A Study on Factors Affecting the Level of Yangseng(養生) of Certain Elderly People (일부 노인의 양생 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인 연구)

  • Objectives : To explore the causes that affect the level of Yangseng(養生) certain elderly people.(Level of Yanseng; The oriental medicine tool to measure Yanseng developed to fit the situation of korea) Methods : For this purpose, characteristics, Life Satisfaction and Activities of Daily Living were adopted as independent variables and analyzed statistically. Out of questionnaires distributed to the old people aged 65 or more living in Jeonbuk province, 824 replies were collected from April to June 2004 and processed for an analysis. Results : The analysis revealed that the higher points old persons tend to score in Total of Yangseng, the more they are inclined to be Life satisfaction, the higher K-ADL they get and the longer they have leisure. Rather old men than women or rather those who live with family than those who do not have more possibility to record higher scores of Total of Yangseng(R Square=0.365). There was greater possibility that the higher points persons can get in Morality Yangseng(R Square=0.200), Mind Yangseng(R Square=0.173), Diet Yangseng(R Square=0.139), Exercise Yangseng(R Square=0.353), Sleep Yangseng(R Square=0.187), Seasonal Yangseng(R Square=0.107), Sex life Yangseng(R Square=0.199), the more they tend to be Life satisfaction. It was revealed from the analysis that the better care old people pay to Activities & Rest Yangseng, the higher K-ADL they get(R Square=0.186). Conclusions : Front the above results, it may be concluded that approaches of Oriental medicine can contribute to maintaining and promoting health as well as preventing and controlling disease for old people who are in greater needs for proper health care in the aged period.

  • We consider associative ring R (not necessarily commutative). In this paper the concepts: zero square ring of type-1/type-2, zero square ideal of type-1/type-2, zero square dimension of a ring R were introduced and obtained several important results. Finally, some relations between the zero square dimension of the direct sum of finite number of rings; and the sum of the zero square dimension of individual rings; were obtained. Necessary examples were provided.

RINGS AND MODULES WHICH ARE STABLE UNDER NILPOTENTS OF THEIR INJECTIVE HULLS

  • It is shown that every nilpotent-invariant module can be decomposed into a direct sum of a quasi-injective module and a square-free module that are relatively injective and orthogonal. This paper is also concerned with rings satisfying every cyclic right R-module is nilpotent-invariant. We prove that R ≅ R1 × R2, where R1, R2 are rings which satisfy R1 is a semi-simple Artinian ring and R2 is square-free as a right R2-module and all idempotents of R2 is central. The paper concludes with a structure theorem for cyclic nilpotent-invariant right R-modules. Such a module is shown to have isomorphic simple modules eR and fR, where e, f are orthogonal primitive idempotents such that eRf ≠ 0.

Experimental study on Re number effects on aerodynamic characteristics of 2D square prisms with corner modifications

  • Simultaneous pressure measurements on 2D square prisms with various corner modifications were performed in uniform flow with low turbulence level, and the testing Reynolds numbers varied from $1.0{\times}10^5$ to $4.8{\times}10^5$. Experimental models were a square prism, three chamfered-corner square prisms (B/D=5%, 10%, and 15%, where B is the chamfered corner dimension and D is the cross-sectional dimension), and six rounded-corner square prisms (R/D =5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 30%, and 40%, where R is the corner radius). Experimental results of drag coefficients, wind pressure distributions, power spectra of aerodynamic force coefficients, and Strouhal numbers are presented. Ten models are divided into various categories according to the variations of mean drag coefficients with Reynolds number. The mean drag coefficients of models with $B/D{\leq}15%$ and $R/D{\leq}15%$ are unaffected by the Reynolds number. On the contrary, the mean drag coefficients of models with R/D=20%, 30%, and 40% are obviously dependent on Reynolds number. Wind pressure distributions around each model are analyzed according to the categorized results.The influence mechanisms of corner modifications on the aerodynamic characteristics of the square prism are revealed from the perspective of flow around the model, which can be obtained by analyzing the local pressures acting on the model surface.

  • Temperature (T) dependence of the sheet resistance (R$\_$$\square$/) has been investigated an the c-axis oriented thin films of the (Bi2212/Bi2201) mixed crystal with different molar fractions. The R$\_$$\square$/-T superconducting characteristic deteriorated with reduction of the Bi2212 fraction, and almost disappears at 48 mol% where a superconductor-to-insulator transition too k place, with the resistance on the normal state, R$\_$N/, reaching 4.1 kΩka at 80 K. This R$\_$$\square$/ value is close to the universal quantum number, h/(2e)$_2$≡ 6.5 kΩ predicted by the Kosterlitz-Thouless (KT) transition theory. The R$\_$$\square$/-T characteristics of the 48 mol% thin film can be elucidated as a competitive process of KT transition brought about by charge or vortex in the two-dimensional layer structure.

Prediction Modelings of Ring Crush Strength in Corrugated Base Paper by Humidity Variations (습도조건에 따른 골판지원지의 링크러쉬강도 예측 모델링)

  • In order to optimize designing process of corrugated fiberboard boxes for agricultural products, first of all, compression strength of each liner were experimentally evaluated on the various conditions of relative humidity and analyzed by liner regression analysis. At the 66 percents of relative humidity, IK(imported kraft liner) liner board lost little of its compression strength compared to others. At the relative humidity 93 percents, KA liner board lost its compression strength only 40 percents while SK liner board lost up to 56 percents. From the result of prediction modeling of ring crush strength in various humidity conditions, R square values were ranged from 0.59 to 0.97. At 56 percents of RH or below, R square values were relatively low, but at 66 percents of RH or higher, the values were 0.85 or higher. The significance values were lower than 0.001 at every RH condition. Level of significance of experimented values was about 80 percents of predicted values and R square values were between 0.89 to 0.95.

  • In this paper, when points with weights are given in a plane, for an arbitrary constant r, we shall find a square area S such that the sum of weights of points belonging to S is maximized. If the length of the side of S is not given, the problem to find arbitrary rectangular area has been studied. In this paper, we will consider the problem to find a square area with a side of a length r when a constant r is given. We will solve the one dimensional problem in dynamic environment and propose an algorithm with the time complexity of O(nlogn+rn).

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF FLOW CHARACTERISTIC WITH DIFFERENT CORNER RADIUS OF SQUARE CYLINDER

  • The near wake of square section cylinders with different corner radii is studied by numerical method to investigate the influence of corner radius. Eight models, R/D=0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 (R is the corner radius and D is the characteristic dimension of the body) at Re=500 were studied. The numerical results of St, CD and CL at R/D=0 and R/D=0.5 were compared with experiments to prove the feasibility and also investigate the trend of flow phenomena by the various radius corners. Results indicate that, as R/D ratio is increased, the Strouha lnumber is increased, the minimum pressure point on the cylinder surface moved own stream. The calculated results shows that between R/D=0.15 to R/D=0.3 have CD and CL.

Effect of Number of Sowing Grain on the Rice Growth and Yield in Direct Sowing Culture on Irrigated Paddy Field (벼담수 직파 재배에서 파종 입수가 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out in the central part of Korea in 1972 to investigate optimum grain number per square meter and variation of the yield and its components in the direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field. The results could be summarized as follows; 1. Number of maximum tillerings was directly increased with increase of grain number from 120 to 280 per square meter and it was gradually decreased with increase of number sowing grain. So number of maximum tillerings showed at the plot of 280 grain per square meter. Also it was showed remarkable competition at the plot more than 280 grain per square meter. 2. Percentage of effective tiller was decreased with increase of number of sowing grain from 120 to 280 per square meter and after it was gradually decreased with increase of number of sowing grain. 3. It was not remarkable competition in plot less than 1, 000 tillering per square meter on the number of maximum tillerings. 4. It was remarkable positive correlation between the number of panicle and the number of sowing grain, but it was tendency to negative correlation between the number of panicle and the number of spiklets per panicle, and between the number of panicle and the ripening ratio. 5. Correlation coefficient between the yield and the number of spiklet per square meter of land area was 0.929, r=0.695 in the yield and the number of panicle, r=0.796 in the number of panicles and the number of spiklets per square meter Also in rank correlation, it was showed most highly positive correlation(r=0.954) between the yield and the number of panicles, so number of panicles was most largely dominated on yield among the yield components in direct sowing culture on irrigated paddy field. 6. It was producted highest yield in the plot of 280 grain sowing per square meter.

Numerical analysis of oscillating square cylinder with corner radius

  • In this paper, the near wake of stationary and transversely oscillating square section cylinders with different corner radii are studied by numerical method to investigate the influence of corner radius. Six models R/D=0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5 (R is the corner radius and D is the characteristic dimension of the body) were studied. It was found that the corner radius of square cylinder significantly influences the flow features around the body both in stationary and oscillating conditions. Results indicate that, as R/D ratio increases, the Strouhal number increases and the separation point decrease for the stationary and oscillating cases.
