고속철도 교량의 속도별 주행시험을 통한 교량/열차 상호작용해석의 검증 (Verification Study of Train/Bridge Interaction Analysis through Field Tests of a High Speed Railway Bridge)

  • The dynamic behavior of a bridge under moving loads has been investigated over many years. Especially, with the introduction of High Speed Railway, numerous theoretical studies on the interaction problem between bridges and trains are carried out. In the present study, advanced bridge/train interaction analyses are performed and compared with field tests of a simply-supported 40m long PSC box girder bridge of Kyung-Bu High Speed Railway. Vertical displacements and vertical accelerations of a bridge with increasing speeds are analyzed. In addition, wheel load reduction rates and accelerations of a car-body of the train are investigated for a study of appropriateness of traffic safety criteria of bridge design specification.

Nondestructive Evaluation of Railway Bridge by System Identification Using Field Vibration Measurement

  • This paper presents a nondestructive evaluation approach for system identification (SID) of real railway bridges using field vibration test results. First, a multi-phase SID scheme designed on the basis of eigenvalue sensitivity concept is presented. Next, the proposed multi-phase approach is evaluated from field vibration tests on a real railway bridge (Wondongcheon bridge) located in Yangsan, Korea. On the steel girder bridge, a few natural frequencies and mode shapes are experimentally measured under the ambient vibration condition. The corresponding modal parameters are numerically calculated from a three-dimensional finite element (FE) model established for the target bridge. Eigenvalue sensitivities are analyzed for potential model-updating parameters of the FE model. Then, structural subsystems are identified phase-by-phase using the proposed model-updating procedure. Based on model-updating results, a baseline model and a nondestructive evaluation of test bridge are identified.

  • The local loosening of ballast supporting railway tract cause a differential vertical tract settlement. In the bridge, the temperature change make bridge deck to contract and expand, and this movement cause local loosening of ballast on the bridge expansion joint. Therefore, the evaluation of the status of ballast on the bridge expansion joint is important for the track maintenance of the high-speed railway. In this paper, hwaw method was applied to evaluate the status of ballast on the bridge expansion joint. HWAW method is non-destructive test to evaluate 2-D shear wave velocity map along the railway. Shear wave velocity is directly related with status of ballast. In this research, hwaw method was applied two different types of bridges and determine the degree and the range of the ballast loosening caused by movement of the bridge expansion joint.

  • A study on the effects of a high-speed railway bridge vibration induced by moving train on the nearby bridge is performed. Longitudinal and lateral accelerations of slabs and piers which are calculated from moving load analysis of a high-speed railway bridge can be used as input ground motions for the adjacent bridge. Dynamic responses of the adjacent bridge considering soil-structure interaction effects are analyzed by sub-structure method. Analysis procedure is made of free field analysis, calculation of impedance and effective input load and soil-structure system analysis.

  • 일반철도 및 고속철도를 포함한 철도교량의 상부구조로 현재 우리나라에서 주로 사용되고 있는 교량형식은 크게 박스 거더교와 I형 거더교로 구분된다. 박스 거더교는 동적 거동에 패한 안전성이 우수하기 때문에 주로 고속철도 교량으로 많이 사용된다. 1형 거더교는 일반철도 교량으로 주로 사용되며, 일반 PSC 거더교 형태와 철골 철근콘크리트로 합성화된 구조인 프리플렉스 거더교의 형태로 크게 구분되고 또한 새로운 형식도 지속적으로 개발 되고 있는 추세에 있다. 본 연구에서는 현행 철도교설계기준에 의거하여 각 형석별로 경간장에 따라 거더 설계를 실시하여 적절한 형고를 분석하며, 개략적인 교량가설 공사비를 산출하여 사용 경간장에 따른 구조적 효율성 및 경제성을 비교분석하였다. 이에 따른 비교분석을 수행한 결과, 구조적 효율성의 측면에서는 프리플렉스 거더교 형태의 교량이 경간장에 따른 형고는 가장 갖은 것으로 나타났으며, 가설 공사비의 측면에서는 일반 PSC 거더교 형태의 교량이 가장 경제적인 것으로 평가되었다.

진동사용성을 고려한 철도교량구조물의 강성한계 분석 (Estimation of Stiffness Limit for Railway Bridge Vibration Serviceability)

  • 일반적으로 허용처짐 기준은 정적 사용성과 구조적안전성에 그 기반을 두고 있으며 진동사용성에 대한 고려는 부족하다. 따라서 진동사용성을 고려할 수 있는 교량의 허용처짐 기준이 필요하다고 판단된다. 본 논문에서는, 한국철도교설계기준의 허용처짐기준을 주파수영역의 진동사용성 기준과 비교하였으며, 프랑스 및 일본의 철도교설계기준의 진동사용성 허용기준 또한 분석하였다. 그 결과, 한국철도교설계기준의 경우 열차의 속도에 따른 기준으로 진동지속시간이 부분적으로 고려되었지만 진동사용성은 만족하지 못하고 있는 것으로 판단되었으며, 국외 철도교설계기준비 분석결과, 진동사용성을 고려한 허용처짐기준을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 판단하였다. 공용중인 철도교량의 진동사용성을 평가하기위하여 다양한 형식의 철도교량의 진동신호를 측정하였다. 그리고, 현장에서 적용하기 편리한 진동사용성 처짐 및 강성한계를 제시하기 위하여 공용중인 교량을 대상으로 차량 교량 상호작용해석을 수행하였다.

교량상 레일 조건에 따른 레일 및 교량의 안전성 연구 (A study of the rail and bridge stability according to rail conditions on the bridge)

  • In railway bridges, various loads including train load, transverse load and braking force are applied to continuous CWR or semi-continuous longer rail located on non-continuous bridge superstructures. The rail-girder interaction due to thermal expansion is also very complex in railway bridges because the thermal characteristics for each of the rails and girder are quite different. Recently, the bridge retrofits for seismic loads were performed on bridges not designed for these loads. These retrofits may however have limitations with respect to rail-girder interactions because, in general these retrofits address issues related only to seismic loads. In this study of seismic evaluations for railway bridges, the load effects on the bridge rails from the road beds through the continuous rails shall be considered. Practical methods will be proposed which will increase the railway stability. For this, rail-girder interaction analyses due to train loads, temperature changes and seismic loads were performed and the results reviewed from a practical point of view.

열차의 주행속도와 차체연직가속도의 상관관계를 고려한 철도교량의 진동사용성 처짐 한계 (Deflection Limit based on Vibration Serviceability of Railway Bridges Considering the Correlation between Train Speed and Vertical Acceleration on Coach)

  • 철도교량을 주행하는 열차의 진동사용성 확보를 위해 Eurocode, 신간선기준, 호남고속철도 설계지침 등에서는 교량의 처짐과 차체연직가속도로 진동사용성 기준을 제시하고 있다. 호남고속철도 설계지침 경우 Eurocode를 인용하였기 때문에 향후 열차의 주행속도와 경간길이의 향상 및 확장에 맞추어 철도교량의 진동사용성 기준을 보완함에 있어 철도선진국들에 비해 상대적으로 뒤처질 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 고속철도교량 기술의 국외의존도를 줄이고 기술경쟁력을 확보하기 위하여 주행속도의 증가와 열차-교량 진동전달특성 등을 고려할 수 있는 철도교량의 진동사용성 허용처짐을 제시하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 본 논문에서는 매개변수 연구와 열차-교량 상호작용해석을 수행하여 주행속도의 증가에 따른 차체연직가속도와 교량변위의 상관관계를 파악하였으며 주행속도의 증가와 더불어 차체연직가속도가 증가하는 경향을 확인하고 가속도증폭계수를 제안하였다. 그리고 교량의 처짐형상과 진동을 정현파와 조화운동으로 가정하고 진동전달함수와 가속도증폭계수를 이용하여 고속철도교량의 진동사용성 허용처짐을 수식으로 전개하였다.

수평재하시험을 이용한 철도교 기초의 P-y 곡선에 관한 연구 (Back-Calculated P-y curves from Lateral Load Tests for Railway Bridge Foundation)

  • A significantly larger lateral load and moment are applied on a high speed railway bridge foundation than other bridge foundations. Therefore most of bridge foundations on Honam high speed railway project were designed by high strength steel pipe piles to resist lateral load and moment, which caused the increase of construction costs. In order to perform optimum design, it is important to estimate accurate lateral resistance when designing this type of structure. Lateral load tests were carried out based on the field design data with the purpose of examining the lateral behavioral characteristics of a railway bridge foundation. The standard load test method(ASTM D 3966) was used for field tests by applying twice of design load. Total four load tests were performed on high speed railway bridge foundations with strain gages installed by every 1m along piles to measure load-resistance characteristics under applied lateral loads. The back-calculated P-y curves from strain gages were compared with estimated P-y curves using theoretical methods based on geotechnical investment data. Back-calculated P-y curves from field tests for sand and clay ground conditions were presented in this paper, which are different from theoretical P-y curves. By using the research results of this study, more accurate estimations of pile design under lateral loads can be available for similar geotechnical conditions.

An improved algorithm in railway truss bridge optimization under stress, displacement and buckling constraints imposed on moving load

  • Railway truss bridges are amongst the essential structures in railway transportation. Minimization of the construction and maintenance costs of these trusses can effectively reduce investments in railway industries. In case of railway bridges, due to high ratio of the live load to the dead load, the moving load has considerable influence on the bridge dynamics. In this paper, optimization of the railway truss bridges under moving load is taken into consideration. The appropriate algorithm namely Hyper-sphere algorithm is used for this multifaceted problem. Through optimization the efficiency of the method successfully raised about 5 percent, compared with similar algorithms. The proposed optimization carried out on several typical railway trusses. The influences of buckling, deformation constraints, and the optimum height of each type of truss, assessed using a simple approximation method.
