  • The importance of Knowledge Management (KM) can be easily recognized in many diverse aspects of the theory studies and in KM's efforts to help implement the government's policy to innovate corporation management. The core of KM is to improve the circulation of knowledge by generation, accumulation, sharing, utilization and acquisition by learning. The improvement of knowledge circulation would result in high quality and quantity of intellectual assets in corporations and make decision-making more efficient. This, too, is the operational philosophy of the special libraries. The primary objective of this study is to promote KM by presenting KM methodology and by explaining a theoretical background and cases, based on the existing special libraries. I cite an example of a case wherein merging intellectual assets and human resources activated the company culture. The reference service system, which is the core of the special library, was used in this merging.

  • This paper propose the Fuzzy AHP(Analytic Hierarchical Process)-based negotiation support (FAHP-NEGO) mechanism to support the dynamic negotiation process in Electronic Commerce(EC). Negotiation is a form of decision-making with two or more actively involved agents who can not make decisions independently, and therefore must make concessions to achieve a compromise. Having concerned that point, the theoretical framework of FAHP-NEGO mechanism is presented by means of fuzzy membership functions and AHP. This mechanism encompasses both qualitative and quantitative conditions, and the use of multiple negotiation procedures for solving the electronic negotiation problem, adjusting the fuzzy membership function, and restructuring the problem representation. A hypothetical example of a healthcare products purchase is given to illustrate the quality of the proposed mechanism. The results showed that the Fuzzy AHP-based negotiation support mechanism could reflect both qualitative and quantitative conditions in EC. The implications of the study for future directions of research on electronic negotiation support modeling and systems are presented.

  • Recently, the environmental problems become a serious social issue, there are many efforts to manage it efficiently. As one of the ways to measure the environment in quantitative index, the environmental indicators are used in decision-making process. Air Environmental Index(AEI), which is derived from the U.S. Air Quality Index(AQI), illustrates the degree of air pollution. In study as follows: to find the charateristics of administrative dongs in Seoul, correlation analysis is conducted based on the land-use patterns and daily traffic data that represent AEI and urban spatial structure of Seoul.

  • CSA(Control Self Assessment) is a new internal control technique whose objective is to control the human resource performance, the manager's philosophy, the business ethics, the effective communication and decision making etc. The purpose of this study is to find out if the CSA improve the quality of internal control. With the questionnaire method the following conclusions are reached. 1) Level of the management supports influence the level of the workshop participation. 2) Anonymity during the workshop session influences the level of workshop participation. 3) Level of the organizational committment influences the level of the participation 4) The level of workshop performance significantly influences the level of internal contro improvement.

  • This paper describes a quantitative approach to the BIM-enabled assessment of building circulation by using quantitative data and applying its weight. Assessment of building circulation plays an important role before construction stage because of related requirements regulated by design guide, building codes, etc. and design decision making as well. In this paper, Qualitative issue is mainly dealt with that are usually excluded from rule checking objects due to their implicit definition such as 'comfortable circulation'. A weighting framework is suggested using weighted data of circulation properties such as 1) metric distance, 2) number of passing spaces, 3) number of turning spaces, 4) window area of passing space, etc.

  • Regional tourism is an effective means of revitalizing the local economy and improving the image of the region. In order to revitalize this, efforts should be made to create regionally specialized tourism products and to preserve the unique culture and traditions. Among them, gathering information about visitors and securing the quality competitiveness of the contents of tourism contents are very important to increase the potential of cultural tourism festival. This paper collects, refines, and processes the festival-related data in a specific area in order to enhance the visitor's tourism needs and satisfaction. In particular, negative words and positive words raised during the festival were analyzed through big data visualization using word cloud.

  • Today, the statistical survey has been carried out variously for the decision-making and administration of the organization. We use the different items in the statistical survey according to the purpose of study. Currently, Gyeongnam province is executing the social index survey to the provincials every year. But, this survey has the limit of the analysis as execution of the different survey per 3 year cycles. The solution for this problem is data fusion technique. Data fusion is generally defined as the use of techniques that collect to combine data including multiple sources in order to raise the quality of information. But, data fusion doesn't mean the ultimate result. Therefor, efficient analysis for the fused data is also important. In this study, we suggest the application methodology of neural network by latent variable through the fused data in statistical survey.

Diagnostic Effectiveness of USPIO versus Gadolinium Based MRI for Axillary Metastasis in Breast Cancer: A Meta-analysis

  • Purpose: This report compared the diagnostic effectiveness between ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) and gadolinium (Gd) based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for differentiation of axillary status in breast cancer patients. Materials and Methods: The present authors performed a meta-analysis of previous studies that compared USPIO or Gd based MRI with histological diagnosis after surgery or biopsy. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Ovid databases and references of articles to identify studies reporting data until December 2013. Pooled sensitivity and specificity were calculated for every study; summary receiver operating characteristic and subgroup analysis was done. Analyses of study quality and heterogeneity were also assessed. Results: There were 14 publications that met the criteria for inclusion in our meta-analysis. USPIO based MRI showed 0.83 (95% CI: 0.75-0.89) and 0.97 (95% CI: 0.94-0.98) for pooled sensitivity and specificity, respectively. Gd based MRI represented pooled sensitivity and specificity of 0.61 (95% CI: 0.55-0.67) and 0.90 (95% CI: 0.87-0.92) for each. Overall weighted area under the curve for USPIO and Gd based MRI were 0.9563 and 0.9051, respectively. Conclusion: USPIO based MRI had a tendency toward high pooled sensitivity and specificity in detection of axillary metastases for breast cancer. This result may mean that USPIO based MRI could be used as complementary modality to differentiate axillary status more precisely, and assist in the decision-making process regarding possible invasive procedures, such as sentinel node biopsy.

  • In recent years, small and medium-sized businesses are rapidly changing to an industrial structure where process/quality/energy data aggregates can be automatically or real-time to achieve global competitiveness. In particular, real-time information analysis produced in the production process of small businesses is evolving into a new process process that analyzes, predicts, prescribes and implements significant performance of small businesses. In this paper, we propose a platform-building model that can transform the automated production information system of small businesses into big data so that they can upgrade data that is generated by small businesses. The proposed model has the capability to support operational efficiency (consulting and training) and strategic decision making of small businesses by utilizing a variety of data on the basic information of products produced by small businesses for data collection by smart SMEs. In addition, the proposed model is characterized by close cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses with different regional characteristics and areas of information sharing and system linkage.

Nature-based Solutions for Climate-Adaptive Water Management: Conceptual Approaches and Challenges (기후변화대응 물관리를 위한 자연기반해법의 개념적 체계와 정책적 과제)

  • Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are defined as practical and technical approaches to restoring functioning ecosystems and biodiversity as a means to address socio-environmental challenges and provide human-nature co-benefits. This study reviews NbS-related literature to identify its key characteristics, techniques, and challenges for its application in climate-adaptive water management. The review finds that NbS has been commonly used as an umbrella term incorporating a wide range of existing ecosystem-based approaches such as low-impact development (LID), best management practices (BMP), forest landscape restoration (FLR), and blue-green infrastructure (BGI), rather than being a uniquely-situated practice. Its technical form and operation can vary significantly depending on the spatial scale (small versus large), objective (mitigation, adaptation, naturalization), and problem (water supply, quality, flooding). Commonly cited techniques include green spaces, permeable surfaces, wetlands, infiltration ponds, and riparian buffers in urban sites, while afforestation, floodplain restoration, and reed beds appear common in non- and less-urban settings. There is a greater lack of operational clarity for large-scale NbS than for small-scale NbS in urban areas. NbS can be a powerful tool that enables an integrated and coordinated action embracing not only water management, but also microclimate moderation, ecosystem conservation, and emissions reduction. This study points out the importance of developing decision-making guidelines that can inform practitioners of the selection, operation, and evaluation of NbS for specific sites. The absence of this framework is one of the obstacles to mainstreaming NbS for water management. More case studies are needed for empirical assessment of NbS.
