A Study on the Application of RFID to Teaching-Learning in u-Learning Environment (u-러닝 환경에서 RFID의 교수-학습 적용에 관한 연구)

  • With the advent of ubiquitous society, the paradigm of education is also changing. In u-learning in ubiquitous environment, mobile devices such as cellular phone, PDA, PMP, UMPC and TPC will become important learning tools. Particularly if RFID, a key technology in ubiquitous society, is utilized in teaching-learning along with mobile devices, we can expect much more meaningful learning. The present study proposed four types of application of RFID to teaching.learning, which were RFID-card, RFID-book, RFID-label and RFID-test, and examined their possibility and effectiveness. According to the results of this study, technology was insufficient to support the application of RFID-label to teaching-learning and continuous research was required for modeling the application of RFID to teaching-learning.

  • Various kinds of studies for building up U-Korea are now underway. Especially, RFID comes into the spotlight as a core technology of Ubiquitous. Though, the development of higher levels of application is far behind the hardware-based technology in RFID application system. For that reason, In this paper suggests technology using RFID on Ubiquitous and embodies the effective health care application which is one of the application services of user-centered environment It realizes the system which enables us to manage and send data about changing prescriptions and locations of patients effectively under the basis of RFID tag and mobile devices. It also provides the high quality of practical effectiveness of entire system throughout the realization of applications of application server and mobile device. on the basis of framework for providing the various kinds of services and physical elements.

  • This study is designed to find out what kinds of factors influence the application of RFID system to the library. This study is followed by theoretically reviewing the RFID and the application RFID system to the library. Theoretical study models are developed by expanding the social influence, perceived risk, job relevance, support, and self-efficacy after Based on Technology Acceptance Model that provides useful theoretical foundations for setting the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and intention of application to the library of RFID system as the core of a study model. The affecting factors of application of the RFID system to the library are presented by empirically studying this study model.

  • RFID is issued as a core technology for Ubiquitous environment recently. Especially, Mobile RFID which is converged with RFID and wireless internet, provides new services to users, increased added-value to service providers. For commercial service of Mobile RFID, it needs an accounting service. The Diameter Base Protocol, mostly used for authentication, authorization, and accounting service, supports only deferred accounting service. For more variable accounting policy, Diameter Credit-Control Application which is capable of prepayment accounting, also should be considered. In this paper, a new accounting model with Diameter Credit-Control Application for Mobile RFID service is proposed.

  • With the recent rapid growth of RFID technologies, the Application of RFID systems into the medical or the military industries as well as into the distribution and logistics industry are now attempted continuously. The government and private sectors plan to carry out various small and large scale projects related to RFID systems. However, many companies attempting to apply RFID systems applications into their organizations are encountering many several difficulties because of the lack of installation experience and the absence of an useful guideline. This paper focuses on identification and classification of typical barriers to the successful application of RFID systems according to the five-step method of system application process. Moreover a "barrier map" is produced by conducting a survey and interviews by specialists. In addition, a practical guideline to overcome such barriers is presented and discussed.

  • The information flow through RFID techniques such as, standardized EPC and EPCglobal network suggests new change in the method of cooperating and sharing information in the supply chain. Common function should be prepared for communication, security techniques, and business processes based on the EPCglobal standard to introduce efficient RFID techniques. And the standard architecture which can deal with the RFID environment flexibly is quite necessary. Therefore, this paper suggests Enterprise Application Framework (EAF) for developing efficient and secure RFID applications. EAF offers essential services to develop RFID enterprise systems : a communication environment which uses various standard communication protocols, a security function based on PKI, and abstract business services for flexible introduction of RFID businesses. It simplifies the RFID business integration, minimizes the development complexity, and thus EAF is expected to reduce the cost of RFID application development. EAF guarantees constructing secure RFID applications due to PKI-based security mechanism.

  • Textile industry of Domestic has beeb confronted with Free Trade, and Regional Trade Blocks. In addition, textile industry market is changing from the provider market-oriented to consumer-driven market. RFID is the core technology to correspond in the these environmental change. In this study, we reviewed characteristic and present condition of domestic textile industry and newest technology aspect of RFID. Also, we suggested application plan of RFID technology in textile industry through the analyzing RFID application case of domestic and outside the country textile industry. More precisely, it is propsed that tracking, inspecting and logistics management of raw materials or yarn in up-stream, and Development hysteresis and process management of textile fabrics in middle-stream sector, theftproofing or returning clothes and providing information of products in down-stream sector, through RFID Technology.

  • We study the RFID network system in a construction site, and study the connection method between the RFID network system and the integrated information system of construction material. Moreover, we developed a prototype of the construction site RFID server for the management of construction materials and performed the pilot application in a construction site. Through the pilot application, it was known that the proposed RFID network system can be more usefully applied in the construction sites. The results of the pilot application show that the RFID network system is faster, more accurate, and more reliable than the existing system of information management and achieves improvement in construction productivity.

  • Textile industry of Domestic has been descended in the sector of design, brand, recognition comparing with developed countries. And products of middle and low price do not have competitiveness against developing countries. In addition, textile industry market is changing from the provider market-oriented to consumer-driven market. RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) is the core technology to correspond in the these environmental change. RFID is a technology that is used to communicate with identified objects using radio waves, so that the objects can be recognized, tracked and traced. In this study, we reviewed characteristic and present condition of domestic textile industry and newest technology aspect of RFID.   • As an wireless identification technology, RFID is now extending its application area including logistics, medicine, and healthcare. Adoption of RFID demands high cost such as h/w, s/w, and so on. To adopt RFID, we need to evaluate validity of application area and feasibility of RFID S/W such as EPC Information Service (EPCIS), which demands a variety of RFID test datasets. In this paper, I propose a novel method for generating RFID business events dataset by means of the simulation of RFID application environment. Proposed method can generate near-real RFID event dataset by means of representing various RFID application environment into abstract network model based on petri-net. In addition, it can also be useful when determining adoption of RFID as well as when evaluating RFID system.
