efficient dietary life education methods can be used to develop dietary life education programs. Based on these results, elementary school teachers recognize that dietary life education is very much needed and believe that it would be desirable to conduct dietary life education using nutrition teachers in cooperation with other related teachers.

  • Background: This study aimed to demonstrate the importance to recognize subjective body image on their mental health on adolescents. Methods: We used the chi-square test and the multiple logistic regression model to analyze the data of the "Korean Youth Health Behavior Survey in 2018" (n=42,259) conducted by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Results: As a result of the analysis, suicide ideation increased when the subject body image is thin and fat. Especially, the suicide ideation who recognized the subjective body image as thin is higher (odds ratio [OR], 1.666; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.050-1.295), and who recognized the subjective body image as fat is higher (OR, 1.134; 95% CI, 1.032-1.245) than the group who recognized the subjective body image as normal. Conclusion: When preparing a health policy on adolescent suicide issues, we need to consider the association between subjective body image and suicide ideation.

  • For this study we conducted a survey far elementary students from 3rd to 6th grade. We performed a frequence test using statistic program and the cross-tabs between gender and grade. We then conducted a thorough interview with the students, after constructing several meaningful questions reflecting the results of survey. As a result of this study, it was critical to arrange interesting inquiry activities in order to foster student's preference for science and attract them to get involved in the science class. We found that teachers were needed to be more flexible to make a group during the classes and teachers would succeed to reflect student's characteristics. In addition, it is necessary for the teachers to refrain from excessive advising or immoderate interrupting student's experiment activity. We conclude that only when the improvements in the curriculum for science education should be made, teachers would allow students to recognize its significances by themselves, and let them follow the inquiring process during the laboratory class for themselves.

Based on the result of questionnaire, perceptional differences between these groups toward environmental NGOs were comparatively anaIyzed. The results were classified into following four items; Firstly, numbers of residents who recognize the existences of environmental NGOs in Kyonggi-Do were lower than those who didn't. Secondly, in both groups, more than 80% of respondents acknowledged that residents should be involved in decisions and developments of environmental projects. Thirdly, respondents belonging to both groups overwhelmingly selected the item "being improved" as the answer for the question asking whether NGOs' environmental activities contribute to improve of environmental conditions. This indicated that public officials also acknowledged the positive role of NGOs in environmental issues. Lastly, the answer of "intensive upbringing is necessary" was ranked as the first place for the question asking "necessity of raising environmental NGOs". However, it was hard to tell which opinion was superior in the matter of financial support necessity for NGOs judging from the answers by respondents of public officials.
