A Demonstrative Study on an Improvement Scheme for a Cooking Technician Screening System (조리기능사자격제도 개선방안에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This study aimed at drawing a scheme for more developmental and rational improvement of the screening examination system to cope with the rapidly changing industrial environment positively, enhance the food service industry qualitatively, and reinforce engaged specialty of those engaged in the industry. To set a rational improvement scheme for a cook screening system, the study conducted a prior study on job analysis of those engaged in cooking, a review on relevant laws, and a theoretical research on those problems in the current cook screening examination system. On this basis, it understood the actual condition of the current cook screening system and implemented a demonstrative analysis through a survey to draw a section on a future improvement scheme. The results were analyzed largely from two viewpoints: the general condition of the cook screening system and the future improvement scheme for the system.

Teachers' understanding of the definition of rational exponent (유리수 지수 정의에 대한 교사 이해 분석)

  • The aim of this study was to deduce implications of the growth of mathematics teachers' specialty for effective instruction about the formulae of exponentiation with rational exponents by analyzing teachers' understanding of the definition of rational exponent. In order to accomplish the aim, this study ascertained the nature of the definition of rational exponent through examining previous literature and established specific research questions with reference to the results of the examination. A questionnaire regarding the nature of the definition was developed in order to solve the questions and was taken to 50 in-service high school teachers. By analysing the data from the written responses by the teachers, this study delineated four characteristics of the teachers' understanding with regard to the definition of rational exponent. Firstly, the teachers did not explicitly use the condition of the bases with rational exponents while proving f'(x)=rxr-1. Secondly, few teachers explained the reason why the bases with rational exponents must be positive. Thirdly, there were some teachers who misunderstood the formulae of exponentiation with rational exponents. Lastly, the majority of teachers thought that $(-8)^{\frac{1}{3}}$ equals to -2. Additionally, several issues were discussed related to teacher education for enhancing teachers' knowledge about the definition, features of effective instruction on the formulae of exponentiation and improvement points to explanation methods about the definition and formulae on the current high school textbooks.

  • Causes of the levee collapse are directly or indirectly associated with geotechnical engineering as well as hydraulics. In this paper, literature survey and analysis were conducted to present the alternatives in geotechnical engineering issues for rational levee design. The alternatives include the reasonable river-bed soil utilization and precautions of numerical analysis and slope stability analysis, disruption type and improvement method of drainage facility.

  • Creeks, defined by creek's improvement law, have strong localities in the flow characteristics and environmental condition. During the recent ten-years, lots of flood damages have occurred rather in the creeks. However, quantity and stream design information are poor while the national-class and local-class streams have sufficient. This causes a problem on improving the safety from flood. This study focuses on assessment of practical applicability for design flood estimation models. For this, Rational formula, Clark's model and Nakayath synthetic unit hydrograph method are estimated by data of the creek comprehensive improvement plan report, etc.

Development of the Accuracy Improvement Algorithm of Geopositioning of High Resolution Satellite Imagery based on RF Models (고해상도 위성영상의 RF모델 기반 지상위치의 정확도 개선 알고리즘 개발)

  • Satellite imagery with high resolution of about one meter is used widely in commerce and government applications ranging from earth observation and monitoring to national digital mapping. Due to the expensiveness of IKONOS Pro and Precision products, it is attractive to use the low-cost IKONOS Geo product with vendor-provided rational polynomial coefficients (RPCs), to produce highly accurate mapping products. The imaging geometry of IKONOS high-resolution imagery is described by RFs instead of rigorous sensor models. This paper presents four different polynomial models, that are the offset model, the scale and offset model, the Affine model, and the 2nd-order polynomial model, defined respectively in object space and image space to improve the accuracies of the RF-derived ground coordinates. Not only the algorithm for RF-based ground coordinates but also the algorithm for accuracy improvement of RF-based ground coordinates are developed which is based on the four models, The experiment also evaluates the effect of different cartographic parameters such as the number, configuration, and accuracy of ground control points on the accuracy of geopositioning. As the result of a experimental application, the root mean square errors of three dimensional ground coordinates which are first derived by vendor-provided Rational Function models were averagely 8.035m in X, 10.020m in Y and 13.318m in Z direction. After applying polynomial correction algorithm, those errors were dramatically decreased to averagely 2.791m in X, 2.520m in Y and 1.441m in Z. That is, accuracy was greatly improved by 65% in planmetry and 89% in vertical direction.

  • Along with the changing times, organizational culture is also rapidly changing, and such organizational culture enables companies to secure discriminatory competitive advantage in the mid-to long-term perspective. This study aims to examine the impact of organizational culture on improving competitive advantage of enterprises by dividing organizational culture into three dimensions: development culture, rational culture, and consensus culture. To this end, a survey was conducted on small and medium-sized companies. As a whole, the rational culture, which is task-oriented and puts competition as a motivating factor, was more strongly prevalent than other organizational cultures, and in order of development culture, rational culture, and consensus culture, it affects the improvement of competitive advantage. This means that development culture and rational culture, which emphasize high-tech and productivity, are more important to improve the competitive advantage of small and medium-sized companies. In addition, the analysis of differences according to the size of employees showed that rational culture was important when the size of employees was small, but the larger the size of employees, the more important the development culture was to improve the competitive advantage of companies. Through this study, we were able to understand what organizational culture should be emphasized according to the size of small and medium enterprises.

  • In this study, we formulated rational criteria to efficiently provide traffic information services via a crafted approach. By utilizing this, we presented a detailed traffic information service providing method that can overcome the limitations of existing link unit information provision system. Three methodologies such as user survey, data mining, and KHCM (Korea Highway Capacity Manual) utilization method were applied to formulate a rational expression standard for traffic information service. Each method was designed to establish a quantitative criterion for various traffic conditions and to enable user-oriented traffic information service in consideration of the traffic principal/compatibility. Considering the results of each methodological analysis in a comprehensive manner, the basic expression standards for traffic information service was formulated. Then we presented improvements such as traffic condition step by road, speed range of traffic condition, expression term of traffic condition and so on. In order to complement the problems of the information provision system of the existing link unit based on the derived improvement criterion, we presented the detailed traffic information service provision method by using the traffic speed data of the second order. And we applied this to the two links of Daegu city. The method presented in this research can improve the quality of traffic information service. Not only it can be used for various fields such as optimal route search, traffic safety service and so on.
