  • Translating ribosomes accompany co-translational regulation of nascent polypeptide chains, including subcellular targeting, protein folding, and covalent modifications. Ribosome-associated quality control (RQC) is a co-translational surveillance mechanism triggered by ribosomal collisions, an indication of atypical translation. The ribosome-associated E3 ligase ZNF598 ubiquitinates small subunit proteins at the stalled ribosomes. A series of RQC factors are then recruited to dissociate and triage aberrant translation intermediates. Regulatory ribosomal stalling may occur on endogenous transcripts for quality gene expression, whereas ribosomal collisions are more globally induced by ribotoxic stressors such as translation inhibitors, ribotoxins, and UV radiation. The latter are sensed by ribosome-associated kinases GCN2 and ZAKα, activating integrated stress response (ISR) and ribotoxic stress response (RSR), respectively. Hierarchical crosstalks among RQC, ISR, and RSR pathways are readily detectable since the collided ribosome is their common substrate for activation. Given the strong implications of RQC factors in neuronal physiology and neurological disorders, the interplay between RQC and ribosome-associated stress signaling may sustain proteostasis, adaptively determine cell fate, and contribute to neural pathogenesis. The elucidation of underlying molecular principles in relevant human diseases should thus provide unexplored therapeutic opportunities.

  • There are need to manage the water quality to supply an safety to consumer through pipe and reservoir the drinking water that produced in a clean water reservoir. However, a management of water quality and monitoring in reservoir have never been performed. Recently, the government has enforced standards of water quality. However, we have a inferior technology of water quality as compared with one in USA, Japan, Germany, etc. In case of water quality inspection and analysis equipments, sensor technology is very important to improve the water quality inspection and to develop the analysis equipments. In this paper, we analyze a law and a regulation for management of drinking water quality, and propose the measurement standards of drinking water quality in pH, conductivity, residual chloride, turbidity and water temperature. Then, we analyze electrode sensors that interference within pH, conductivity, residual chloride in interference experiment.

  • Water quality monitoring for flow rates and BOD/COD/T-N/T-P/SS/TOC concentrations has been conducted in Nakdong river tributaries since 2011. In this study concentrations and loading rates of BOD, T-P, and TOC were analyzed to evaluate water quality monitoring stations using accumulated data at 206 tributary monitoring stations in Nakdong river 2012 ~ 2016. Average concentration ranges for 206 monitoring stations were 0.3 ~ 6.4 mg/L, 0.025 ~ 1.562 mg/L, and 0.6 ~ 10.7 mg/L for BOD, T-P, and TOC, respectively. Additionally, average loading rate ranges were 0.96 ~ 46,040 kg/d, 0.087 ~ 1,834 kg/d, and 1.51 ~ 80,425 kg/d for BOD, T-P, and TOC, respectively. Average concentration for BOD, T-P, and TOC at each monitoring station was evaluated using ambient water quality standards of rivers and water quality regulation level for medium-sized management areas. Average loading rate and specific loading rate (loading rate/drainage basin area) for BOD, T-P, and TOC at each monitoring station was considered to evaluate monitoring stations using suggested classification (BOD, TOC: -1, 1 ~ 10, 10 ~ 100, 100 ~ 1,000, and 1,000 ~ kg/d; T-P: -0.1. 0.1 ~ 1, 1 ~ 10, 10 ~ 100, and 100 ~ kg/d) Using results of this study, various water quality status maps were provided, and three evaluation methods were suggested to determine priority monitoring stations in Nakdong river for rational water quality control and tributaries basin management.

  • As the interest on the air pollution is gradually rising up at home and abroad, automotive and fuel researchers have been working on the exhaust emission reduction from vehicles through a lot of approaches, which consist of new engine design, innovative after-treatment systems, using clean (eco-friendly alternative) fuels and fuel quality improvement. This research has brought forward various main issues : whether PM emissions should be regulated for diesel and gasoline vehicles and whether gasoline and LPG powered vehicles can be further neglected from PM emission inventories. Finally, the greenhouse gas ($CO_2$, $CH_4$, $N_2O$) regulation has been discussed including automotive emission regulation. The greenhouse gas and emissions (PM) particle of automotive had many problem that cause of ambient pollution, health effects. This paper discussed the influence of LPG fuel on automotive cold startability and exhaust emissions gas. Also, this paper assessed emission characteristics due to the test temperature. These test temperature were performed by dividing the temperature of the test mode and the lowest local temperature in winter. Through this study, the correlation of cold startability, exhaust emission and greenhouse gas emission was analyzed.

  • Unlike the existing researches related to salespersons, this study intends to place the focus on salespersons' psychological characteristic as an element affecting their selling behavior. This is because employees' psychological characteristic is very likely to affect their devotion and commitment to relationship with customers and long-term production by a company. In particular, salespersons are likely to get a feeling of fatigue or loss, or make a cynical or cold response to customers because of frequent interaction with them, and to show emotional indifference in an attempt to keep their distance from customers. But the likelihood can vary depending on salespersons' own psychological characteristic; in particular, the occurrence of these phenomena is very likely to vary significantly depending on relationship belief in interpersonal relations. In the field of psychology, under way are researches related to personal psychological characteristics to improve the quality of interpersonal relations and to maximize personal performance and enhance situational adaptability during this process; it is a personal relationship belief that is recently mentioned as such a psychological characteristic. For salespersons having frequent interaction with customers, particularly, relationship belief can be a very important element in forming relations with customers. So this study aims at determining how salespersons' relationship belief affects negative emotion regulation strategies and prosocial behavior to customer. As a result, salespersons' relationship belief was found to have effects on their negative emotion regulation strategies and prosocial behavior to customer. Negative emotion regulation strategies was found to have effects on prosocial behavior. Salespersons with intimate relationship belief try to use active regulation, support-seeking regulation and salespersons with controlling relationship belief try to use avoidant/distractive regulation. Intimate relationship belief was found to have more prosocial behavior, controlling relationship belief was found to have less prosocial behavior to customer. salespersons' negative emotion regulation strategies was found to have effects on their prosocial behavior to customer. Active, support-seeking influence prosocial behavior to customer positively, avoidant/distractive regulation influence prosocial behavior to customer negatively.

  • To evaluate the quality of drinking water and contamination sources in a rural community, this study was carried out on the summer of 2003 at Shin-Dong Myun, Chun-Cheon, Gang-Won province. Seventy three drinking water samples were collected from three different types of water supply systems. Sources of contamination were identified and the public perception of water quality area were evaluated. The findings of this study are as follows; Drinking water was mainly obtained from Local Water and Simple Piped Water Supply Systems, and pollution sources varied over the study area. Most of residents (>63%) were satisfied with the quality of drinking water and could not identify any contamination sources. Corresponding to this perception, measured water quality parameters generally met the Drinking Water Quality Standards (>64%). However, approximately 35.6% of samples exceeded the regulation for Nㅒ$_3$$^{-}$$_{-}$N, coliform, and general bacteria. The water quality was significantly different among the three water supply systems, and between the potentially contaminated areas and the rest of the areas (p<0.05). In the potentially contaminated areas, the levels of coliform and general bacteria contamination were significantly higher than the rest of the areas (p<0.05). The coliform and general bacteria values of Simple Piped Water were significantly higher than Own Piped Water's, and the NO$_3$$^{-}$$_{-}$N values of Own Piped Water were significantly higher than those of water's (p<0.05). Based on this study, NO$_3$$^{-}$$_{-}$N, coliform, and general bacteria were identified as a major problem of drinking water. To regularly manage drinking water supply systems, to identify contamination sources, and to add drainage systems are required in the study area.

  • Voltage harmonics resulting from current harmonics produced by the nonlinear loads have become a serious problem in many systems. Moreover momentary interruptions and voltage sags are responsible for many of the power quality problems found in typical industrial plants. In this paper, proposed power system using series active power filter is not only harmonic compensation but also harmonic isolation between supply and load, and voltage regulation and unbalance compensation. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified through computer simulations and experiments
