저고도 방공 레이더 최적 배치에 관한 연구 (Study on the Optimal Location of Low Altitude Air Defense Radar)

  • As observed in the recent war, suppression of enemy air defense operation is one of the major tactics, simultaneously conducted with high payoff target. Specifically, our air defense operation should be properly constructed, since the operating environment of our forces mostly consists with mountainous terrain, which makes detections of the enemy difficult. The effective arrangements of low altitude air defense radars can be suggested as a way of improving the detection capability of our forces. In this paper, we consider the location problem of low altitude air defense radar, and formulate it as an Integer Programming. Specifically, we surveyed the previous researches on facility location problems and applied two particularly relevant models(MCLP, MEXCLP) to our problem. The terrain factor was represented as demand points in the models. We verified the optimal radar locations for operational situations through simulation model which depicts simple battle field. In the simulation model, the performance of optimal radar locations are measured by the enemy detection rate. With a series of experiments, we may conclude that when locating low altitude air defense radars, it is important to consider the detection probability of radar. We expect that this finding may be helpful to make a more effective air defense plan.

  • 위상배열레이더를 이용한 추적의 성능을 지수화하기 위해서 각도예측 오차공분산행렬의 함수를 이용한 정량화 방법에 대해 검토하였다. 특히, 이 오차공분산행렬의 함수로 최대고유값과 대각합을 이용하여 정량화하는 경우에 대해 안테나 빔조향 손실을 반영한 표적탐지확률을 기준으로 정량화의 일관성을 수치실험을 통해 검토하였다. 이를 통해 추적성능을 표적탐지확률로 기준하는 경우, 대각합이 최대고유값 보다 더 일관성을 갖는 정량화 함수임을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 지뢰탐지용 48채널 배열 UWB 임펄스 레이다 방식의 지면투과레이다 구현과 시험에 대해 기술한다. 지면투과레이더는 기존 금속탐지기의 한계인 비금속 지뢰 탐지의 어려움과 매질 내 금속 성분에 의해 발생하는 높은 오경보 문제점을 극복한다. 본 논문에서는 펄스폭이 600ps 급인 미세한 모노싸이클(Monocycle) 펄스 파형을 사용해, 높은 해상도의 지뢰 전자파 영상을 제공토록 시스템을 구현한다. 특히 신호처리를 통해 지뢰가 매설된 지점을 자동으로 추정하고, 해당 지점에서의 분할된 상세 지뢰 전자파 영상을 사용자에게 제공한다. 기준 성능 분석을 위해 한국 대표 토양인 거친 사양토를 사용한 실내 시험장을 구축하고, 시험장 내의 자동화된 측정 플랫폼에 구현한 레이다를 장착하여 영상 획득 및 탐지심도 분석 등의 시험을 수행한다. 지뢰는 비무장 지대에 매설된 지뢰와 동일한 형태의 모형 지뢰를 사용한다.

TWS 레이더 추적을 위한 가중 점수 기반 추적 초기화 알고리즘 연구 (Track Initiation Algorithm Based on Weighted Score for TWS Radar Tracking)

  • In this paper, we propose the track initiation algorithm based on the weighted score for TWS radar tracking. This algorithm utilizes radar velocity information to calculate the probabilistic track score and applies the Non-Maximum-Suppression(NMS) to confirm the targets to track. This approach is understood as a modification of a conventional track initiation algorithm in a probabilistic manner. Also, we additionally apply the weighted Hough transform to compensate a measurement error, and it helps to improve the track detection probability. We designed the simulator in order to demonstrate the performance of the proposed track initiation algorithm. The simulation result show that the proposed algorithm, which reduces about 40 % of a false track probability, is better than the conventional algorithm.

  • More and more problems for public security have occurred due to the limited solutions for drone detection especially for micro-drone in long range conditions. This paper aims at dealing with drones detection using a radar system. The radio frequency (RF) signals emitted by a controller can be acquired using the radar, which are usually too weak to extract. To detect the drone successfully, the static clutters and linear trend terms are suppressed based on the background estimation algorithm and linear trend suppression. The principal component analysis technique is used to classify the noises and effective RF signals. The automatic gain control technique is used to enhance the signal to noise ratios (SNR) of RF signals. Meanwhile, the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) based wavelet transform (WT) is developed to decrease the influences of the Gaussian white noises. Then, both the azimuth information between the drone and radar and the bandwidth of the RF signals are acquired based on the statistical analysis algorithm developed in this paper. Meanwhile, the proposed accumulation algorithm can also provide the bandwidth estimation, which can be used to make a decision accurately whether there are drones or not in the detection environments based on the probability theory. The detection performance is validated with several experiments conducted outdoors with strong interferences.

  • The naval unmanned surface vehicle (USV) conducts the surveillance operations, based on the mission plan set by the user. For setting the mission planning, the user needs to analyze the suitability of the operation for the mission planning. In this paper, we proposed a simulation program that estimates the probability of detecting targets of the mission planning in the analysis. In the simulation analysis, we design the USV's maneuvering characteristics, radar detection operational performance equipped on the USV, and targets infiltrating into surveillance area in the simulation experiment scenario. Based on the simulation results, we evaluated the mission planning suitability and find a mission planning solution recursively.

  • 오늘날 FMCW 레이더 시스템은 차량의 능동 안전 시스템에 널리 활용되어지고 있다. 레이더 시스템에서 탐지확률을 높이고 오경보율을 줄이기 위해서는 정지타겟을 포함한 클러터 성분을 제거하고 관심 있는 이동타겟을 효과적으로 탐지하기 위한 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이동타겟 탐지 및 클러터 제거 알고리즘을 제안한다. 먼저 제안된 이동타겟 비트주파수 검출 필터를 이용하여 클러터를 제거한다. 검출된 이동타겟 비트주파수들을 이용하여 데이터-결합 한 후, 제로-도플러 제거 알고리즘을 이용하여 남아있는 클러터를 제거한다. 이 알고리즘을 검증하기 위해 실제 FMCW 레이더를 이용하여 도로 상에서 실험하였다.

  • Survivability assessments and vulnerability reductions are required in warship design. A warship's survivability is assessed by its susceptibility, vulnerability, and recoverability. In this paper, an integrated survivability assessment for a warship subjected to multiple hits is introduced. The methodology aims at integrating a survivability assessment into an early stage of warship design. The hull surface is idealized using typical geometries for RCS (Radar Cross Section) detection probability and susceptibility. The Vulnerability is evaluated by using the shot-line. The recoverability is estimated using a survival time analysis. This enables the variation of survivability to be assessed. Several parameters may be varied to determine their effects on the survivability. The susceptibility is assessed by the probability of detecting the radar cross section of the subject and the probability of being hit based on a probability density function. The vulnerability is assessed by the kill probability based on the vulnerable area of critical components, according to the component's layout and redundancy. Recoverability is assessed by the recovery time for damaged critical components.

Weibull 분포 레이더 클러터의 근사적 모델링 기법 (Approximated Modeling Technique of Weibull Distributed Radar Clutter)

  • 클러터는 레이더로 수신되는 불필요한 신호로 표적 탐지에 영향을 준다. 레이더 클러터는 진폭 분포, 주파수 스펙트럼 등과 같은 특성으로 정의되며, 이러한 특성을 충분히 고려하여 클러터 모델링 및 신호 생성이 되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 클러터의 모델링에 광범위하게 사용되는 Weibull 분포 함수를 균일 분포 함수를 이용하여 단순화한 근사적 모델링 기법에 대하여 제안한다. 제안된 Weibull 분포 함수 근사 해에 의해 발생된 데이터가 원 Weibull 확률 밀도 함수를 만족하며, 생성 시간은 약 20 % 감소함을 실험 결과를 통하여 입증한다.

소형 무인기 탐지를 위한 패시브 레이더망 최적 배치 연구 (Study on the Optimal Deployment of the Passive Radar System for Detecting Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)

  • Current low-altitude radar system often fails to detect small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) because of their small radar cross section (RCS) compared with larger targets. As a potential alternative, a passive bistatic radar system has been considered. We study an optimal deployment problem for the passive bistatic radar system. We model this problem as a covering problem, and develop an integer programming model. The objective of the model is to maximize coverage of a passive bistatic radar system. Our model takes into account factors specific to a bistatic radar system, including bistatic RCS and transmitter-receiver pair coverage. Considering bistatic RCS instead of constant RCS is important because the slight difference of RCS value for small UAVs could significantly influence the detection probability. The paired radar coverage is defined by using the concept of gradual coverage and cooperative coverage to represent a realistic environment.
