The global occurrence of myriad natural disasters and incidents, catalyzed by climate change and extreme meteorological conditions, has engendered substantial human and material losses. International organizations such as the International Charter have established an enduring collaborative framework for real-time coordination to provide high-resolution satellite imagery and geospatial information. These resources are instrumental in the management of large-scale disaster scenarios and the expeditious execution of recovery operations. At the national level, the operational deployment of advanced National Earth Observation Satellites, controlled by National Geographic Information Institute, has not only catalyzed the advancement of geospatial data but has also contributed to the provisioning of damage analysis data for significant domestic and international disaster events. This special edition of the National Disaster Management Research Institute delineates the contemporary landscape of major disaster incidents in the year 2023 and elucidates the strategic blueprint of the government's national disaster safety system reform. Additionally, it encapsulates the most recent research accomplishments in the domains of artificial satellite systems, information and communication technology, and spatial information utilization, which are paramount in the institution's disaster situation management and analysis efforts. Furthermore, the publication encompasses the most recent research findings relevant to data collection, processing, and analysis pertaining to disaster cause and damage extent. These findings are especially pertinent to the institute's on-site investigation initiatives and are informed by cutting-edge technologies, including drone-based mapping and LiDAR observation, as evidenced by a case study involving the 2023 landslide damage resulting from concentrated heavy rainfall.
Recently, development and research of u-City established the ubiquitous environment which can be anytime, anywhere computing or network, has been much highlighted. Thus, current urban facilities should be managed by ubiquitous concept, and monitored location and status information in a real-time manner, and controled if necessary. In order to be establish in the purpose of management, indirect mapping through id-tag is better than facility management directly. For instance, RFID, UCODE, UFID. In this paper, we propose that represent facility object through UOID(Unique Object IDentification). UOID comprises three parts; 1) sensing object, 2) facility object, 3) cell object consists of facilities. and Life cycle management system in UOID, and network system connected with internet is proposed. We wish that proposed UOID and network system mange u-City facilities effectively, and also provide ubiquitous service to the citizen, one of the integrate service of u-City platform.

Floating holograms are technologies that provide rich 3D stereoscopic images in a wide space such as advertisement, concert. In addition, It is possible to reduce the 3D glasses inconvenience, eye strain, and space distortion, and to enjoy 3D images with excellent realism and existence. Therefore, this paper implements a user gesture recognition system for manipulating a floating hologram characters that can be used in a small space devices. The proposed method detects face region using haar feature-based cascade classifier, and recognizes the user gestures using a user gesture-occurred position information that is acquired from the gesture difference image in real time. And Each classified gesture information is mapped to the character motion in floating hologram for manipulating a character action. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed user gesture recognition system for manipulating a floating hologram character, we make the floating hologram display devise, and measures the recognition rate of each gesture repeatedly that includes body shaking, walking, hand shaking, and jumping. As a results, the average recognition rate was 88%.

In this paper, we propose an approach that combines the technological advantages of P2P and cloud computing to support MMOGs that allowing a huge amount of users worldwide to share a real-time virtual environment. The proposed P2P system based on cloud computing can provide a greater level of scalability because their more resources are added to the infrastructure even when the amount of users grows rapidly. This system also relieves a lot of computational power and network traffic, the load on the servers in the cloud by exploiting the capacity of the peers. In this paper, we describe the concept and basic architecture of cloud computing-based P2P Systems for scalability of MMOGs. An efficient and effective provisioning of resources and mapping of load are mandatory to realize this architecture that scales in economical cost and quality of service to large communities of users. Simulation results show that by controlling the amount of cloud and user-provided resource, the proposed P2P system can reduce the bandwidth at the server while utilizing their enough bandwidth when the number of simultaneous users keeps growing.
In this paper, we researched the searching and tracking locations of a home resident using ON/OFF switches and sensors and designed a remote monitoring system. As an implementation environment, this system is developed on the base of the distributed object group framework we have developed from previous works. In order to trace the moving locations of a home resident, we firstly showed a home structure which attaches ON/OFF switches and sensors to home appliances and indoor facilities being fixed in home. Whenever a home resident opens/closes these objects, the signals operated from ON/OFF switches and sensors are sent to a home server system. In this time, the real locations of ON/OFF switches and sensors that the signals are being occurred must be the current location that he/she stays. A home server system provides the functionalities that map the real location of a resident in home to virtual location designed on remote desk-tops or terminals like PDAs, and that construct a healthcare database consisted of moving patterns, moving ranges, momentum for analyzing the given searching locations and times Finally, this system provides these information for remotely monitoring services.

Sound source localization method based on the time delay of arrival(TDOA) is applied to many research fields such as a robot auditory system, teleconferencing and so on. When multi-microphones are utilized to localize the source in 3 dimensional space, the conventional localization methods based on TDOA decide the actual source position using the TDOAs from all microphone arrays and the detection measure, which represents the errors between the actual source position and the estimated ones. Performance of these methods usually depends on the number of microphones because it determines the resolution of an estimated position. In this paper, we proposed the localization method using spatially mapped GCC functions. The proposed method does not use just TDOA for localization such as previous ones but it uses spatially mapped GCC functions which is the cross correlation function mapped by an appropriate mapping function over the spatial coordinate. A number of the spatially mapped GCC functions are summed to a single function over the global coordinate and then the actual source position is determined based on the summed GCC function. Performance of the proposed method for the noise effect and estimation resolution is verified with the real environmental experiment. The mean value of estimation error of the proposed method is much smaller than the one based on the conventional ones and the percentage of correct estimation is improved by 30% when the error bound is ${\pm}20^{\circ}$.

In the present study, we assessed the accuracy of aerial triangulation using a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) capable of network RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) survey in a disaster situation that may occur in a semi-urban area mixed with buildings. For a reliable survey of check points, they were installed on the roofs of buildings, and static GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) survey was conducted for more than four hours. For objective accuracy assessment, coded aerial targets were installed on the check points to be automatically recognized by software. At the instance of image acquisition, the 3D coordinates of the UAV camera were measured using VRS (Virtual Reference Station) method, as a kind of network RTK survey, and the 3-axial angles were achieved using IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) and gimbal rotation measurement. As a result of estimation and update of the interior and exterior orientation parameters using Agisoft Metashape, the 3D RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) of aerial triangulation ranged from 0.153 m to 0.102 m according to the combination of the image overlap and the angle of the image acquisition. To get higher aerial triangulation accuracy, it was proved to be effective to incorporate oblique images, though it is common to increase the overlap of vertical images. Therefore, to conduct a UAV mapping in an urgent disaster site, it is necessary to acquire oblique images together rather than improving image overlap.
In this paper, we propose a reconstruction technique of the lost hair region for 3D human actor modeling. An active depth sensor system can simultaneously capture both color and geometry information of any objects in real-time. However, it cannot acquire some regions whose surfaces are shiny and dark. Therefore, to get a natural 3D human model, the lost region in depth image should be recovered, especially human hair region. The recovery is performed using both color and depth images. We find out the hair region using color image first. After the boundary of hair region is estimated, the inside of hair region is estimated using an interpolation technique and closing operation. A 3D mesh model is generated after performing a series of operations including adaptive sampling, triangulation, mesh smoothing, and texture mapping. The proposed method can generate recovered 3D mesh stream automatically. The final 3D human model allows the user view interaction or haptic interaction in realistic broadcasting system.

In this paper, we propose the architecture of an IPM based lane detector for autonomous vehicles to detect and control the driving route along the curved lane. In the IPM image, we divide the area into two fields, Far/Near Field, and the lane candidate region is detected using the Hough transform to perform the matching for the curved lane. In autonomous vehicles, various algorithms must be embedded in the system. To reduce the system resources, we proposed a method to minimize the number of memory accesses to the image and various parameters on the external memory. The proposed circuit has 96% lane recognition rate and occupies 16% LUT, 5.9% FF and 29% BRAM in Xilinx XC7Z020. It processes Full-HD image at a rate of 42 fps at a 100 MHz operating clock.

Previous studies for routing In USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Networks) appear to be unreliable due to the dependence on non-spatial data and the lack of map overlay analysis. Multiple spatial parameters and radio propagation modeling techniques were integrated to derive RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) value between route nodes and produce a highly reliable path map. It was possible to identify area-wide patterns of USN route subject to many different Influences (e.g. the specific effects of radio blocking factors such as the visible area, road area, cell duplicated area, and building density), which cannot be acquired by traditional non-spatial modeling. The quantitative evidence concerning the USN route for individual cell as well as entire study area would be utilized as major tools to visualize paths in real-time and to select alternative path when failure or audition of route node occurs.
