산업차량용 토크컨버터의 작동 안정성 평가 방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation Method of the Operation Stability of a Torque Converter Mounted on Industrial Vehicle)

  • This paper presents the induced mathematical modeling equations for evaluating the operation stability with automatic transmission of heavy duty vehicle. This theoretical approach indicates that linearized governing equations of system can be converted into eigen-value problems. if the eigen-value has positive number, we can predict the engine operating point locates an unstable operating region. To be a stable state, the unstable operating point diverges toward a stable point which is able to maintain uniform velocity. Based on the previous theoretical analysis, we carry out dynamic simulation to show the behavior of engine operating point and torque converter in transient state. As a result of the dynamic simulation, the suggested theoretical method is found to be reasonable for evaluating the operation stability of a torque converter. In addition, the numerical results explain the engine stops and fluctuating phenomenon in reality.

  • The world largest 21.3" LTPS LCD has been successfully developed using SLS crystallization technology. Integration of gate circuit, transmission gate and level shifter was successfully performed in a large area display. Uniform and high performance of high quality grains of SLS technology make it possible to realize a uniform large size LTPS TFT-LCD with half the number of data driver IC's that is typically used in a-Si LCD. High aperture ratio of 65 % was achieved using an organic inter insulating method which lead to a high brightness of 500 cd/$cm^2$.

공간계층형 영상부호화에서 상위계층 영상간 부호화율 배분방법 (Bitrate Allocation Method among Sources of Higher Layer for Spatial Scalable Video Coding)

  • 본 논문에서는 서로 다른 공간해상도를 갖는 두계층 영상 신호원의 다수개가 부호화되고 다중화되는 시스템에서 하위계층 영상들에는 일정부호화율로 부호화율을 제한하고, 반면에 상위계층 영상들에는 서로간 균등한 화질을 제공해 주는 대역할당 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해서 MPEG-2 공간계층적 부호화구조에서 근사화된 부호화율-왜곡의 관계를 찾고, 모델을 이용하여 실시간 구현을 위해 상위계층 영상 사이에 일정한 왜곡 비율을 갖도록 부호화율을 할당한다. 모의실험 결과로부터 상위계층 영상간에 거의 비슷한 수준의 화질이 유지됨을 보인다.

Au/Cu, Au/Ag 합금 나노 미립자의 합성과 광학적 성질 (Synthesis and Optical Property of Au/Cu, Au/Ag Alloy Nanocluster)

  • 유기용매인 클로로포름 매질에서 소수성의 합금 나노 미립자를 만드는 새로운 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 소수성 합금 나노 미립자들은 계면활성제(sodium bis(2-ethyl hexyl)-sulfosuccinate, NaAOT)를 포함한 클로로포름 용액에 금속염 즉, $HAuCl_4,\AgNO_3,\Cu(NO_3)_2$을 사용하여 합금의 조성을 조절하여 혼합한 후 sodium borohydride $(NaBH_4)$로 환원시켜 합성하였다. Au/Ag, Au/Cu 합금 나노 미립자의 조성은 1:3, 1:1, 3:1의 몰비로 변화시키면서 합성하였다. UV/Visible, TEM, XPS를 사용하여 합금 나노 미립자의 특성을 측정하였다. Au/Cu 합금 나노 미립자의 표면 공명 흡수는 순수한 금인 경우의 최대흡수 파장인 520 nm에서 순수한 구리의 표면 공명 흡수인 570 nm까지 선형적으로 변하였고, Au/Ag 합금 나노 미립자는 순수한 은의 최대흡수 파장인 405 nm에서 순수한 금의 경우인 520 nm까지 선형적으로 변하였다. 합금 나노 미립자의 Au4f, Ag3d, Cu2p 전자의 구속 에너지는 합금의 조성 비율에 따라 달라지게 된다. 합성된 합금 나노 미립자들은 매우 균일하고 장시간 안정한 분산상태를 유지하였다. 이러한 결과로부터 본 연구에서 사용한 방법은 소수성의 합금 나노 미립자를 합성하는데 매우 효과적인 방법이라고 사료된다.

Evaluation of nuclear material accountability by the probability of detection for loss of Pu (LOPu) scenarios in pyroprocessing

  • A new methodology to analyze the nuclear material accountability for pyroprocessing system is developed. The $Pu-to-^{244}Cm$ ratio quantification is one of the methods for Pu accountancy in pyroprocessing. However, an uncertainty in the $Pu-to-^{244}Cm$ ratio due to the non-uniform composition in used fuel assemblies can affect the accountancy of Pu. A random variable, LOPu, is developed to analyze the probability of detection for Pu diversion of hypothetical scenarios at a pyroprocessing facility considering the uncertainty in $Pu-to-^{244}Cm$ ratio estimation. The analysis is carried out by the hypothesis testing and the event tree method. The probability of detection for diversion of 8 kg Pu is found to be less than 95% if a large size granule consisting of small size particles gets sampled for measurements. To increase the probability of detection more than 95%, first, a new Material Balance Area (MBA) structure consisting of more number of Key Measurement Points (KMPs) is designed. This multiple KMP-measurement for the MBA shows the probability of detection for 8 kg Pu diversion is greater than 96%. Increasing the granule sample number from one to ten also shows the probability of detection is greater than 95% in the most ranges for granule and powder sizes.

Nonlinear finite element solutions of thermoelastic flexural strength and stress values of temperature dependent graded CNT-reinforced sandwich shallow shell structure

  • This research article reported the nonlinear finite solutions of the nonlinear flexural strength and stress behaviour of nano sandwich graded structural shell panel under the combined thermomechanical loading. The nanotube sandwich structural model is derived mathematically using the higher-order displacement polynomial including the full geometrical nonlinear strain-displacement equations via Green-Lagrange relations. The face sheets of the sandwich panel are assumed to be carbon nanotube-reinforced polymer composite with temperature dependent material properties. Additionally, the numerical model included different types of nanotube distribution patterns for the sandwich face sheets for the sake of variable strength. The required equilibrium equation of the graded carbon nanotube sandwich structural panel is derived by minimizing the total potential energy expression. The energy expression is further solved to obtain the deflection values (linear and nonlinear) via the direct iterative method in conjunction with finite element steps. A computer code is prepared (MATLAB environment) based on the current higher-order nonlinear model for the numerical analysis purpose. The stability of the numerical solution and the validity are verified by comparing the published deflection and stress values. Finally, the nonlinear model is utilized to explore the deflection and the stresses of the nanotube-reinforced (volume fraction and distribution patterns of carbon nanotube) sandwich structure (different core to face thickness ratios) for the variable type of structural parameter (thickness ratio, aspect ratio, geometrical configurations, constraints at the edges and curvature ratio) and unlike temperature loading.

아세틸렌 불꽃에 의한 다이아몬드 합성 (Diamond Synthesis by Acetylen Flame)

  • Uniform diamond films in a few $\textrm{mm}^2$ size and locally isolated diamond single crystals in size of 60 $\mu\textrm{m}$ were synthesized on Si-wafer and Al2O3 substrate by the method of acetylene flame. The effects of substrate temperature and flow ratio of oxygen to acetylene on the morphology of deposited diamond were investigated. According to the observations of growth behavior of diamond on Si substrate with respect to substrate surface pretreatment and flow ratio, it was shown that well faceted diamonds could grow uniformly when flow ratio was above 0.9 and substrates were densely scratched. With increasing substrates temperature, the crystal morphology changes from octahedron bounded by only {111} plane below 850$^{\circ}C$ to cubo-octahedron with almost equal development of {111} and {100} plane in the temperature range of 850∼950$^{\circ}C$. Between 950∼1050$^{\circ}C$, the {111} faces become rough and concave. Above 1050$^{\circ}C$, new crystallites begin to grow on concave {111} surface and overall morphology looks like cubo-octahedron with degenerated {111} faces. These changes of morphology can be understood in terms of the different growth mode of each crystallographic plane with respect to the substrate temperature and supersaturation. And the observed phenomena on {111} planes can be related to the face instability and twin generation.

볼밀링에서 볼 배합비 선택을 위한 혼합물 실험계획 및 분석 (Design and Analysis of Mixture Experiments for Ball Mix Selection in the Ball Milling)

  • Purpose: Ball milling is a popular process for obtaining fine powders in the part and material industry. One of important issues in the ball milling is to produce particles with a uniform size. Although many factors affect uniformity of particles, this paper focuses on the choice of ball diameter. Consider a ball milling where balls can be taken with three different diameters. The purpose of this paper is to find a ball mix which minimizes the average particle size. Methods: Ball diameters are selected as 10mm, 3mm, and 0.5mm. In order to find an optimum mixing ratio, the method of mixture experiments is employed in this paper. Taguchi's signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for smaller-the-better type is also used to analyze experimental data. Results: According to the experimental result, SNR is maximized when the ball mix is taken as either 7:3:0 or 6:4:0. Such mixing ratios can be technically validated in terms of porosity reduction. Conclusion: The ball mixing technique presented in this paper provides a useful way to improve the production efficiency with a low cost.

회전(回轉) SHELL의 좌굴(挫屈) 해석(解析) (The Buckling Analysis of Shells of Revolution)

  • An extension of the finite element method to the stability analysis of shells of revolution under static axisymmetric loading is presented in this paper. A systematic procedure for the formulation of the problem is based upon the principle of virtual work. This procedure results in an eigenvalue problem. For solution, the shell of revolution is discretized into a series of conical frusta. The buckling mode in the circumferential direction is assumed, this assumption makes the problem economical for the computing time. The present method is applied to a number of shells of revolution, under axial compression or lateral pressure, and comparision are made with other theoretical results. The results show good agreement each other. The effects of aspect ratio, boundary conditions and buckling modes on the buckling strength of shells of revolution are studied. Also the optimum shape of cylindrical shell under uniform axial compression is obtained from the view point of structural stability.
