  • In supply chain, the quality level of assembly factory depends on the quality levels of suppliers and it is very important to integrate efforts improving the quality levels between producer and suppliers, In this paper, we consider an integrated determination problem of quality specification levels of suppliers. The cost model is developed and the optimal policy under a specific model assumption is obtained. A numerical example is studied.

  • Artificial neural networks (ANN) have successfully applied into various areas. But, How to effectively established network is the one of the critical problem. This study will focus on this problem and try to extensively study. Firstly, four different learning algorithms ANNs were constructed. The learning algorithms include backpropagation, simulated annealing, genetic algorithm, and tabu search. The experimental results of the above four different learning algorithms were tested by statistical analysis. The training RMS, training time, and testing RMS were used as the comparison criteria.

  • In this paper, we address the Bayesian hypotheses testing for the comparison of Weibull distributions. In Bayesian testing problem, conventional Bayes factors can not typically accommodate the use of noninformative priors which are Improper and are defined only up to arbitrary constants. To overcome such problem, we use the recently proposed hypotheses testing criterion called the intrinsic Bayes factor. We derive the arithmetic and median intrinsic Bayes factors for the comparison of Weibull lifetime model and we use these results to analyze real data sets.

  • MTTR and MTBSF are two representative quantitative maintainability and reliability requirements for railway systems. we deal with the redundancy allocation problem to satisfy the two requirements. The redundancy increases MTBSF and changes MTTR. Parallel redundancy and the exponential lifetime distribution of components are considered for the series systems. Mathematical model and example are presented for the redundancy optimization problem of minimizing the cost subjecting to MTTR and MTBSF requirements.

  • Consider the problem of estimating the confidence interval of defect rate of a specified population through a screening test. Relationship between defect rate of the population and sensitivity and specificity of the screening test is discussed. More general statistical problem is introduced with the assumption of unknown imperfect specificity. An improved version of Hogan & Gladden(1978)'s estimator is proposed and discussed. Simulation studies are performed to compare the efficiency of the proposed estimator with current estimators.

  • The general n/m job-shop problem is easy to state what is required, but it is extremely difficult to make any progress whatever toward a solution. This paper was first to examine a heuristic procedure of general n/m scheduling generation focused on the procedure of MWRK (Most Work Remaining) presented by Giffler and Thompson (1960) among others. Then modified procedure was proposed to obtain better solution in light of the key measure of performance compared with that of the literature presented by Baker (1974). The modified procedure then has been extended to other example problem to test the better results and to assure the properness of application.

  • There are many current researches that are looking to improve the quality of HTTP adaptive streaming services. However, the existing schemes have a serious problem of QoE (Quality of Experience) degradation because few consider VBR video transmission. To cope with this problem, in this paper, we proposed a novel media quality adaptation scheme called CB-DASH (Content and Buffer-aware DASH). The proposed scheme controlled the video quality considering the VBR characteristics of video and the client's buffer state. Through the simulation, we proved that our scheme accomplished a more accurate estimated bandwidth than the conventional DASH and improved the QoE of streaming service.

When and How does Leader Feedback Promote Employee Creative Problem-solving Behavior? A Three-way Interaction Model of Employee Feedback Acceptance and Task Complexity (리더의 피드백은 종업원의 창의적 문제해결 행동을 촉진시키는가? 종업원의 피드백 수용정도와 직무 복잡성의 3차항 상호작용효과)

  • Purpose: This paper investigates the effects of leader feedback on employee creative problem-solving behavior. It also explores the relevant conditions that maximize the above relationship from the psychological trait and task nature perspectives. Specifically we examine how employee feedback acceptance and task complexity moderate the relationship between leader's feedback behavior on follower creative problem-solving behavior. Finally the three-way interaction among leader's feedback behavior, employee feedback acceptance and task complexity is analyzed for the best conditions to maximize the positive effect of leader's feedback on creative problem solving behavior. Methods: This paper used a cross-sectional design with questionnaires administered to 411 employees working in Korean manufacturing and service firms. It applied a hierarchical regression analysis to test the hypothesized relationships including three-way interaction effect among leader's feedback behavior, follower feedback acceptance and task complexity on follower creative problem-solving behavior. Results: The empirical results of the paper indicated that the leader feedback behavior had enhanced employee creative problem-solving behavior. It was also found that follower feedback acceptance and task complexity positively moderated the relationship between leader's feedback and follower problem solving behavior. In addition, the test of three-way interaction effects also revealed that the higher the levels of both employee feedback acceptance and task complexity, the greater the positive effect of leader feedback behavior on employee creative problem solving behavior. Conclusion: This paper contributes to the leadership and creativity literatures by identifying the role of leader's behavior enhancing employee creative problem-solving behavior and the specific conditions strengthening the positive effect of leader feedback behavior on employee creative problem-solving behavior.
